Tracey Emin on Her Man Munch
#traceyemin #edvardmunch #sothebys
British artist Tracey Emin has long been an admirer of Edvard Munch whose raw emotion inspired her own use of painful experiences to create art. In this exclusive interview at her studio, Tracey’s gives her views on ‘Self-Portrait with Palette’ and ‘Summer Day’, two highlights of our upcoming auction Modern Renaissance: A Cross-Category Evening Sale (25 March | London). Tracey also discusses David Bowie’s impact on her discovery of Munch, her Royal Academy exhibition ‘Tracey Emin / Edvard Munch: The Loneliness of the Soul’ and the monumental sculpture she has made for the new Munch Museum in Oslo.

Love Tracy’s work especially “You kept it coming” and “The Mother” sculpture. Glad she’s happy and healthy.
Love this amazing Lady! Excellent work!
Tracey is a special and talented lady, I wish her well.
First painting I used to create “Trapped” fro my GCE. My mother hated my surreal and frightening pictures on anti materialism. My school refused me A level art and I was pushed I to academic subjects which I was terrible at. At 60 I return as a working class woman to my art
Tracey is so beautiful x

I wish I could work for her, I'd just love to give back to this incredible artist's work

Is it April fools day?
The Mother sculpture has emotion but it's not ascetic, it looks amateurish, and at certain angles it's a dead ringer for E.T
