I bought one today. A local guitar store had a sale and had the acoustic version I wanted, for AU$100 (about US$75 at time of writing). As I was buying it, the sales guy said they had the bass version out the back. "Same price?: I asked. He said yes, so, as I'm a bass player, I bought it. As he was ringing it up, he said he had better check and took it away (damn). When he came back, he said it wasn't part of the sale, but the boss said I could have it anyway. A very accurate review.

Trace Elliot rocks I miss the huge stacks but you get the best of both worlds with this preamp the classic Trace Elliot sound but able to move it without a crane.

I can't like this enough. Trace Elliot always takes a crane or five guys to move.

I’ve been wanting to try one of these out - been using the GP12SMX series amps since the 90s. I used to use the dual compressor pedal till I blew it with the wrong power supply : / I have the Ashdown version of that compressor and it’s fantastic!

I think the bass already sound great without the preamp. With that bass all you need to do just set the gain and output only.

I play with a bk7 ultra and it's all about different tones for different settings. Tools for a job. Bk7 owns metal, but I'd def check this out for a more portable church or bar gig rig.

here's an idea! - stacking this and a darkglass pedal together!?! or, split the signal and have one side into this, and the other into a darkglass and blend how you want before summing back into a single signal

Here's a novel thought... to have even more tonal choices? Darkglass is great for what they do but, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I get the Transit B might not be everyone else's either but, that is the point of so many manu's making so many different pedals - so that everyone can find something that suits them and the music style(s) they play. It would be such a drag to have only one company making gear cause if everyone bought that one brand, they would eventually all have a very similar tone and sound. It's the same as any other product or items made by multiple businesses - from cars to food - again, to give people different choices, rather than just one.
