    For longer trips i guess your chargline is somewhat low, but for keeping it going its no problem .Your Coil is on the main cirquit and gets his power straigt of the Stator.While your LED maybe overconsumes the Stators chargercoils., This can cause for defective batterys,but aint a problem for keeping on the move on long trips.Nice video like always ,have a good christmastime and lots of new parts.

    All you need is a buck boost adj voltage supply for that headlight. You can turn it down during the day so it just glows enough to be seen and at night you can have it as bright as you want/need and pick a brightness that agrees with your voltage. That is a huge amount of led light but you know their are more efficient led's. I have a 20 watt light that should be illegal because it will blind anyone within 150 yards instantly leaving you unable to see where you are going so there is no way I could use more, in fact I cannot use it full brightness because it actually blinds me from the back side. 10 bucks for a buck/boost board will solve your problems or rewind that coil with thicker wire and same amount of turns. I used to be scared of winding coils but necessity made me and now I won't hesitate for a moment. I just put a bobbin on the lathe and wind it off to see a broken wire, when I find it I solder it together, put some liquid rubber pliars dip and a piece of tape and wind it back or just redo the whole thing and as long as your enamel is good, you won't have a problem and will learn alot in the process. your videos are so damn awesome bro, I can't imagine anyone argueing with your results as your methods are so consistent and true, but that is the result of them big bucks you pay all those camera people behind the scenes huh?

    Just sharing same thoughts ....what have hit me in video it was ignition at 28 deg. BDC !? That is kind racing adjustments - gas full on or off and that is not much efficient , because crank is on the edge turn backwards, isn't it...What you need is gasoline /air mixture burning at highest efficacy to be like 5 -7 degree after ADC. Gasoline mixture has time frame -from ignition point until is at highest temperature of burning or highest coefficient of its efficiency. It is possible to calculate that ( tray to Google it or I can find link for you ). Great job.

  • @49ccscoot

    @49ccscoot

    4 жыл бұрын

    Fuel and air takes a finite amount of time to burn. It's not an explosion. So yeah, you want the peak cylinder pressure to be a bit after TDC, but to do that the fuel has to be ignited before TDC. 28 was what gave me the best results through test and tune. It may have actually done better with more, but I didn't try to go beyond that point. It would have been nice if the CDI backed out timing more at higher RPM to put heat in the exhaust, but it did OK for stock stuff. The MVT has 40-ish degrees of advance and it is harder to start. Runs well once going, but I suspect that it's backing the timing out a lot at higher RPM.

    @@49ccscoot Looks like I wasn't clear as I tough in my writing ....and you explaining basics for me and there is no what we want. Lets start from "Fuel and air takes a finite amount of time to burn" - is this what I'm talking about. Time of burning it depends on fuel quality as well (witch vary a lot from gas station to gas station) this is why racing fuel exist. This is why with new tank of fuel you will get different result on ignition point adjustment. Off course one of the best situations is to do timing adjustments with a DYNO machine ,but for average result for average fuel quality from the gas station to calculate fuel burning time it give you quite good result.

    @@mobilginI understand the idea of calculating time, but conditions vary so much that it's not really possible with a real street ride. If the weather changes and the mixture fattens up a little, then that throws it all off anyway. You could start monitoring altitude density and tuning the carb before every ride with the same canned fuel, but at that point I'll just hop on the TMAX and let something so picky collect dust in a corner. Some level of precision is suited only for racing or dynos IMO. Plus, I've never read anything from top tuners going solely on calculations. At least from things that I read, they generally advise actual testing because there are so many variables. Especially for someone in a regular shop and not sitting on a bank of super computers to so all sorts of modeling.

    Have you considered a DC to DC converter to keep the battery charged? It would require a buck boost to keep a steady voltage, it can pull the charging system voltage down lower, with more current to output more voltage, it may output more total wattage, slightly more, maybe a pen dimmer can be used with the lights to use less power, they are not actually on constantly, but to the eye it is, it can be seen on camera sometimes, computers use the tech also , the only down side is the light will seem slightly dimmer, there is a few things that can be tried, maybe a capacitor connected to the regulator output, to maintain a more constant DC charging voltage, or maybe use a smaller headlight bulb, or add a 18watt or so driving/ DRL/ fig light, and turn off the headlight when not needed, I guess you have it figyby now, but maybe some suggestions can help improve things further! I guess the only true fix would be to add windings to the stator, if there is room, maybe 24-26 gauge per pole with enough turns to equal the voltage supplied by the existing windings, then parallel , to supply more current at the same voltage, or completely rewind the stator, with slightly thicker wire, say go from 26 gauge to 24 gauge, it would require more room, because more copper would be going on to the stator, just some ideas,,,

    I've got it working well enough ATM. One thing that helped the charging a lot was the higher RPM exhaust. With the engine staying revved more, it charges better. The racing ignition doesn't make much power at lower RPM.

    AFAIK MVT does not make an ignition like this for the 139QMB or GY6. You can get smaller and lighter flywheels and there's probably an inner rotor kit out there somewhere. It should improve response and if it had a good ignition curve, that would also be beneficial. NCY, HOCA and SSP-G are the brands I recall that make or made smaller lighter flywheel kits for the 139QMB. Some 1P39QMBs were 63cc. Most are not. The P is proven to not guarantee anything special like a different bore or valve length. It's there to signify a horizontal engine.

    You spend so much time and money, but loose a lot with an not optmized exhaust system

    Just building it a little at a time. I know a lot of people think it's silly to ride around with this pipe, but it's a surprisingly good scoot to cruise with. If I took the MVT off so it charged well, I could ride it anywhere I wanted and it's got good manners. Spending the time is about learning and sharing to me.
