I think personally I'd go for the High Country, I'm glad they updated it -- it was starting to feel ancient. I'm not a big fan of the styling or the color choices of the capstone, it feels kinda tacky. I like how the chevy appears more seamless, but both are good trucks. 👍

I ordered GMC Sierra with all the bells and whistles in Feb 2022. 94,000$ CAD all in. The truck is on its way to the dealer and they told me that price went up $12,000. After 100,000+kms no issue what so ever. I change oil every 8,000km/5,000 miles. I understand it is less than 0.6% of affected trucks. I changed my first oil after 1,000 miles. And since then changed my oil every 5,000 miles. Went to Florida with my RV (towing it) 3 times in 2 years. Drove cross Canada and Nova Scotia. Loving this truck. Worst case scenario Toyota will take care of me. I have extended warranty for few more years. I tried Ford F150, but new Tundra drives much better.

I agree with everything that you concluded on both brand of trucks but, I feel you left out one more important aspect of those brand of trucks was the retail value after equal mileage and or years for those respective brands. I too would lean toward the Chevy but, most people are also, concerned on what it would retail whenever they decide to sell their truck after x years and / or x miles so, I believe that if someone purchases a high value truck they would also be concerned about its retail whenever they get ready to sell it. So, unfortunately as much as I like the Chevy I believe that compare exact same miles and / or years the Toyota will more than likely have a higher retail value and for some customers that is almost equally important as styling.

I'd go with the High Country, but with the 3.0 Duramax(new LZO). I still haven't warmed up to the Toyota's styling, plus there are a few misses that are must-haves with me, such as 4WD Auto(more useful than it seems). Plus the Chevy will age far more gracefully. Oh, and I'm sure there will be those that say reliability, but the Chevy has far less complexity and will likely be equal or more reliability over the longterm. No more "million mile Tundras"... The Tundra's cab also lost critical space over the outgoing model. You shouldn't ever complain about space in a modern full size truck.

Toyota Tundra 100%. The reliability of Toyota is legendary and I like the styling of it better. The better power and hybrid system also make better than the Chevrolet.

For looks and overall appearance its the chev. I wish the capstone had the front end of the Sequoia. Not a fan of that white interior as it w get dirty fast. Would rather get better mpg too so no turbos.

I have owned a few vehicles and work on them most of my whole life. When my customers ask me which vehicles to buy I always tell them Toyotas build great vehicles but they make them for us shorter Asians lol. If you are American sized then an American brand fits way better. Hey its funny but it's true

For the Tundra, I still don't like how the lower part of the front facia looks like the lower jaw of the face was blown off by a shotgun leaving a gaping hole. The Sequoia did the front facia much better.

Completely agree with you guys. Lifelong GM guy, but I ended up going Ram ( 21 Power Wagon 75th edition ) last year due to GM falling behind in the interior department, looks like they've finally addressed that. Super happy with my Ram though. To each their own, but I've got no use for a baby V6 with multiple screaming turbos just to make power. And let's face it, Toyota trucks are, uh, have always been "interesting" in general, though they have their cult following. It's all good

Both nice and really we have some very nice formidable trucks from all the manufacturers. I have to say it the rear area of the Tundra seems like lazy engineering. 15+ years and you still have that huge hump on floor and then you take away all that storage by putting the battery pack down there ? Ohh and no KW plug in like the Ford ? Just saying these should have been done for the amount of time the old one was around.

No mention of cost of ownership or reliability? That's where Toyota will destroy the Chevy. You also didn't mention the gas mileage of each and only stated that Toyota wasn't that great but I'm sure it's better than the 6.2 V8. You guys seem to lean towards Chevy although being a Toyota guy, I do agree that the white interior on the Toyota isn't great and I wouldn't get one with it.

@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 …. I bought my Tundra pre-pandemic. So off the lot was $52,000… 0% interest for 5 years. At the time I knew Toyota was going to dump the V8, which has been tried and true since 2007.. I change my oil religiously every 5K miles. 34K on it now, runs perfectly, every time I check it it’s always full and clean.. should last me a very long time. 👍… I drove my previous Tacoma for 14 years and still got a good penny for it on trade in … and I live in the rust belt of Pennsylvania…. Fluid film twice a year and change that oil folks.. if you want it to last.

Personally the infotainment screen in the Toyota is too big for me and reminds of too much of a Tesla. Every year these screens are getting bigger and that needs to stop. I think the sweet spot is between 8 to 10 inches.

The Tundra backseat was way better than the Chevy, Tunras are full seats look way more comfortable, the back seats in the chevy look almost like jump seats, and the middle cup holder slumps, , I like chevy and Toyota but here Tundra wins
