    One of my favorite cars from the PPIHC last year. So glad I was lucky enough to see it in person. And the onboard footage that the PPIHC youtube channel posted is gold. Mikko's reaction when he comes over the line gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

  • @HazelnutPi

    @HazelnutPi

    6 жыл бұрын

    The group A engine was a modified 4-AG, or at least, was the same basic design, with tweaks in terms of RPM, and HP. It had a 5-valve head adapted from the AE101 model, along with having no device to change valve-timings at certain RPMS, which would guarantee solid power delivery at any RPM. It also had a dry-sump, which not only increases engine rotational efficiency, it lowers the center of gravity of the engine.

    Sage Breaker If you build an engine to be able to push the redline for power output but don't use it them it's utterly pointless. Revs = power. Every 1000rpm increase in redline in hese engines = 10 times shorter life. A standard 4AGE will do 200,000 miles easy. Increase the redline and rebuild life drops to 20,000; then 2000; then 200miles....

It really is a different level compared to the ITB'd 9k revving 4AG sounds they used instead. LOL.. but :( It would have been so much more intense if the real 11k sound was used.

    I like the sound a lot - but, why is it, watching the speedo, accelerating so slow? Is it mph pot....?

    It's because it's not actually that fast in modern terms. It's revving fast in very short ratios. Turn the sound off and watch the scenery. it matches the speedo in kph.

    Keep in mine the road conditions as well. This dude is going 60-80 around some pf these corners.. with a cliff on his side. On gravel of all things. The car is fast. Mayne not as fast as todays "Standards" but that should be the standard for that road.

    Still, try to accelerate like that on such steep inclinations. I think you will find that it takes a lot to go up a hill at that clip..

    I still say mt washington in some cases is more dangerous than pikes peak mainly because it still has a gravel section and the road near the top is much much narrower with big boulders practically over hanging the road

    Not really, sounds like a hayabusa engine. Would be cool if they used this soundfile though. The sound they used for initial d is tsuchiya's personal ae86 for third stage and up, for first stage they used a bone stock ae86. Idk what they used for 2nd
