    I see it now, yea that Filter is in a tight spot, wow. That hex tip is like the 2.7L on the Tacoma I believe. Its the only one that I replaced that used a hex key. All the others Ive seen was 14mm socket like on the 2.4L, 3.0L, and 4.0L. Thanks for the video.

    I suppose regular oil changes along with filter . As well , always using an engine oil flush with keep it clean and the oil control valve .

  • @ScorpionMultimedia

    @ScorpionMultimedia

    regular oil changes is enough as long as you stay on top of Maintenace, me personally never use any kind of flushes to either my engine or tanny tho i really wouldn't recommend any kind of flushes the idea and concept behind them are great, but in reality, they can damage your engine. The chemicals in flushing additives can damage engine seals, leading to expensive repairs in the event of an oil leak. These chemicals can also damage engine bearings; turbochargers and other oil-lubricated components.

    My corolla 2007 idles rough for like 10 to 15 minutes. Goes of when put to drive. Gives p0011. Could it be dirty filter?

  • @ScorpionMultimedia

    @ScorpionMultimedia

    Жыл бұрын

    P0011 could be caused by a number of reasons such as old engine oil, or not having enough oil in the engine. Other causes are more complicated, such as malfunctioning components in the variable valve timing system itself. Also could be Engine oil is dirty, Engine oil is too low, Engine oil is incorrect viscosity, Camshaft variable timing solenoid failure, Camshaft phaser is seized in the advanced position, Continuous oil flow to Variable Camshaft Timing chamber. Which is a symptom of what your experiencing other common symptoms are consist of increased engine stalling, rough engine idle, lowered fuel economy, and rattling/knocking noises from the engine.

    you're welcome. Generally, they don't need maintenance. But if you know the car has not seen regular oil changes or have seen evidence of sludge/heavy oil deposits, might be good the check on this filter. Usually, if you get a lot of engine hesitation, engine pinging, or even something that sounds like a bad rod - could be the OCV filter is clogged. When this happens, OCV is starved of oil and the VVT-i actuator will not turn like it should, running the engine off the most efficient timing.

    @@ScorpionMultimedia I hope i did not miss anything 👍 Car started good and no check engine light .but a small ticking sound i can hear now. I also changed the serpentine belt for the 1st time by myself today .i was only worried that i held the end of the plastic part of the filter a bit too tight with my pliers. I cleaned it using voltronic spray made in germany. Later on i will buy a new filter. I have to order it from toyota mauritius and wait for it to be delivered by plane.🤔

  • @ScorpionMultimedia

    @ScorpionMultimedia

    3 жыл бұрын

    oil control valve filters are kind of tricky on how often or when to change it as its not always easy to tell how long they’re going to last. There really isn’t a any specific length of time that you can expect an oil control valve to stick around. It all depends on everything from how well you maintain your car to what type of car you have. An oil control valve could last you for the entire time that you own a vehicle or give out on you randomly with very little warning. My car is almost at 180k miles so i figured since I'm already replacing everything in my car with new parts and even tho i know I've been maintaining it extremely well I figured this would be dirty and almost clogged up with debris since it considered high mileage but as you seen in the video it was very clean didn't have a spec of debris so I didn't even have to clean or replace it at all but it doesn't hurt to check and make sure it clean and free of debris

    You're welcome, I change mines between 1500-2000 miles because it modified and I drive it hard. If you maintain your car really well don't need to replace it but the cost of a new one from Toyota is $10 you only gotta replace it if it clogged or filled with debris
