@@KirkKreifels Thanks for the Corolla Hybrid review I brought one and I absolutely love it and get about 68mpg driving in 72 deg F weather at 45mph on local streets; to me I did not expect that high of a gas mileage figure from something that looks and drives like a Toyota Corolla that has been electrified into the form of a gasoline hybrid; I am glad I waited before pulling the trigger and buying this Toyota Corolla Hybrid; sorry GM, Chrysler and Chevy I won't be buying any more GM vehicle products; the quality is absolutely terrible to even consider buying now and into the future and this even applies to the planned GM EV vehicle products.

It's a niche market, a lot of people (me included) want to hear the car engine scream. I'm just watching this video so I hopefully stop getting these videos in my recommended. Not even interested in hybrid or EV cars.

@@EvendimataE Toyota is moving to make a hybrid version of every vehicle it sells for this market. The Venza, the Sienna, the Lexus RX300(?) are now hybrid only. In other markets, Toyota sells a Corolla AND a Yaris as CUVs and I believe they are both available as hybrids. The idea is to eventually do away with gasoline engine only models before the end of the decade.

I agree. I would much more prefered hybrid corolla wagon from overpriced Venza or RAV4 hybrids. I believe Toyota understands it well and they don't want to hurt the sale of expensive models, hence limited options.

I’ve had my 2022 Corolla Hybrid for about 2 months now and put on about 1100 miles on it. I am averaging 65 MPG. I keep it in eco mode. It rides nice, the air conditioning works great, plenty of room in the trunk. Apple car play works as advertised. Very happy with my purchase

Depending on traffic conditions and drive mode, one can get up to 73.5 mpg (3.2L/100km) on this corolla hybrid. That translates to about 830 miles (1340 km) on one tank (43L) of unleaded petrol. Yes, amazing.

There are quite a few models that Toyota sells elsewhere that are not available in the U.S. Just this week I read a review in the British magazine CAR about the new, range topping RAV4. It goes a bit beyond what the top-of-the-range RAV includes, tho it should, with a price that would probably PASS $50,000 here in this country.

My parentd currently have a 2018 Toyota Auris Hybrid here in Switzerland (was called Corolla IM in the States). It has the Mk3 Prius powertrain. Motorway, 75mph: ~ 45mpg Overland / city: ~ 52mpg Additional advantages: Toyota reliability (200'000 miles no problem) Dense Toyota dealer network No lithium battery (recourses) Filled up in 3 minutes (including payment) No direct injection (fine dust) Especially when starting 0-30mph very quickly, responds well (electrical assistance) Disadvantages (only one): Quite slow and high-reving acceleration with anything over 40mph Thanks to the low operating costs and reliability, this car is not only worthwhile for "environmentalists", but is also very reasonable, at least when gas prices are as high as 6.20USD per US gallon.

I would love to see your review of the Camry Hybrid. By the way, the small 15" wheels get better gas mileage than the larger wheel. That is True for the Tesla and other cars with different wheel sizes offered. The 20" wheels on the Tesla drop the miles available a bunch. I believe it is because of the shock absorbtion that is done by the tire before it makes the suspension move.

  • @KirkKreifels

@@KirkKreifels The smaller the rim normally the lighter the wheel, unless the larger wheel is forged. Every bump absorbed by the deeper tire takes more energy with a shallower tire when the suspension of the car moves----All changes of direction cost energy. I like your channel, keep it up.

Great review. We need to find someone in Michigan driving 80 on highway in middle of January with -10°C with some slight hills or even in PA. Those fuel economy numbers would be interesting. FL is on the opposite spectrum, flat and warm and city driving. I have my 2022 coming in September but 95% will be done on highway 75-80mph. I'm expecting to lose at least 5-10 mpg in the winter when we hit minus temps. We'll see.

I get around 55-57 mpg. I drive 160 miles a day. About 98% highway. 62mph is the sweet spot on Cruise control. The engine turns off and uses the hybrid mode when it’s level ground or down hill. When not using cruise control you can use the electric motor alone with the engine off, up to 70 mph BUT you have to be progressive with the gas pedal. I bought mine in July 2021, I already have 15,000 miles! No regrets. I get about 550 miles per tank. Only has a 10 gallon gas tank.

I have personally owned a 2020 hybrid now for over 2 years. At this moment I have 85,000 miles on it (yes I do a lot of driving) & have not seen the shop 1 time since I purchased it. I live in the mountains of West Virginia & still manage to consistently get 51-53 mpg. This may not sound that great, however it seems to be amazing considering the fact that I am always going up & down mountains. I do know that on long trips on the freeway, I will average about 56-58 mpg while going about 75mph. I honestly love this car. Is it the greatest driving car out there? No, but this is not why you buy these cars. What it is meant to be, it does a better job at than I could have ever asked for. I am very glad I purchased when I did though (before inflation went crazy). In May of 2020, I purchased it with 5500 miles on it, as a Toyota certifies vehicle for $18,500. I would say, but new if u want one, because used prices on these cars are crazy now.

I just watched this video now I have had my 2020 Corolla hybrid LE for 2 1/2 years and I can attest to the fuel mileage.I drive over the speed limit and I have a heavy foot and I still get 59 to 66 miles to the gallon with an EPArating of 52 Highway 53 city.In the winter in New York it gets pretty cold it does drop down to mid 50s mpg but that is still incredible that’s with the heat cranking. If I’m gentle on it I can easily get 68 to 70 every time I check my fuel mileage it has never been off by more than 2 to 4 miles per gallon my average overall since I’ve owned it has been 63 miles to the gallon over 30,000 miles. When I did the calculations to see how long it would take this car to pay for itself over the Honda Civic I had before that car got 30 miles per gallon average only based my average with the Toyota on 50 miles per gallon turns out I am well over double the miles per gallon that my civic got. This thing would blow my civics doors off as well granted that I had an older Civic 2003. With the fuel prices today at over 425 a gallon as far as I’m concerned this car was the best investment I ever made. My dealer offered to give me trade in in the last month for about $300 less than I paid for it brand new almost 3 years ago.
