Toyota Prius c THREE - A True 50 MPG Hybrid

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Toyota's entry-level Prius c is an affordable hybrid that is capable of 50 mpg. While behind the wheel, we saw 51 mpg for a brief stint, and averaged 45.6 mpg through the course of our testing, over a total of 320.7 miles. During that timeframe, we also saw fuel savings of $6.36, when compared to other vehicles averaging 36 mpg, according to the Prius c's mileage computer. We also were able to remain in EV mode for up to 25 mph for a distance of 1.3 miles. IMPRESSIVE!

I've been searching for a good review of the Prius C. Thanks a lot. I now have a very clear picture of why its "only" $20-$25k. I'm interested in green so I'll give this one a try. Hopefully the slow acceleration and lack of insulation (noisy ride) won't bother me too much. Thanks!

my 2012 Prius C is 50000 miles now(53MPG). I saved about $3000 gas already compare to my 2010 Civic 30 combine MPG. live in CA. my A/C is turned ON all the time. the only maintenance I've done is oil change every 10000 miles. and one air filter. that is all. I don't care other stuff. I will save $6000 on gas when my Prius C is 100000 mile. will buy a plug-in for my next car. will get more than 90 MPG for the same commuting.

thats very good mpg for non highway driving, thats where hybrids really shine. a fully loaded passat can get over 53mpg but only 40mpg in city driving

2:02 It doesn't do this just because it can. It never needs to charge the battery unless it is dangerously low on the battery charge. It mainly comes on because the ICE coolant temp is below 60 degrees Celsius. It's a safety measure to help avoid the hypothetical issue of someone doing a straight red-line all the way past 100 MPH without any safety cushion to avoid a rear-end collision because their ICE did not turn on fast enough. It's an annoying limitation of the car. AVID Prius C drivers know to force their car into ICE mode for a moment of time before attempting a drag strip kind of acceleration move. Edit: I forgot to complain about ECO mode. Worthless. Anyone that is good at throttle control will shun it because ECO basically worsens your response time for red-line acceleration. "Read" more likely to be rear-ended.

Nope. It was a c THREE. The power tilt/slide moonroof w/sliding sunshade was an $850 option in 2013, OaktownsGreatest. Thank you for inquiring, though. And thanks for watching, too!

+OaktownsGreatest It was definitely hard to tell the difference but there was one glaring clue. The absence of heated seats in the center console that come standard on the 4. It is also worth pointing out that the black dash I believe was an option as well (don't know for certain but I could have sworn that became standard in 2015.
