Sandro, I came up with a saying on a similar type job. I recently corrected the paint (as best I could) on a not to well maintained red🙄 1990 Mazda Miata. No clear coat and lots of swirls, spider webbing, minor scratches and in some cases exposed primer around the gas cap and trunk lids. A lot of soft touch, care and time resulted in a very tasty looking revived Miata Roadster. At the reveal, I told him "I took what I could and left what I should." That comment has stuck with me ever since. Btw...great vid! Made me smile...

As someone who did professional detail before moving onto a toyota technician i can honestly say im so pleased to see this level of care and excellence applied to a great level. I remember detailing my first red correction, and it made me love doing it so much because of how radical you can change the look of a car just by working with what is already there!

I was a porter at 3 dealerships on and off throughout 3 years. I wanna say there is a difference in detailers and real detailing is a skill the same with mechanics, body specialists, painters, glass specialists etc. Trades have their levels and apprentices, I believe the same for detailing. Cleaning is level 1 apprentice Detailing is level 2 apprentice Deep detailing and semi art is level 3 apprentice Artistry and restoration is level 4. Licensed level Creation Specialist is level 5. The seal of completion. A creation specialist not only is a paint specialist but also can see areas so deep within and must apply indistinguishable touch up paint but also must possess the knowledge. The levels never end. The grand master teacher will always be replaced with a new one as knowledge never ends and new knowledge is always upcoming.

I'm not a huge import fan but I do have a few on my favorites list. And the 2nd gen MR2 is one of them. I'd have one in a heartbeat if i could find one that wasn't beat up, even a non turbo model would be fine as long as it was a manual transmission car. Your team did an incredible job on this car! Honestly it looks like a repaint. That's how great they did. Nicely done!

superb results, congrats! The red now really pops again ... it makes me wanna buy an old japanese sportscar and restore it too :) had 2 Nissan 200SX (S13) for a period of almost 10 years and I loved it. It was fast, reliable and cheap to maintain. A really great car to begin with! Japanese sportscars of the 90ties where really top notch, the engines where basically bulletproof as long as you didn't rev them too hard when they where cold. Sadly most japanese cars where underrated from that time. I really like your philisophy and the method you go about doing the things you do... It would have been priceless to see the customers reaction. :) have a great day!

About ten years ago I detailed a friends red Ford Laser from the 80s. It had been so sunbeaten that it was almost orange, and matte. Back then, I didn't know detailing like I do now, but I washed.it thoroughly, complete claybar treatment, then Meguiars paint prep to remove oxidized paint, then paint polish, and meguiars deep crystal cleaner wax, all done by hand. I didn't touch the plastic or metal trim, but it still looked like a completely different car. If I was to do it again, I'd do it like Sandro.
