It's not big but it is quite clever. Toyota's iQ city car is just three metres long but it can carry two adults and two small children - and is very well equipped. It's at its best around towns, where its compact size makes it easy to park.Running costs are low but if you intend to rely on the iQ as your only car, think carefully about the kind of trips you make. For example, you do have to choose between passenger space or luggage space -- you can't have both.

If the boot space is an issue, you can carry one passanger un the back and fold down the seat behind the driver. Its more practical then the Smart ForTwo, you can carry 3 and some luggage, 4 over shorter periods of time, or 2 adults a baby and some luggage. And it's still very easy to park.

I have a Smart For Two, but really want one of these.
I had this for 11 years. Never let me down despite a severe lack of maintenance (sorry little iQ). It was my most beloved car ever. So much fun to drive. It's hard to desrcibe. I really hope they release an electric version, would buy instantly.

@Cheeses of Nazareth You are totally right about maintenance. Thing was with this little fellow that it was our second car, for the city mainly and we never thought of keeping it this long. Thus despite basic maintenance (oil, brakes etc.) it didn't receive any extra care. Hardly any car wash, almost always outside exposed to the elements (speaking Berlin here, where it gets cold and snowy, which means salty streets, and hot summers too). Buuut, other cars came and other cars went, but the iQ stayed…and in hindsight it was the most loved but less maintained car of ours.

You might want to check out the Dacia Spring. I believe it's going on sale late 2024 in the UK. Pretty sure it's gonna be a lot slower though.
Welcome to the Toyota iQ review - our 100th video! From all of us here at Carbuyer, we'd like to thank you - our viewers, for your continued support and invite you all to our Facebook page - we're looking for 1000 'Likes' before the end of the year, which with your help should be easy! Many thanks and enjoy the video!
i really like how often they come out with these new videos
Bought this car 4 mnths for the wife. Neighbours love it, friends love it, we've had 4 in it with the wife driving as (she's 5ft 2"), getting over 60MPG and we now use it as our main car. Drives and feels like a large car. Only down side is changing gear more often, but a small price to pay really.
we have the 998cc, just come back from West Wales in it and it drives brilliantly. great little car did 330 miles for just £35, and we didnt see another iQ anywhere. By the way I'm 6ft 3" and theres plenty of room for me.
Best car I've ever owned and I'm 45. Had it from new since 2011 and I'll be keeping it for another 20 years I reckon (not joking).

Keep it. I got a new Vauxhall Adam S after this as a replacement, and though the power of 150hp is nice you really start to appreciate the cleverness of the iQ.
Mat not only looks cool and handsome, but at the same time, always deliver comments in a lively, entertaining and friendly manners in the videos. Keep your nice hard work!
I enjoy your review for your balanced opinion with a little fun added into each and every video
In my review I do what you can do with the speakers. Not sure I agreed with the handling comments - I thought my test car was hilarious. All the joy of driving...don't let go of the wheel.
believe me, i own this car and i've driven me and 3 of my friends in it! it was not roomy, but compared to smart, its a great advantage to have
Great 3 seater car especially in our crowded city’s
I have one in red, will keep it forever….lovely little car.
no longer available in UK. i want a new one 😦
your reviews are excellent
I laughed so hard when he tried to close the trunk! Great review.
make a review of its brother, Cygnet!
I really like watching these reviews, I just wished somebody reviewed cheap second hand cars, from a couple of hundred pounds to a grand with be ideal for somebody who is under 25 like me.
the 2008-present Toyota iQ/ Scion iQ is assembled in Takaoka, Japan
@2003SCT It doesn't feel nervous at high speed, trust me, 200 miles at 80-85mph is no sweat (British roads). Crosswinds however do make you slow down a bit, same as any high sided lightweight vehicle.
That is THE oddest seating position for a passenger I've ever seen in my life 🤔😅😝 Cool little car though. Always enjoy this guy's reviews.
Town use! I thought the UK was 500 miles from go to whoa...
Yaaaay! New video! Always make me happy! :D
@rodrigo gdc That's a very stupid question but no, the passenger's seat will still be forward ad the rear passenger will enter from the right side
Guys the Toyota iQ in the US is the Scion iQ
I've been waiting for this one! :D
Fantastic car! I own the IQ2 1.0 CVT. great fuel economy, the CVT gear box is very smooth. The car is wide but with electric folding door mirrors I've never clipped the wing mirrors. I can carry 2 passengers and still have room for a few shopping bags ( which you can't do in a SMART ) I have even squeezed in 3 adult passengers! But that involved me having to pull my drivers seat as far forward as I could, which was fine for that short journey in an automatic but would've been a struggle in the manual! Very versatile little car. I love mine

I think you brought up an interesting issue. The reviews can guide us, but they can't make the decision for us. Everyone has different needs. And of course every car has its pros and cons. The reviews can show us the pros and the cons. The 2 questions are, (1) Do the pros give us what we need? (2) Can we live with the cons?
@carbuyer can u please test a renault twingo 133 its very inportant for me. I want to know if its any good before I buy one
congrats on 100th!
How someone could sitbehind the driver? Was the driver was really short?
what is the music in this video?
LOL that is the first time you mentioned head room on drivers seat :D
How does it compare to the Skoda CitiGo ?? !!
@AndrewParkerTV well, it's not more economical, and almost 50 centimeters in terms of parking is a very big difference. Plus, the IQ is safer, and when you look at the price you need to consider standard equipment as well. IQ still is more expensive, but it's not as much as many think. I agree that the Aygo would be a better choice for most people, because of price and space, but if those are not your top priorities, an IQ would be better.
Clever , innovative, well thought out with plenty of safety features and eXtras you would expect in a higher priced car. PLus, plus ,plus: for big city drivers and plus, plus: for hyw drivers. Not your 1970's to 2011's sub compact car at all. And certainly not for old breeders into social 20st century Zoom, Gloom and look at me. Although for those who have there jeans on straight it is a verry nice looking, practical and fun to drive modern car. Finally! Fits 3 adults and a baby or a pet .
It is the Scion iQ in the US. It starts at about $16,050 or something around there after the destination charge. Or you can just go to scion.com and look
Our Facebook page is at /CarBuyerUK - find a direct link on our website.
Does this car have an all electric HVAC or AC Unit ???
is the iQ same as the passo?
I love my IQ 3 👍
Will this be sold in the USA?
so in the american iQ , the driver seats more forward than the passenger.
can it fit into the back of a full sized truck?
It's like a Smart For4 coupe.
i actually own an aygo, so i'm with you. the iq is more than 2 times as expensive (basemodel to basemodel), and it looks like an alien sugar cube. however, it has to be said that the iq has the better interior. the aygo is build down to a price and while the design isn't bad, i would have gladly spend 10% more for some nicer plastics and a better stereo. also, the iq boot with the rear seats up is only big enough for 2 not to thick sheets of a4 paper

I recently purchased one of these cars. A 2012 1.3 litre with only 22k on the clock. The original invoice was still in the handbook, the first owner had paid nearly £14k for it!
Any idea about Toyota iQ's price in USA?
how manny airbags is that car have
micra ./ march got more room?
Glove box bigger than boot??
No cruise control ?
I just brought one of these, a G version, in red, I think for the money if you get the right one, well they are almost a cult car, so weird they might just be cool! Nice review here, I bet now car WOW champion would give it minus 10 million as a score. Ah how times change, and still I am writing this and no one will ever read it, cool!
how manny airbags is that car
these cars are perfect if u live in rome
Does it have bluetooth?
Wouldn't the passenger seat, being slightly forward of the driver, reduce visibility?
@enemdisk6628
3 жыл бұрын
No it doesn't really, visibility is surprisingly good with this car. (To answer you question 9 years later)
@Duron13 True, but its better then no bags at all
@rish134 But by doing that you will have just enough space for one bag at best.
Mat we're waiting for the Hyundai Volester review :D
If you live in big city , with bad trafics , like Belgrade , you need small car for everyday comute . It is great for parking , because parking spaces' lines are exactly the same size as normal cars , so some become to small for Aygo , because almost none parks perfect . It is perfect for driving kids to school and kinder-garden - space baby seat behind driver is just ok . So , you have big gas-guzler for trips , wedings , family visits and small city car for every day use .
nice colour!!
The Cygnet is an IQ with fancy interior.

I like this car and what's price
young Matt's looking good 👌✨
I like this man ,,,
@jeffsandychelsea The reason I brought a smart is because theres no other convertible in that price range
it´s actually quite wide for a small car
Toyota sells the Aygo exclusively in Europe, And Toyota doesn't see a market for the iQ in Australia, which is intresting
Why they discontinued this?
crazy why the UK cars never got heated seats!
Incredible!
Why not a Yaris?
What's prices iQ car
If you want to carry 4 people and bags - buy something else, but use it as a two seater hatch and it's fine, with a third person option for when you need it. A smart can't do that. Buy a second hand IQ and it hardly depreciates at all, wiping out the motorists biggest cost. With low running costs, great reliability, plenty space for two, a good selection of gadgets, and high safety standards, it's great. If Apple made cars, they would make the IQ.
What engine do you have?
what country is this?
They don't make them in Red anymore :-( I have a Blue IQ, and I LOVE it, but I would have preferred it in Red like the one on this video. They only made them red in 2012.

Trickflow Tony Fuck, I wasn't planning on telling you which Scion I drive, but since you are a Cyber Stalker. Well yes, that's what I drive, I drive and proudly own a 2014 Scion IQ. She is a little very reliable car, very economic on gas, very comfortable to drive, and very speedy. And she ain't blue anymore, she is Red now. So yeah, now you know it, I own a Scion IQ, laugh all you want, I don't give a Fuck. What I do know, is that I HATE Mustinks, Dodge Challengers, and Dodge, Ford and GMC Trucks!!!

Trickflow Tony All right Kellogg's Fucktart, I want to ask you a question? Why the Fuck are you giving me facts about your stinking Fucking car, when the Fuck did I tell you I was interested in knowing about your Mustink? I actually care more about the process of how toilet paper is made, then about facts of your Homosexual ride. Funny how you call my car gay, I don't need a loud engine piece of shit to prove my manhood, I can prove my manhood with my two fucking fists, I don't need a car to prove my manliness, unlike you, you pussy. Fucking mixed mut, you are half Mexi and half Frenchie, kinda like a French bull dog mixed with a chichuahua, lol. Fucking jokester, you are a sad worthless loser just like the thrash can you call your car.
This orca smart car of the same age ?can not understand why they bothered with the back seats .A bigger flat loading bay would be more useful
Wow who knew mat used to work for these guys
Me not know that mat had be in carbuyer
Judging by how VW has performed in the past few years in reliability surveys, I'm inclined to agree with you. Also, the Up only looks good in the more expensive top end models with the alloys and body coloured everything. Base models, and 5 door versions, look awful.
No problem cruising at 70mph. At 65 mph I am getting 67mpg I have had it showing 72mpg. My only negative is the dead feel to the steering. No feedback at all
How does a car that small get more than 10 hp
yeah, true
the luggage door would of closed matt, if you had moved the bag strap that was hanging down lol
@carbuyer ONLY 41 MORE LIKES PEOPLE, COME ON WE CAN DO THIS!!!
I need to now the Paris off the IQ car plazzzz???
People who get this kind of car are singles who shop in small amounts else the food would rot, rarely carry friends around cause they're busy enough themselves, and don't need to cover a significant distance due to everything being close by in a small city. Smart forTwo is very popular, and is less practical, with space for just two people and one person's luggage, while this car will take three people and one person's luggage or two people and two peoples' luggage.
And a £30,000 price tag in the UK.
I have owned many cars. Audi TT 3.2 v6, S2000, MR2, MX5 etc and my Current IQ is the best car I’ve ever owned. Just love it!

Wow! Is it real that you owned these particular cars and you prefer the iQ above all these? I would like to get one iq and I would like toknow its cons
@danthemanwhocancan
5 жыл бұрын
@@taxissch.4204 cons are that you can't get 4 adults in it. It's usually just me and the 2 kids but if my wife wants to come she has to drive. At 6 ft I have to have the driver seat back so no foot room behind driver. Me in passenger seat plenty of room behind. Also I don't like driving any small cars on the motorway in the wet. This is no exception. I dont often go on long journeys in it. I am 45 now and used to drive fast cars and drive them fast. I am not an old man but I am now strangely happy not racing around and always being in the fast lane. My IQ has plenty of speed but if you are someone who is often late and needs to make up time on the road you may need something faster. You can't take the family suitcases to the airport and carry the family.. Other than that it's the best car I've owned.

@@danthemanwhocancan ooh I got it thanks about the info. It seems though that it is kinda fast for its category when you drive at your own in the car.
In the states it is the scion iq
Used ago or used iq ?
@carbuyer What's the address of Carbuyer Facebook page?
Weop, hey you on 2020. Why you come here mate 😂
wooo keep the videos coming!!!!
BUT if u only have 3 people then u can fold down one seat and carry both WIN
Congratz.
the aygo in the us is called scion xD
I own one, and trust me when I say I'm no sociopath that thinks she can save the world by driving a car like that. I bought it because it's practical, cute looking and damn handy in the city (parking space > you don't need lots of it).
got an iq after all but micra is awesome too
