Toyota GR Dakar Hilux v Land Cruiser GR Sport: DRAG RACE

How’s THIS for a drag race line-up!
We’ve teamed up with Red Bull & Toyota, and they’ve brought their Dakar Rally Hilux to go up against Mat in a Toyota Land Cruiser GR Sport!
So let’s see how these two epic contenders stack up. Starting with the Land Cruiser, it’s powered by a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 that can put down 415hp and 650Nm of torque. Power’s delivered to all four wheels by a 10-speed automatic gearbox, and it’s pretty heavy, tipping the scales at 2,630kg!
And then we have the Dakar Hilux. It’s also equipped with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6, but the power output has been limited to 361hp and 650Nm. However, it’s much lighter than the Land Cruiser, weighing in at 2,000kg.
So how’s this one going to play out? Will the Hilux walk it when they go head-to-head on the tarmac? And more importantly, will it snatch the win when it's on sand?! There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Nasser is very cool and humble down to earth and he won Dakar 5 times , what a great man
Everyone’s crazy about the two vehicles, but I want to stress that the drone kept up so good with those, I’m actually surprised on how quick it was. More drone shots like this, please!

Drones can accelerate much faster and go above 100kmh, they also have zoom cameras so no matter if they are far back, they will still get a nice shot from behind

A 5inch custom fpv drone with a gopro instead of a fancier camera can go 0 to 150kph (idk like 80mph) in less than 2s.

@@SampleTracks2224 The Dakar is designed for sand and the Land Cruiser is not so it’s understandable. If the Land Cruiser was on sand, especially with its road tyres, it would have been absolutely destroyed by the Dakar and would have most likely been damaged

@@banananjam87 still a beautiful piece of engineering. Someone still had to design and build it. Besides the Toyota Engine is still mostly factory and even had its power lowered. But the pairing of that soundtrack and the wonderful engineering of that race vehicle; space frame and all. Personally I don’t care it doesn’t have original Toyota road car parts, as those are designed for the general consumers, not the punishment of desert racing at autobahn speeds in some sections.

@@roochiecooch did not say is not a beautiful thing. They really outdone themselves. Hilux is best pickup in my opinion. For ever. I just watched old Top Gear serie where they "tested" it and was the best survivor. So no doubt a cool car. Was just saying that here is not much of a original Hilux left. That is all. Still a nice piece :)

Had the opportunity to race with Nasser 2 years ago in the Cyprus rally! Very friendly and professional guy! Great driver as well!

I felt like I was there with everyone laughing and having the best day ever!! What an awesome video. It was more than a drag race, it was uplifting. On top of being a Dakar Rally Champions and Legend Nasser is also an Olympian. He is a bronze medalist in shooting

Nasser is as humble and respectful in real life as he is on camera. Top Gentleman!. I also remember i once asked Saeed Al-Hajri at the 1985 Jordan Rally about the specs of his 911SCRS. His answer was exactly like Nasser's😂😂
