TOYOTA GOES SOFTER - 200 Series cracked CV, first of many - Roothy
The first real trial of a 200 Series Toyota was this trip up through some of the toughest tracks that Cape York has to offer. It proved one thing, that the mighty 200 was a downgrade on the older 100 Series as many people figured. In fact Toyotas, like most other vehicles, have progressively 'met the market's demands' by building softer and more complicated vehicles, which when punished, can't take it like the older, simple trucks could. A blown alternator from mud that took three men on the spanners two days to fix thanks to it's location behind the turbo piping. Then, 'craaack' a snapped CV joint - something that the 200's are now well known for. Give them enough hard work and wear the price. Back then though this was a first - as usual it was a Roothy 4wd Action adventure, the toughest trips done off-road in the wildest country on earth.

Always knew Glenno was a trend setter but who knew that he’d set such a huge trend of every 200 that ventured out of a paved car park would snap its CV’s 😜 Great video as always guys 👍🏻

At no time has this group mentioned that they are on Kuky' Yao lands and they seemingly haven't respectfully sought permission from the Traditional Owners. The "Kingdom Come Road" is better known as "The Garraway" track. The "Wenlock Falls" are a sacred site of the Traditional Owners. Its disrespectful to go there. There's been no mention as to whether they had sought Wattle Hills which is not public land. Obviously no regard for the locals as they make access tracks less passable?

I agree with the std dealer response line Phil but a) this was one of the first 200's in the copountry and 2) Glenno rang around, he's one of the best connected mechanics in the country. Couldn't even find anyone who'd had one apart.
