It's nice to reminisce old rivalry. Kaya lang , amoy lupa na sila pero nakakashiut pa rin. Matatalas pa ang kanilang mga paaningin at maliksi pa rin magsikilos. They are showing the rewards of maintaining top physical health condition. It will carry you through to old age. Magaling na huwaran.

The best rivalry in all of sports! I was a big Toyota fan and my father even brought us to watch them at Wallace Air Base in La Union. They played an exhibition game with the US military team. Andy Fields and Bruce “Sky” King were with them. One of the best memories of my childhood.

Just imagine kung gaano kainit ang laro nila in their prime days na mas maliksi sila and mas pisikalan ang laro.

His best games were not with Toyota though(because he had to share leadership with Jawo and others). Fernandez's most brilliant games were when he was with Manila Beer/Beer Hausen then Purefoods when he didnt have to share leadership and he was the only El Presidente

A testament that a competitor will still be a competitor even if his waist line ballooned up from 30 and now to 50. They may not be in the shape and condition as they used to be but there was still the passion and will to win. Rivalries never die. I was here, nilibre ako ng tatay ko 13th birthday ko to eh May 30, 2003. I didn't regret that I went with him kahit sina Bogs, Jawo, Mon, Abet, Atoy at Philip lang ang kilalala ko.

Philip Cezar was an underrated player..because his brilliance was with defense rather than scoring...Remember when a US team came to Philippines to play against PBA teams in the mid or late 80s? The younger more modern bigger players could not solve the Americans...only Cezar, aging&relatively undersized at that time, were able to solve the Americans.Thats how brilliant he was..almost everyone from the Crispa-Toyota era. The veterans of these 2teams led their teams after Toyota &crispa breakups

The PBA was always known as a miniature version of the NBA. That being said, let's list the PBA counterparts of NBA divinities: Magic Johnson (Robert Jaworski), Larry Bird (Philip Cezar), Michael Jordan (Jojo Lastimosa), Julius Erving (Samboy Lim), Pau Gasol (Ramon Fernandez), Isiah Thomas (Eugene Quilban), Tim Hardaway (Johnny Abarrientos), Robert Parish (Abet Guidaben), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Marlou Aquino), Pete Maravich (Atoy Co) Alex English (Bogs Adornado), Buck Williams (Terry Saldana)...

Just my opinion po, but I really don't think there will ever be another exciting rivalry of this magnitude & as legendary as these Crispa Redmanizers - Toyota Tamaraws teams! Tuksuhan nila noon (esp. in the 70's): CRISPA-nalo ... TOYOTA-lo ! ;^) *I was a Crispa fan but an original fan of Mariwasa! There was a Crispa - Mariwasa rivalry during the MICAA league before the PBA. Remember YCO YUTIVO. Before Bogs Adornado, there was Jun Papa - deadly shooter! Also from Concepcion Motorolas was Jimmy Mariano - if the 3-pt shot was in place already that time, he would be king of the arc! Even more impressive, his shots were actually called "Blind Shots" because he stares down on the floor where the post is after a quick glance of the hoop, then it's just esti-metrics & special feel skill to make "ringless" shots! Golden Era @ its best!

Oh God I remember the beginning around 74 or 75, black and white national tv. Crispa Toyota and Tanduay and later Utex and San Miguel were the leading teams. Can anyone remember the first Crispa import, was it Syrusman or it sounds like that. Then sharp shooter Atoy Co join the picture against Jaworski and Alnaiz. Then the Vos brandy commercial. Oh man.

Toyota-Crispa ay walang kaparis...kaya walang dapat magreunion na team rivalryu kundi itong dalawa..no,not Ginebra nor Alaska...Ginebra was born from Jaworski..and Purefoods and San Miguel from Mon Fernandez..so walang kaparis talaga ang original..they were the court geniuses..At their time kasi, hindi sila masyadong athletic..hindi mga tumatalong napakataas o tumatakbong kabilisan tulad ngayon..thus they make up with their brilliances...hindi katulad ngayon, they now use more their athleticism

In 1989 PBA All-Star Game it was Jawo who passed the ball to Don Ramon for the game winner for the Vets over RSJ and 14 years later in this game it was Mon to Sonny. This rivalry was the most intensed of them all. All time head to head for Crispa and Toyota was at 63-61 (including this game) in favor of Crispa. But obviously Toyota can always claim that they won the final encounter of this Legendary Rivalry.

And because of these sister teams, palipat-lipat ang mga players, parang nagri-rigodon so di sila maka-establish ng identity to a particular team. At any rate, isa lang ang dahilan kung bakit mas mainit at mas exciting ang PBA noong araw - ang players noon, may puso kung maglaro. Kahit maliit ang sweldo, kahit luma ang sapatos, bigay-todo ang laro.
