@@secoTheSonicFan Vain is right tho, 1996 team have 12 superstars hall of famers. 1992 team have rookie and some retired player Bird was already finished career he barely walk, not the case with 1996 team all were full prime. @@PIP...33 Indeed. 1996 team has no weakness in game. 3 greatest centers in roster makes them unbeatable. Not only Ewing never won ring but he never led NBA in anything or won any award beside ROTY. Olajuwon and Shaq would dominate 1992 team and probably beat them alone , then you add Grant Hill and Penny just like you said at that time was best players in league especially Penny who can dunk like MJ but pass like Magic he also beat Jordan the year prior Olympic team was selected and was best player in NBA alongside with Hakeem. And smart ppl knows that Hakeem dominated MJ everytime , I think Rockets won 70% games in 90's vs Jordan just like Horrry said Bulls couldnt stop Hakeem they had nobody to guard him. 1996 team also have better coaching Lenny Wilkens is GOAT , number 1 in history. He won more than 1000+ games in NBA. Chuck Daly is just good cause Pistons were bully winning team.

Instead to learn you try to troll ppl. I pity humans like you. You never watched our era and you dont even know facts or players. Vain is right Leatnner and injured Bird makes Dream Team 1992 weak and Ewing makes them also weak cause among all center he is the worst. Yes they had Admiral but 1996 team had Robinson too but plus Shaq and Hakeem. Game will be over in 4-0 sweep for 1996 team cause nobody can stop Shaq from 1992 team . Only guy who defended Shaq was Hakeem and - wonder wonder, he play with Shaq in 96 best USA team ever.

My favorite part was watching Magic pass to Bird. Their rivalry is what saved the league, then they became friends. And then Magic got AIDS, and Bird's back was killing him so he was about to retire too, but when Magic got the call to be the Captain, his first call was to Bird like "You, we started together, and we are going to finish together, I won't do this without you" and Bird, even though his back hurt so bad you can see him lying on the floor when he wasn't playing said "... Oh, okay then", and became the co-captain. Every time Magic passes to Bird, knowing this is the end of their careers and might be the last time playing together, bring a smile to my face. What a sport and what men all these guys were. Incredible!

He still wasn't the icon that he became later, at least here in Spain (where football, what you call soccer, is absolute king and basketball is like the ugly brother), but he was already something like Kobe or Lebron, players that even people who haven't watched a NBA game in their life know that they exist and they are some of the greatest. And in the Barcelona 92 games the USA games were some of the most followed games of all the Olympics as a whole, the court (in Badalona) became small for all the people who wanted to see what was already called the Dream Team. BTW, in Spain Jordan became the icon he is nowadays during his latest years in Bulls, 97 and 98, and also Space Jam helped a lot into making him something that trascended sports. I mean I know in the USA and other countries he was already a legend before, but as I say in Spain basketball isn't that much of an important sport, but the second time he won three rings in a row and then Space Jam... He is now known by anyone even if they don't even know the team he played or, how many titles he won or what years. Saying Michael Jordan is literally saying the best player ever in the NBA.

@@CitsVariants Yeah, more or less the same. I think that is Space Jam what made him an icon beyond sports, there are legends of every sport that belong to that sport but others trascend. Like Pelé, even though most people nowadays never saw him play, when you say "Pelé" everyone knows who you are talking about. However if you say Tom Brady, many people will recognize him as some legend player of american football (even if like me you don't watch that sport), but many people won't even know who that guy is. And even though the actual NBA logo is made of the silhouette of Jerry West, the real icon of NBA is Michael Jordan. Nobody, no matter how far you go, won't relate NBA to Michael Jordan.

I recorded the games on my VHS to watch later and then practice the moves at the open basketball court 3 blocks from my home. Michael Jordan has always been my favorite, he is so talented and driven. Very inspirational to me. Seeing him play with the whole team, especially in the dream trio with magic Johson and Larry Bird was a gift. Today I get the pleasure to show these videos online to my kids, especially my youngest daughter who loves and plays basketball for her middle school. Thank you for sharing this great video!

I was a kid in Australia at the same time. We didn't get much NBA on our television back then, so the Olympics was our first great look at these players we all knew about but couldn't ever really watch. We all love our national teams, but the Dream Team was just different. Everyone watched every game, I stayed up to watch them from the start time of 1, 2, 3 a.m. The only ambivalent game was when they thrashed our national team, OK good try - but against everyone else the margin couldn't be big enough to show how much we loved this generation of NBA stars. The Magic/Bird swansong, Jordan so clearly the man, Barkley showing that drive beats size (Karl you got a major carry from Stockton who only now is getting his flowers), Pippen showing why he and Michael were just getting going, Patrick Ewing being a great guy who already knew he would go better on Michael's team (also the Admiral, and for that matter every other player but Pippen). But at the heart of it was knowing the world had been taking the piss out of USA basketball, playing pros against kids, and the USA finally got mad and showed the world what happened when they levelled the playing field. We all deserved it, and I think everyone who loves fair play cheered it on. I know I did.

@@stefanluke2771 I was in sixth grade in my elementary academe here in the Philippines when the OG Dream Team was assembled in 1992 at the Barcelona Olympics and i've always thought that Michael Jordan was the team captain of that stacked unit only to find out that it was Earvin "Magic" Johnson and Larry Bird were the co-captains as well because of the fact that MJ was the most popular figure in the unit and with Chuck "Daddy Rich" Daly as their coach and it was indeed a great time to watch 'em all of the best and the brightest players in the NBA during the 90's for the most part and I can't help listening to Monserrat Caballe and the late Freddie Mercury's duet song piece Barcelona.

Global basketball has definitely evolutioned over the years, the United States still reigns in this sport, however other nations have been developing a good level in terms of the sport, back in the nineties or even before that era no team could beat the States, times have changed though. Nowadays there are good competent teams from different countries that make basketball competitions way more interesting, take Argentina, Puerto Rico, Spain, for instance, it's always nice to see them play versus the States.

Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God Hebrews 9:28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and to them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin to salvation. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. James 2:17-18 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. 18 But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds." Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent. 2 Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” John 3:5-7 Jesus answered, “Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I told you, 'You must be born from above. ' (All humans have sinned except for the Holy Son of God that have lived a human form and became the sacrifice for the sins of those who believe in him. And also those who believe should repent, turn away from there sins and shall change into more like him. And everyone who follow Christ should be born again, that means you should change the way of your life and be born again.) I will spam this to comments sections so that many will know about Gospel and please read it.

That was an amazing time, I doubt we'll ever see a collection of the best players in the world, and history at one time on one team. We all tried to watch as much of it as we could, even though the network made it really difficult to follow it, I remember some frustration trying to watch them.

Privilegiados los que vimos este dream team. Escúchenlo bien. Jamás se podrá formar un equipo como este en la historia del deporte. Es el equipo más dominante de toda la historia. Obvio ahí esta el mejor de todos mj.

Can still remember this was around the time his popularity started to explode. I was 10 years old, and all of us 5th year and 6th year kids in school were totally obsessed with him. How exciting it was leading up to the Olympics with the dream team and Jordan. Such an amazing time, this footage is nostalgic for so many people.
