Toyota Celica GT-Four DREAMSSS
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Homologation-special cars are always the coolest cars to nerd out on, especially anything WRC-ralated. I rarely see these Celicas around town nowadays so it was a treat to find this amazing example at Super Lap Battle in COTA last week. Aaaaannnnnndddddd I'm now on Craiglist looking for one....

Girl in My high school had one. We all thought our civics where cooler 😂😂😂
Love this build, read all the articles about it i could, while dreaming of finding one of my own. Just got a bone stock st185 a few months ago. Cant wait to do a few classy mods to it.
Buddy of mine had one of these back in the early 2000's. Had a slightly larger turbo, had removed all badging and had fitted a hood from a regular Celica so it was fairly stealth. He would regularly show up to local street races where it was mainly comprised of muscle cars and a few imports. The muscle car guys had absolutely no clue what it was even it had all the badging and hood. The import guys were aware of the GT four but they were rare enough that they would not even think that it was a GT four in disguise. Car upset quite a few muscle car guys.
I always had so much love for celica, they always put smile on my face when i see them on the street.
I had a 1990 Celica GTS and it was so perfect for a 16 year old. One of the best little cars I've ever owned!
As an Aussie lucky enough to have a GR Yaris Rallye edition, I’d almost trade that car and my left nut for this Celica. Such an amazing build 👌

Beautiful car, I have always loved these GT4’s
I was so lucky to find a 1990 ST185 this year in NY. Cant wait to build it up close to what this one is

Is it a black one? I remember seeing it for sale is why I'm asking
Love this build. The look, the sound. Just beautiful
Wooow she's amazing the owner knows it perfectly 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely gorgeous machine!! Great vibes from a great vid! Really enjoyed this, keep up the passion and good work! 👍
Awesome time at cota this weekend, even got a chance to meet Mr. Chen and Awesome guy, super nice, great experience, thanks again!
The ST165 Celica has some of the best AWD handling despite having a very primitive AWD system. Mine cornered as if on rails. You need to get hold of the period correct OZ roulette wheels for them too.

The 185 has the same drivetrain, unless it's a CS which has an LSD and different gearing.

@@boostgoober7262 the 165 feels more nimble, maybe a weight distribution or suspension thing. I did the bushings and sway bar as well as nice extended travel coilovers so that certainly played a part.

The st165 had neutral handling. The st185 suffered from a bit of understeer. Both great cars. Love my 165, bought her in '03 never selling it.

I remember those. They were amazing little cars. Why’d you sell yours?
Have seen this build progress over the years and has always been just amazing during every phase!
Thank you for reviewing a bunch of OG cars! Loving these 🔥
LOVED the cut where he starts talking bout how the car is more expensive than his wife. You saved the mans ass right there 😂🤣 She's finna go, "wait how much did you spend?!"
Wheres my Toyota and Lexus enthusiast at ⁉️ This is definitely the predecessor to the GR Yaris/Corolla. Toyota and their rally racing Pedigrin history is great and I’m glad to see them bring it back in this modern day auto industry where’s others auto makers have abandoned cars like this.

Well the Corolla is still in production so it represents that line of AE sporty Corolla’s, but the GR Yaris definitely. Can’t really combine lines
Great video about a classic from the 90’s. I remembered seeing these everywhere in Japan. They were actually very popular there. Congratulations and off to the next video.
I used to own a blue 92 ST model and loved it even though it didn't have a lot of power. The car was just absolutely fun to drive. Miss mines
"a gen II 3sgte... kind of like an archaic version of the engine..." Jesus. Been through two SW20 MR2 turbos. Stripped both engines down to the block back in the day. Never realized how long ago that was. Then I heard this. That's the moment I realized i'm old.
I remember seeing this car at Cars and Coffee when I was in high school. Sweet to see the build again at COTA!
I really think that it is time for all the proper celicas to take a better place in the JDM world. Fantastic built and awesome owner.... Many greetings from Greece! 🇬🇷! Larry keep documenting these great cars...
One of the fastest cars I've been in was a tuned stock Celica GT. First 4 cylinder to glue me to the seat. It 🤯 because I didn't know 4-cylinders had that much potential. Before I found KZread.
absolute beauty. love celicas, such an amazing heritage.
I just did a 4th gen 3s-gte caldina st215 engine ECM turbo intercooler ,manual trans transfercase in a 1997 Rav4 , was a very simple swap , Doug from wiregap did the harness conversion pretty quick , others say the axles dont swap but they do 43410 and 43420 same parts both cars .t but they do , the customer loves the car and the conversion and you can get a tach and speedo adapter on summit . this is such a cool car, get out and do your swaps ..this is proof it all can be done .. such a great engine from yamaha and toyota
I've owned a st184 for the last eight years, but I have learned so much more from this video.
The legend himself. Clayton.
As a 88 Fiero owner I love the pop up head lights an the rest of the car as well. Hope to get my car close to being as nice as this beautiful car.
Only seen one in the wild ever in my life, super rare car and love you gave it a spot light
Bro bro bro !!! I love that car, I have one at my house 1990 GT4 ALL TRACK 2 years ago and I have not been able to start it. I always sit on it to dream that I drive it. Thanks for the video
I had an original 1990 GT , and the GT Four / all-trac were my dreams cars. That being said the GT was a great car for me. I had 2 15" woofers in the hatch too!
Just wanna say I love this 185. Good choice of car Larry and congrats to owner. Cheers
beautiful piece
Brilliant to see a GTFour as a former Celica 2004 231 model love the GT Four cars so amazing the sound was brilliant with the blows off here.
Great Review.. I've only seen 1 off these cars in my entire life..love it!
So dope, and the owner is so cool to let you drive it on track at COTA!
Larry "Always" finding the Enthusiast! Thank You Larry !
What a dope car and owner. Really loved hearing and watching the love here. SO GOOD!!!
I had one of these as my very first car. I absolutely loved it, and I've always wanted to buy another one.
Man love this set up super clean .
Amazing build!!
Thanks for show this car i LOVE It and i have 2 celicas that celica are amazing👏👏👏
Holy cow that is the bomb.........it's hard to find these in this condition in the UK....fair play, great build 🤩🎉🎊🏁
Beautiful build! I picked up a 1990 AllTrac last week that's in dire need of some TLC. Can't wait to get her back to her former glory. Greatly appreciate the info, I'll be using some of it for my build ;)
I had a 165 and always wanted a 185. Love this car!
Iv always loved these cars! I wish there was more support for them! 👌

Lucky the sw20 is popular otherwise the knowledge base online would be minimal. Least motor and tuning wise
These are the best celica glad to have my first car as a 1990 celica and got a lot of plan to build it
what a beautiful build Jhon have. ST-185 love those cars!
I can't find words to describe how much I love this car. I hope one day i`ll buy one

Wow...I love cars like this ... Real style
Nobody really paid attention to this car while I was there, but I knew instantly that it was special this video doesn’t do Justice on just how good it looks
My dream car. I owned a 1990 Celica GT and have looked for a clean GT-four for years.
Really well done just very TUFF looking machine.
I have a red one. Limited edition Carlos Sainz With stock engine, a very rare car even in Europe
Those turbo spools are so dreamy, as well as the engine sound.
Omg Soo Lucky!!! Beautiful Car My Dream!!
Nice, love at first sight!
Celica GT4 is not the GR Yaris predecessor. It's the Toyota Starlet Remix (Japan only) or Starlet X (US version). Starlet evolves to various nameplate as Echo, Vitz, and currently Yaris. Starlet X or Remix (AWD 5 speed manual) was in limited production and was also in rally.
This build is so fn cool man! Dang!
I had the st182 for many years, dream machine
Beautiful!
in 2008, in canada, you can get a japan surplus gt four for less than $8k

props to dude for taking on this before it was even close to easy.
When he said - “l got a cot set up “ … let’s hope he means 50/50 bedtimes! LOL
I used to own a 185. The 205 is nice, but it is all about the pop up highlights!!!
Nice Build Love it😍 I also have st185 and in the same color 😀
now this is what I'm talking about. Finally some publicity for this car. ST165 owner here!
Lovely....I might get one
This car is absolutely a legend
Absolutely gorgious Celica. Been looking for a 165 to join my 162.
Nicely done builds!
Insane car!
My second car, bought New turbo AWD black lots of fun.
Lol this is crazy, i was there in garage 10 with my company. Cant believe i missed you.
Very nice set up.
I am rebuilding a stock 93' ST. What is the best way to restore the rubber and plastic outside trim pieces that are cracked? You can't find replacements.
I've got an st205 and would love it if you bring one onto the channel. Super underated JDM car.
It is a dragon... made me spit a lil bit i laughed so hard.
Made me appreciate the Celica GT4 which I did not before.
I passed up a cheap Canadian spec ST185 because it had rotten rockers and I regret it. I've been thinking about getting one of these for a long time, such an awesome car!
Love it 😀
By now my Celica has been with me for 20 years, I bought it used in 2003. Never had any kind of problem with mechanics or electronics, extraordinary car, low consumption with the 7AFE. Only problem...I can't find new seals for the windows, to stay with me for another 20 years.😄
This version of the outro is absolute fire
This is my favorite car in the world!!! I had a 93 gt a Long time ago. Love the video I bow to the owner but you should I've drive with the pop up headlight up its way cooler.
That Celica is clean!
I might be wrong, but I believe my dad had a Celica of this generation (started form) when I was younger, always kinda liked it. Been wanting to get one for years but now that's probably not possible.
GORGEOUS car.
Wheel and Tire Specs? Got a ST185 like 4 months ago myself, slowly but surely making her a beauty. Found it: Tires - 235/40R17 Wheels - 17" x 8" (CE28N 10 Spoke Design)
Just got an ST185R myself, I am very keen to get in touch and discuss the wiring options for the caldina motor (I’ve planned exactly this swap), brakes and also front upright mods.
WOW! I love this car...
Woohooooo John!
Omg the engine sounds awesome
St165 whit st205 engine, love the car
So hyped
a rare gem celica all trac
Why 5 people put dislike on this video is beyond me. This car is badass!
Hi I didn't really understand the modification made to the st 185 with the lexus ct200
