Was your iPod connectivity as standard in the armrest?

I have noticed that even though you car has steering wheel on the right (obvious for UK) your steering column controls have the same arrangement as in a car with left steering wheel: turn lights / headlights switch on the left, windshield wipers switch on the right. Is that a standard arrangement for UK? I know that the cars in asian countries with left side traffic have these switches arrangement mirrored: turn lights / headlights switch on the right, windshield wipers switch on the left.

I don't have an iPod connection
