How do you get the outer shaft off the bearings though to install the new (bigger) boot?

you dont. put that boot on before putting the tri pod joint side back together.

I have a 2000 Tacoma v6 4x4 and my LBJ broke while driving last week. Got lucky I was still on the dirt road headed for the highway. Anyway. How the heck do I pull the driver side out? When the lower ball joint failed it ripped the 3 knuckle bearing thing from the dif, leaving the end tube part of the axel still stuck on the dif.

It should be quite simple like he did at 3:45 since you said it's only that back part and it's not connected to the hub right?

Can I get the link for the video you used as a guide?. Not saying your video is not good, but you skip a lot of steps sooo

CVJ Axles is the way to go. Don’t use parts store cv axles!
