Wow that powder coat looks killer. Nice to see something different and classy…not some neon garbage. My timing cover leaks like a sieve. Finna donut one of these days. Would slam it live to just pull the engine and do a clutch while I’m at it. I don’t knwo which knob is more out of my league….pulling whole Shebang, or doing it in-car.

Thanks. Appreciate it. If it’s your first time you can do it in the engine bay but will be tight and be cautious because you don’t want anything to smear. It’s much easier for me to do it outside of the engine bay but it can be a handful if it’s your first time removing the motor. Just take your time like with anything and don’t rush. I don’t like rushing things and do it right the first time. That way it’ll be done correctly.

Engine leaks meaning oil leaks? Were the leaks just due to the gaskets being worn out? My 2ZZ-GE block is wet and I'm almost sure I need to replace the valve cover gasket.

Yes mostly from the rubber gasket getting brittle over time. It’s typical of this motor as they age the gaskets harden and crack causing the oil to seep then leak all over the place. Start high with the valve cover gasket then the chain tensioner will almost be 100% leaking over 100,000 miles. If in doubt you can pour some engine dye into the block and clean off the areas then monitor where the exact area of the motor is leaking.

I just had the timing cover gasket replaced and it still leaks a lot right where the power steering pump is. Can anyone help with this

@@manuelromero2345 Timing chain cover. That’s what mine really was after all. We had done the valve cover and that didn’t solve it.

@@manuelromero2345 oh sorry I misread that. You already did the timing cover and it still leaks…in that case not sure
