Toy Documentary - VIEW MASTER

A short history lesson on the view master, one of the unsung heroes of the toy world!
View-Master is the trademark name of a line of special-format stereoscopes and corresponding View-Master "reels", which are thin cardboard disks containing seven stereoscopic 3-D pairs of small transparent color photographs on film. It was manufactured and sold by Sawyer's.
The View-Master system was introduced in 1939, four years after the advent of Kodachrome color film made the use of small high-quality photographic color images practical. Tourist attraction and travel views predominated in View-Master's early lists of available reels, most of which were meant to be interesting to users of all ages. Most current View-Master reels are intended for children.

This is a new style of video I'm experimenting with, let me know if it works out! I'm going to be spending a little more time learning new software like After Effects and Zbrush so my uploads in the short term will suffer but this channel and others will gain substantially more in the future because of it!

View-Master was pretty sophisticated stuff. :) I had one in the mid 2000s (model 74332), and put it in water, cos I was 5. The wall projector, I took care of though, somewhat better. Just had to get my fill of '00s nostalgia in March 27 2022, so I went to this video.

Hi mate, I have my first VM today. I bought it at the flea market with only one disc and I fell in love with a diorama set about koala brothers, amazing views. I'm going to start searching for other diorama sets. It could be hard to find. Thanks for sharing your cool video.

how did you get - seemingly modern - footage of the production of reels?? like . . . is there still a company making them for small production/Disney souvenirs or something?

Hi, how are you videoing the inside of the view-master, is this an effect or have you used some type of camera? I'm doing a project whereby I need to video the slides of each image within the view-master. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I turned it off after a short time. The music and random graphics were difficult to deal with. I wish you the best.

Slow limited presentation with minimal information and you don’t even mention the inventors name . Poorly done
