Toy almost kills me on Angels Landing Zion National Park Utah

#shorts #short #zionnationalpark #wildspaces
Angels Landing is often called one of the most dangerous hikes in the world. But in truth, Angels Landing is only as dangerous as people make it.
Hiking Angels landing, especially along the famous chain section were a stupid stunt came within inches of costing my life.
Completing the climb to the e summit of Angels' landing is a wonderful achievement., but equires being patient and courteous.
When visiting Zion National Park or any other national park pleas be mindful, and leave you gimmicks at home.

My buddy and I attempted Angels Landing and turned back around. This is a serious hike that you need to use extreme caution. There were people stepping over and around us, and I was like “I’m not doing this on the edge of a mountain”. One more thing most people don’t mention, the chains are extremely hot as they are metal baking under the sun. PLEASE bring quality gloves if you do this hike during the summer.

I climbed to Angel’s Landing in the 1980s with my boyfriend at the time. I recall that it was scary, I have a fear of heights, but also am a bit of a thrill seeker. There was nobody on the trail that day but us. The view from the top was definitely worth the climb.

I'm saying skateboard. The person was carrying it thinking they could ride it down Walter's Wiggles. As I learned from a bobble while descending Angles Landing the first time I hiked it, you should have both hands free at all times to hold the chain. Of course I could see some touron toting a drone up there for some epic (and illegal because flying drones isn't allowed in national parks) flying footage. The kite is a real option too. I can understand the desire to fly a kite up there too even if it is ridiculous. Be warned. I have been on Angels Landing or was in Zion NP the day of or the weekend before 4 of the last 6 fatalities on Angels Landing. I was headed for Yosemite the last time somebody fell from Half Dome. Of course every one of the victims was doing something dumb that had nothing to do with me, but the coincidence is kinda freaky. That and I've had two friends die in Zion, one while rock climbing and another canyoneering. I was miles away both times.
