ANOTHER ADDITION: Accidentally omitted in my closing comments and never personally hiked (until 2021) "OBSERVATION POINT." It is also one of the finest trails in Zion National Park with arguably the most impressive view. OBSERVATION POINT VIDEO: kzread.info/dash/bejne/o2uuttJwntbRotY.html. I cannot even begin to tell you how pumped I am to see this video and the last one on Zion!!! Zion remains one of my “most looked forward to” National Parks (despite the fact that I’m looking forward to all of them)! Can’t wait to see what’s in store at this treasured park man! Btw, update on my brother and me, we have visited 7 National Parks (3 National Parks in depth) on our journey to all 62. I am grateful to see these videos bc it inspires me to continue on my journey with my brother, and also my dad and mom, my grandparents, hopefully I can interest my other brother and my sister, and bring along my soon to be future wife (planning to propose soon)! Hope all is well with you and your family. I want to not rush, but enjoy, every trip on this National Park journey and soak it in! Can’t wait for my next trip! Keep up the great videos and making memories!

Your info is very helpful. We just returned from all five Utah parks and found little crowds at this time. Staying in the lodge is the best advantage as there are no need for the shuttle buses. This has to be the only upside of Covid, less travelers from outside the lower fifty. Low crowds for sure!

Hello America's Park's, I've been to Zion 4 times but I'm missing some of those trails on the list. The trails that I have been to are my favorite The Narrows, followed by Angels Landing and still to this day I don't know how I was able to conquer those chains, but I just kept going and that view was SPECTACULAR! Other trails I have been to are Emerald Pools and another favorite the Canyon Overlook Trail, but I have hiked the Narrows more than any other trail. Next time I'm there I will hike Kolob Canyon as I have heard great reviews from my clients( I'm a travel agent specializing in road travel ). I would also like to continue west to Great Basin National Park and drive the Loneliest highway in America Hwy 50 to Lake Tahoe and onto Yosemite, but that's next time I'm in Utah. Great video Randy!

Randy, thank you for a great concise video. I did not know the lower Emerald Pool was unaccessible due to a rock slide. For me the lower pool is the most beautiful. The middle and upper pools many times are too dry from a lack of rainfall. At least the two times I was there.

The East Mesa Trailhead to Observation Point is absolutely incredible. The observation point trail in the park is closed, but if you drive some dirt roads along the East rim, you get to East Mesa Trailhead, which is about a 7 mile hike out and back to observation point. Amazing views that look DOWN on Angel’s Landing

Beautiful video/ we have done most of these hikes, i did the east rim trail down instead of angel's landing that one is too scary for me// Perfect timing as we may end up in zion next week and were wondering about the watchman trail because if we end up using our campsite in zion that is all we would have time for, looks like it is well worth checking out.// covid comedy, we have 10 nights campsites reserved for only 5 nights in utah depending on what opens or not. we pass thru Zion on our way east and depending on what is open either come home through Navajo and Grand, or stay in Zion on our way home.. crazy times, got to be prepared for anything.

Thank you for the video! :) I’m not much of an experienced hiker, I’ve only hiked in Los Angeles. Would you say Angel’s Landing can be done by someone who is slightly above inexperienced? I’m also afraid of heights, but somehow always end up overcoming the fear and getting it done.

  • @AmericasParks

The nice thing about Angels Landing is you can go up to the chain section (90% of the hike and still a great hike/view) and turn around if you feel uncomfortable regarding the chains. The hike takes some effort, but overcoming the heights is the biggie imho. Be safe!

Then head south east on W.R to Potato Hollow then onwards to Cabin Spring. -From there you hike down past Scout’s Lookout to and past Angels Landing to the river. You jump Canyon Road to the Lodge. Catch the shuttle back to Springdale/Visitor’s Center. Awesome one way hike through some spectacular country.
