Toxic Valkyrie Camera Bag - Review and thoughts

Toxic bags asked me to have a look at one of their new camera bags. So here we are!
Have I finally found the perfect backpack style camera bag for me and my usage style? Have a watch and find out 😉
Note: Toxic Bags have not paid me for this in anyway, they have not gifted me the bag or any other product. The product was loaned to me for a period of time to complete this video. They also did not ask me to speak positively or mention any particular element of the product. My thoughts within this video are entirely my own.

Awesome review. Thank you. I concur about the tripod carry. Still a bag worth considering.

It is! But yeah, a few things to get annoyed about on it...

Excellent, refreshing review, Andy. This is the way reviews should be made: real shooters in real life. I have a bag that opens from the back, which I really like, not only for the whole mud-sand thing, but also from a security standpoint. As I wander around in the wilderness of Maine no moose can sneak up behind me, unzip my backpack, and steel my 15mm f/2.5...

Good review! I tend to prefer the messenger style bags, as I like that I can grab something out without putting it down. The sore shoulder problem means it's not great for extended periods though, heartily agree!

Hi Andy. I was also given an opportunity to review this bag (the smaller version) and the 3LT Billy 2.0 and came to some similar conclusions to you. I enjoyed your review. Nice one

Cheers Keith! I have a review of the Travis 2 coming. (Spoilers) Not a lot I can say seeing as I don't really use tripods much though LOL

Nice review. I agree, the tripod attachment isn't great. Also, the gear access isn't what I would want.

We all have our own requirements, and that is why camera bags are almost as subjective as art. The way I'd use it, these wouldn't impact me much at all, but they are things that need improved on for sure...

Hello, thanks for your honest review. I was thinking of getting one of these and unsure if I can get past it opening at the front . However, a couple of questions if you dont mind. Does it have a chest strap? How padded are the dividers for the lenses? They didn't look very thick. Is the rain cover attached to the bag so it cant be lost? Regarding the waterproof pouch, is it waterproof from the outside as well so If I put my camera in there in the rain it wouldn't get wet?

    1. Chest strap - yes. 2. Padding of dividers - none, they are rigid, I think designed for snug fit of your gear. The dividers are covered in a soft cloth so won't damage things. They make things very secure. 3. Waterproof pocket - The way I read it it is waterproof from both sides. On a filthy wet day I'd have my camera in it though it can't fit a chunky camera in there. A mirrorless system would be fine though. 4. Raincover - it is attached. Hope this helps!

Could you put the tripod in the the water bottle spot and use the bungees that are higher up to secure one?

Yeah, though I would probably not put anything larger than a small/light travel tripod in that slot

The tripod placement is so awkward. How did they ever think that would work? I’d be bashing my tripod all over the place if I had that. Bags that open from the back are such a big must also. Hopefully the next batch of bags are much better.
