I do understand not having your nose buried in your phone the entire time, but codexes at this point are practically worthless because they're outdated and redundant before they even hit the shelves. The tyranid codex was only usable for the code, the statlines, points cost and abilities had all updated before the book was even able to be purchased in-store. I wish I could just use a codex, but unfortunately the app is the way to go if you've got a poor memory and need to make quick references now and again.

I find the concept of toxic people in Warhammer funnny, from my understanding their rare and their all maliciously Nero divergent. From my understanding a large hand full of the fanbase are edgy au gold gym bros and war vets and most of the vets are natural born or just random guys from elsewhere like Brittan who wanted to serve in the most famous military branch in the world the usmc like Adam driver. Most of the celebrities I see play are ufc fighters, metal bands guys with a history of throwing down in self-defense or ripped actors with combat experience. Most of the guys I see joining are the same jacked guys who came back to Yu-gi-oh during covid and got rid of a lot of the turn zero instant win cheating and made it more hygienic. Brickies videos are getting people joining Warhammer the same way the ibff body builder Ruggles got people back into Yu-gi-oh. Not only are you ruining your fun, but chances are the room is filled with the gnarliest cool sweeties in the world who will confront and crush you like an empty can if your super toxic. It's like acting up in gun store full of the coolest guys just trying to be your friend and have fun.

I am in the army, US Army, and we have a lot of people who are onto 40k, and ut keeps growing My first ever actual game was with my old SSO, who i stoll talk to. We used 3rd edition rules and jist had fun.

Regarding bullied becoming bullies, a bit exaggerated of course, I understand that. But as someone who was bullied on and off during most of my school years I made a choice to never treat someone else the same way I was treated. I know what it feels like to be on the receiving end, why would I want to do that to another person? Or animal, for that matter. Why some bullied people choose to become a bully themselves, and others do like I did, I don't know. Would be interesting to learn more about what other factors steered people in one direction or the other. Great show as usual, cheers!

It happens mostly with bullied people once they are in positions of power. Or at least, perceived power in their minds. It's that mentality of "I'll get them once I become famous". The worst part of this is that they don't get revenge on the people that bullied them, but on new people who they perceive to be weak.

I serve in the Marines currently and we actually have quite a lot of 40K players compared to what I expected at first. It’s a small branch so it’s interesting to figure out so many of us are into the nice hobbies like 40k

The garage sale.... I ...dude, that's a TON of money! I know. I sold my friend's Tomb Kings army for his kids after he died. To her dying day, I gave my mom crap about the X-Men #1 of mine she threw away to "teach me a lesson" about keeping my room clean.

Your second dude military guy, truck burning. He would have received compensation for all his items. There all numbered and listed and valued and records kept. I have moved this way 8 times. I had a Valkyrie model snap a tail fin(i fixed it). I claimed it as damaged took a photo of it and sent the price from GW online and was compensated full price of a new one. I sold the broken one for half price and purchased a new one.

Its theraputic listening to these stories. I dont have any of my own stories to add, but i am tempted to visit the local club. If the chat group is anything to go by, im sure there will be a lot of strangeness

13:45 So, you say you won't fight someone who doesn't have their codex, and for people who don't have their codex, they need their army rules. But....the data cards ARE the army rules for Index armies at the moment. So do you just not fight anyone who runs index armies?

i think that generally the comments about needing the codex are USUALLY valid, but right now in 10th with most armies being online-index only; with no physical codex, i think that it’s more than reasonable to only have your rules on your phone. (unless your army has its codex in which case bring it)

Hi North just wanted to let you know that like the guy in the video you're i listen to you while I hobby. I don't know much about warhammer outside of a bit of experience with the video game version at a friends house. I do however build models (gunpla) and i used to play card games (mtg, yugioh, pokemon) growing up so by putting all of those experiences together i find myself able to enjoy the meat of each story. I just really enjoy your delivery and penchant for giving life advise. Hope things improve in your home life and can't wait for the next nightmare compilation.

@14:25 Always a paper codex? I always thought that way too. Until GW started making codexes and changed things within a few weeks. My latest Ork Codex is full of changes that I have to make with my pen. Sorry GW. It's digital for me now. Even as someone who was born in the 80s and prefers things on paper, I am now 100% digital.

I would always agree that your opponent should have their rules to hand and I've played since 3rd. however this is the first edition where I feel no one has a codex anymore it's all on phone

From the land down under: The first story is PURE poetry and i laughed though the ENTIRE thing. I apologize you have no sense of humour "i'm only kidding" but that lyrical word smithery was something else :) I do remember being a non looking geek myself in GW when it was called a thing and having some mortally fun interactions, including the eldar leader throwing a vortex grenade at his feet and me losing abaddon to it.

Boomer NE takes on needing a physical codex to play the game. Should they need to double-check something the phone app (which has a search function) is a lot easier and faster than digging through the massive core rules book or a 150 page codex.

What he meant by Donald didn't choose not to be a victim is that he was the type that never got over bullying or abuse and tries to take it out on others ratger then dealing with the issue.
