i passed my driving test (car) a few weeks ago and drive a very small 3 door nissan micra, so watching your channel of your driving massive long vehicals around is really interesting and how to navigate and approach different situations and your spatial awareness is insane

@@stratoreyener461when you consider the length of the wrecker, which it's carrying a tractor+ trailer ('rig' for USA viewers) that's not far short of an Australian road train. I have towed failed buses using a bus converted into a wrecker and that's 80ft. Not as big as this, but not bending in as many places, so can be a right sod for sharp turns (as most bus depots seem to have right by their entrance)

Wow! That’s a lot of turns. I would have been lost after the first two. Of course the fact that (for me) you’re driving on the wrong side of the road wouldn’t help! I didn’t see you put safety chairs on. Are they not required in the UK? 🇨🇦 Hi from Canada!

@@stratoreyener461 also don't forget that most of the roads in Australia and America are long and straight. You could drive for hours on a straight road without seeing any cars ideal for road trains and similar. Whereas in the UK and Europe the roads are twisty and narrow. A challenge driving a big rig/wrecker let alone a lorry 🚛

It always gets me seeing you take a drive sharft out when all the other roll around messing with the prop sharft instead. Your way is just so much faster and easier and convenient. Especially on cold wet days.

A really enjoyable video to watch. Thanks very much Steve. I often notice that UK HGV drivers are much better at keeping in their lane, e.g. on a roundabout, than car drivers who often can't seem to follow the lines. You manage to keep in the lanes even when towing unless you are deliberately taking up two lanes for safety. Excellent commentary as usual.

Great video again Steve. I really find the driving just as interesting as the actual work to get the casualty vehicle loaded. Maybe if you've been a good lad, Father Christmas might bring you another camera so you can put it on the back to film the casualty vehicle on the boom. I know it'll be a bit more work editing, but it would bring another aspect to it. Thanks again. Keep safe.

I’m sure you’re checking a lot more things while telling us what you are doing. And when are drivers going to give those who are required to work in the road a 1.5 metre gap? Love the relaxing drive thru London and your eye for detail on the roads, Also that big bridge you went over the river, is that the bridge they used in the movie. Jason Bourne, as the glass buildings look very familar where Jason Bourne tells Pam to get some rest? Dave from Australia

I do like the PoV driving bits. Even boring motorway can always be time lapsed, but I guess that's more work editing when you'd rather be recovering vehicles!

Hi Steve, I don't always get your vids shown to me by YT when you release them...Don't know why. I do really enjoy watching you drive the route to your destination. I haven't driven large vehicles on the uk roads, but I have a lot of experience in manoeuvring buses and coaches around very tight depots. I'm retired now, but I still miss being able to do that. So please mate, more driving in your vids as well as the set up. Thanks mate, take care, Norm.

Like all of your videos from doing the pick up to driving and putting it back together. Its always interesting to see what you get to tow and the length of it though some tight roads and also seeing how other driver do went you take up a good bit of the road doing some turns.

Thanks for the video Steve, no problem for you towing that monster, you are right, I found when I was driving artics and later coaches, you had to drive for all the other motorists most I found were brain dead and didn't seem to think you needed a little more room than them as fat as going into your breaking distence the mind boggles. Once again best regards and stay safe Ken
