"Crappy cheap glider that flies like ass" 😂😂😂
RCPowers! Shout out to RCPowers for single-handedly getting me back into RC flying after a 14 year hiatus. By showing me what modern brushless motors, lipos and depron foam could do, I was back in 100% and haven’t stopped since. They really shed light on the lowered point of entry into designing rc planes and inspired many a one-off scratch build for me. Gone were the days of spending 200 hours sanding balsa just to have a damn tip-over that sends you back to the building bench, and breaking in and tuning engines all day while a propellor spins at 10k RPM 1/4” from your radial artery instead of flying. I wonder what they’re up to these days.
Anything + rockets = adult anything
Shockingly all of us in my club flew our sailplanes to 399' AGL today also.
That was fun! I enjoyed hanging out with you all.
a better way to launch a rocket glider is to launch it just like a model rocket, using a guide rod and a couple of guide tubes glued on the fuselage, guide rod set at 45 degree angle. I've done it before, the plane will stay straight during the rocket thrusting stage. 👍
I grew up in NH and flew at the Concord Skyhawks field often. In fact, I had my first and so far only mid-air collision there with my father. He was in a Hobby Lobby .40 trainer (the name slips me), and I was flying my Hobby Shack Right Flyer 40T (which was in the same exact scheme as the Hobbico Flight Star 40 scheme). My father ended up the Victor, his engine went through my fuse just behind the wing. Back then, we flew south of where you do now at that sod farm, but I went down in the woods across from you. My father went down in a flat spin on the field. It took two visits to recover the parts, and I remember the firewall forward was in a puddle! It's been fun watching you go from Western Washington where I was stationed (NAS Whidbey Island) on the local aviators pages out there to your success with RC, and of all places, near where I grew up for over 20 years in New Hampshire, and you visit old stomping grounds. I appreciate your content, Zach! It's a shame we never met in Washington, but I also was one of the guys to shove blowflies into the FATPNW bs. That's a whole other story, and why there are Facebook groups all about using the FATPNW letters that aren't exactly groups.
thank you for getting me into this hobby, i started last year and was on and off of it. i am a younger member of the hobby and this is the type of stuff I saw y'all doing that initially caught my interest and introduced me to the hobby. So i just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you
Well done KC. “Like a kid with a glider in the face” 😂😂😂😂🤣 The attention to detail on that yellow plane is ridiculous. Stunning! Also love the Mail plane (with the nuts)…
As someone who flies rocket powered sailplanes, I have 3 thoughts: 1. Yall are nuts and I love it. 2. You need a real electric airstart with a safety interlock. 3. Sierrafox Hobbies has TSP L series rocket motors. You need to buy some. 20 seconds of fire is more fun than 2 seconds of fire.
Greetings from Australia, keep up the awesome work folks, love the shenanigans!!!
A good mod to stop the gear on the turbo timber from breaking, remove the wire stops in the springs. It works. I broke the gear 3 times the first 4 months of flying it. Not once in the 3 years since I removed the wire stoppers. I've also never broke any props like many people claimed removing the stoppers would do. You guys keep having fun.😎
Now that the gear is broken semi permanently, why not try one wheel, centerline like the old penguin trainers that were not meant to leave the ground. I think that could be a valuable training device for the new RC pilot.
This was a great video! Love seeing the fpv on the cub
Nice job dude ❤ the funcub was amazing
I am reminded of when I was a youngster, and we would buy the little balsa gliders. After a week or two of flying them and getting bored we would attach bottle rockets to them. Squirrely as all get out, then they would blow up. Best couple of dollars ever spent.
I know that 74" Edge... Good times, Good times...
I was actually shocked at how well that thing held up haha
Rc superpowers was my childhood
Should be a crime to have so much fun……you guys are great!
The Timber does come with just one landing gear, like all planes do. But one strut instead of two would do nicely.
This was amazing thank you for the awesome content you guys are my favorite flying channel
ooooh dude this channel is THE BEST!! thank you for the epic content dudes
Only you can prevent forest fires... ...by crashing the rocket glider away from the trees! 😅

Thankfully there are places other than the desert Southwest where such shenanigans can be safely attempted
I have rigged up an RC ignition system that i use to fire little bottle rockets instantly. It will work to light anything that uses a fuse. Would be awesome to play RC Combat!

Don't again but make the rocket motor aoa point like an inch in front of the cg so it doesn't flip over itself
Incredible epic video guys. You're the masters of RC entertainment.
I like the long vid👍
Reminds me of my child hood we launched everything from those rocket motors, our mice astronauts, various insects and flambé paylosds😂
Those little EPP gliders are really durable. They also FoamTac back together really well. They then break somewhere else. There are 48 cm wingspan gliders available that fly better than the little ones.
I've been waiting all GOOD BOY for this.
Love what you guys do
You should do a video on the Cheapest to most expensive Planes
Love the video guys!!
Love this chanel😂
subtile horizon bashing on another level.
Crayzzzzy boys. But its so funny. Always wondering what will be the next😊😊
i think i heard an off balance porp on the one wheel timber
So awesome
Hillarious! 👍

What about launching an R/C model glider with a rocket motor... from the ground?

Friend and I tried this as kids with one of those 5 foot wingspan styrofoam gliders. Used a launch ramp kind of thing. Reinforced the wings and heat shielded the tail. The rocket motor detached before the plane got off the ramp and flew up like it was a rocket. The tail of the plane melted. Total failure but was damn fun!
If anyone lives in the midwest check out your local Menards for the bigger "lidl" gliders. Just picked a few up to convert to rc
Next time you need some gliders, come see me. We have 3 airports within 5 miles of us. I'll personally deliver to your 182 at the airport. 😁😁😁
So much fun. :)

Another fun video guys🤣🤣👍👍🤣🤣 BTW Here's a crazy Turbo Timber mod I would love to see you guys try out remove the stock tail(Rudder&Elevator)instead replace it with a tail from a Timber X ust to see how much more tail response you could get away with with that tail compared to the stock one???
loved the video!

That's an OG 3DHS 74" Edge. The GOAT. 🐐
thats really cool
i remember being 10yo watching rcsuperpowers back in 2008 :D
you should use a less powerful rocket with a longer burn time so that instead of getting 5 seconds of spins and loops you get 10 seconds of steady climbing. angling the rocket could also help prevent it from pitching up uncontrollably, or you could mount it inside the glider in line with the wing to eliminate all adverse forces and just get pure acceleration.
Thank you for this! 😂😊
Great!
One time I taped a rocket to my wing wang after watching jackass.. didn't turn out well

I have one and I'm going to modify it to be just a plane
could you recomend me plane i cna fly in my backyard?
Do rocket motors go bad? I have some G6-0 that are from before they were discontinued. They gotta be at least 10 years old now. New in packaging. Kept in dessicant.
What is your SOURCE for the EZ Glider ?
I own a small pa18 540mm and i tow small, light gliders and the gliders like the one you own are too heavy for it 😅
You guys are like the more fun FliteTest! Not hating on them but they tend to waffle on about the planes instead of just flying like you guys!
Hey I thought you don’t do rockets anymore!! You should put rockets on model cars and boats plus planes!! If you want to know anything else about rocket powered flight you should see me and ask me for some advice!! I would be a great source to help you guys!! I’m the rocket king!!👍😊💯❤️😭🤣😱

It’s difficult for sure. The Z Cam (atleast with my set up) only allows for manual focus which with fast moving objects like RC planes makes for a difficult task keeping it in focus. Generally speaking though, Sony cameras and lenses have the best autofocus around. What’s even better than that? A Sony camcorder. Before switching to the iPhone/z cam combo I used a Sony AX53 which worked great. I just wanted a little more quality out of it. - Ben

Yes I haven’t even started the video yet But Yes
E class motors are extremely weak. You should go get your level 1 cert and use a J motor
I love the random bullshit videos so much
everyone else: so we are gonna do that for safety, this for aerodynamics, this so it's flyable, and this just in case if something goes wrong those mf: we do not care, lets just put a rocket on a glider, that will just melt from the rocket, lets put some shitty flight controls and make the plane as anti aerodynamic as possible
@TailHeavyProductions
