Because Nakuru is part of Eriol's faction and the only reason why she is after Toya is because she needs his magic to grow stronger, otherwise Eriol's plans will get ruined.... the reason why she interrupts Toya is because she knows he will tell him the truth about Yue and give him his magic, and since she is Yue's rival, she doesn't want that to happen btw Nakuru isn't even a girl; she's genderless but presents as a girl because she likes girls' clothing

I heard the one on TV was heavily "censored", so maybe that's why, most of their dialogues were changed to make their relationship more vague. It's a pity cause the anime was very innovative for the time it was airing

"I don't want you to disappear" was probably the most romantic thing they said in this anime, because their romance is mostly a no words type

i kinda subconsciously felt this tension when i watched cardcaptor sakura as a little kid and honestly the way the creator portrayed gay relationships and emotions for another is spot on and beautiful. it wasnt completely obvious so the producers and parents all let this go and everything - in a case where it was obvious the creator would have been told to change it due to the society during it's time of release

actually at that time it was easily passable as touya trying to say that he knows yuki's secret. and the girl saying "you don't know?" as in yuki doesnt know who or what he is. but the tree scene and yuki saying touya is his no.1 gave it away as well as touya giving up his power that helped him see his mom and protect his sister. you wont ever compromise your family for someone who doesnt matter the world to you. obviously anime watchers could understand but otherwise if you want to pass it as bromance it works too. but its quite obvious now that these two and fei×kurogane are couples.

I love season 3, is the "You think touya will declare to Yuki but he actually means something else" until you realize he doesn't need to declare his feeling they were a couple all along.

I saw some people are wondering why Toya worded it “I...you..” instead of just saying I love you. it’s cause the sentence order in Japanese is subject object verb and he is technically saying “I love you” he just never gets to say the verb. 😤 😤 😤

I’ve seen the entire manga, as well as the clear card arc, but this was never really declared. They did say that they they were the most important person to one another though.

I never had anything against Nakuru as a kid... basically because I didn't realize the obvious ship. Now I hate her, even if I know the reason why she did this ^ ^

The thing I love about this is that they normalise their relationship. In most series they make it something either really unexpected or something very brave and beautiful etc. Though it is meant well this serie doesn’t make it weird or abnormal it’s just how it is.
