Tourists vs a Karen! Leave the Horse Alone

Ойын-сауық

So this Lady in the frame told this tourist off to stop touching the Horse and the Tourists was so verbal about this and wasn’t happy at all that she told him off.
Touching the horse depends on the Mounted Guard, if you ask politely Guard may allow you touch his Horse but on no account should up Grab the Reins.
These Guards have the patience of a Saint, they hardly shout except it’s necessary

You see children made to wear safety helmets all the time. They wear them on scooters, etc. Why don't these parents realise the dangers of a large horse at close quarters? A complete mystery to me. Very unfair to the guards who are on duty.

Watching months of this, it fascinates me how the message is totally lost here especially for the little kids. A good example is the little girl who was pushed toward the horse and then had to put her heart sunglasses on and pose for a photo . She has no clue and she was only about 6. Kids are losing the messages of life itself. It’s sad!

Ive mentioned this on numerous channels before, about using a rope barrier as a deterrent (someone else has also mentioned this in todays post) . This is to protect both the guardsmen and their beautiful horses and also the members of the public !! THESE OFFICERS ARE ON DUTY!! But I doubt they'll change (the tourists) It's not rocket science, these people are allowed to get way too close. It feels like it will only change when something awful happens! And what a shame that it'll be. This should also be used in the courtyard, because for whatever reason, tourists think its OK, just ignore the soldiers and the armed police when they tell them to move out of the way. I've noticed that sometimes the officers barely get turned around before they clammer around the horses again! Would this be managed in a different way by other countries, I think so? The rules would possibly be managed in a more forceful way (this is my opinion only) Take care everyone Hugs and stuff 🤗

As an American, why wouldn't I just stride right to a Marine guarding the White House, and start fondling his jigglies, while I'm at it?! Enough of a buffer to keep tourists at a distance. The guard and horse are on duty, it’s not a petting zoo. Hopefully, help prevent this kind of idiocy, but, still allow people to be close enough for a picture. If people can’t understand that then off to the dungeons! 😅’

The “sidewalk” is a well-used public footpath and not MOD property. Right now, tourists are allowed to touch the horses at their own risk as stated in government tourist brochures. Keeping visitors from touching the horses probably requires a change in MOD policy. If you’re a UK taxpayer, contact your MP.

The mounted soldiers at Horse Guards have been a tourist attraction from the moment they filled those sentry boxes over 300 years ago. It’s natural for anyone to stand and look at the sentries in their ceremonial uniforms as well as the beautifully turned out horses. Since the horses are both bred and trained to be a focus of public attention whenever they go out it doesn’t bother them in the least.

I suppose the horses are used to the crowds and people coming close. The temperament of the horse must be taken into consideration before being put in that position. I've noticed that those that decide they don't want people getting so close sure let them know by stomping and moving their heads around. That makes folks move away. The patience that these horses and their guards display is extraordinary. It's also extraordinary how foolish and outright stupid some people can be, but most treat the horses with great respect.

Yes that horse was very tolerant but made it clear several times it does not like the tip of its nose stroked. Most horses do not like this as it is a very sensitive area and these horses just tolerate due to their good training. I get upset when I see one after the other doing this just copying the person before. This was thankfully a very stable horse. Three pet hates I have watching are stroking bottom of nose, hand up in mouth and of course touching or grabbing reins.

All I can say is they need to chain off the area in front of the horse boxes so the tourist can't touch them.

It's ridiculous that the guards and horses are surrounded by all these people, it only takes one deranged person to cause a problem.

They need to have a barrier where people can see, but not touch the guard or horse.

I really think there should be a barrier that doesn't let these people get so close. it has gotten ridiculous and this team of Royal guards, ie: horses and Guardsmen: are disrespected daily by these idiots.

I guess if a horse accidently steps on a kid's foot they will blame the horse and not themselves.

What a bun fight. It’s a good job these horses are well trained, even so something could spook them like a demonstration going past, can you imagine the carnage.

I still think there should be some kind of marking on the pavement, a line which you cannot cross if you know what I mean, some of those idiots are just to close and to annoying to be Honest, take care.

I have palpitations just watching this..the thought of sitting on a horse amongst that lot!! People get so close to the horses neck and head and some even grab the reins or lift toddlers up..do they think the horse won't move a muscle cos they're stood there. Really 🤔 one sudden sharp turn of the horses head making contact with them and there'll be tears..I think this close contact should be stopped..scenes like this are an accident waiting to happen if a horse spooks suddenly. Feel sorry for guards and horses

I have a custom show car. People want to take their picture with it. WHY? I do not mind until they touch. This horse gets distracted even time someone touches him. HE IS ON DUTY just as much as a seeing eye dog. You do not touch them either.

They let to many tourists swam the horses and guards, somebody is going to get seriously injured and it’s likely to be a child. I don’t understand the idiocy of some people who flap their hands in front of the horse trying to decide “shall i stroke the horse “ while looking like they might shit themselves if they do. The kids seem to be always pushed towards them while the so called parents stand there looking like banshees. Enough is Enough stop this madness before it’s too late. 🙏
