Anytime I notice a change in the language like that or buzz words or phrases (pivot, hook up, friends with benefits, the incessant use of the word "like") I am suspicious that somehow it's being inserted into the language by nefarious agents. Remember, the goal of the government in the novel 1984 was to reduce the English language to 5000 words. If you change or remove or redefine words, overtime people lose their ability to think. And that is the goal.

That was actually quite refreshing. She's deep in her bubble, but at least she was able to have a decent and respectful conversation. That's already quite rare when it comes to male/female dynamics nowadays

What she fails to understand is that the male that would have provided more than just a sexual connection was most likely rejected upfront at face value.
