Touring UK Art Shops | What is Hobbycraft?
Ойын-сауық
Hello! Today we are doing a new series where I visit and review art stores in the UK :) To start out, here is Hobbycraft!
I mainly use this store for paint, canvases, and if I need something last minute because it is my local art shop
I'm very excited to travel across the UK and to see all the different types of stores they have!
Hope you're well and I will be seeing you soon

Really hope you’re taking care of yourself. There’s never shame in taking time off to focus on yourself.
Jamie as a long-time viewer I've noticed you've been looking a bit more tired or gaunt recently. Please be well and I hope you put the same care in taking care of your health as you do your impressive art projects. ♥️
Hobby Craft reminds me if Michael's here in the US. And I feel you about prices, Jamie, if I feel it's too much, i just won't get it either, lol Thrifty girls for life!

We save so much money that way! More money to work less and spend more time with friends & family or enjoy hobbies, and/or more money to spend on things which are worth it.
I just wanted to tell you that I stumbled upon your page a couple of weeks ago and I've been binge watching on Facebook and KZread ever since. You're fun art and sweet personality has been a help to me during a time of great stress as my one year old son fights for his life battling cancer. On days that I struggle, which is most days, I watch your videos. Somehow it relieves some of my anxiety and makes me feel a little bit better. So thank you for what you do. Sincerely, Your new fan in Florida, Michelle

Excuse me, sorry to ask is there beads at hobby craft...?
I love just wandering through a craft store, there’s so much there to inspire whole new projects. And I definitely feel the pain of how quickly the bill can just become ridiculous, it’s a pain to my heart 💔
You are just absolutely so adorable!! I genuinely love your art and your content. I hope you continue to do well with your art career and channel 💙
Great to see this. I like knowing what artists use so cool. Thanks for the tips!
What a cute store! I love how it is accessible for everyone. The dinosaur party is such a great idea! I would love to see pictures of the cupcakes! Have a nice day
That kiki sweater is SO CUTE! I want! This video makes me want to go to the craft store so bad, but I'm not sure I could hold myself back. LOL
The accordion sketchbook is so cool! 😍 This was such a lovely video! Looking forward to more in this series!! 💜
Thank you for sharing. I love seeing how it is over there compared to here. Everything is more here too!
You are so fun to watch. I don’t have a creative brain but I so appreciate yours. 💚
Thank you! Loved the lil café area too!
It's hard, with everything happening in the world prices have gone up for everything. I love that you purchased 'happiness' as well. I always purchase happiness 😄
I love the cupboard with your name printed on it. It looks so neat and professional!
i loved the snippets of the garden centre, i know you've done videos at them before but your local one looks sooo cute! living vicariously hehe! my favourite craft shop is probably the range because it's cheaper than hobbycraft and there's a huge one near my house
I like your idea, Jamie! 👍👍👍
Though I'm subscribed here, not watched you lately. I gotta say, Jamie, you seem much more relaxed and self assured since when I last watched. It's very nice to see, I'm happy for you.
I think everything has gone up in prices. It's very disheartening, but I'm so looking forward to what you will do with all of the goodies!

Yeah :( everything has gone up in price :(
Thank you for this video it was actually really helpful I just moved to the UK and I’ve been trying to figure out what paints to buy as I am having to rebuild my craft supply!
This was a fun video Jamie! 💜
Love that accordion sketch book! Very cool. Your restraint at only spending 50 pounds is admirable. Tyfs.
Wow! I also did not know that badgers actually existed! My husband teases me about this whenever he can! Thank you for making me not feel alone about that!
I love the birdhouse sewing box. ❤️
my favourite cat store has quickly become abakahns in Liverpool. Its for sewing/fabric/knitting mostly, with some general craft stuff to but its so cheap and so fun to visit!
This video was so fun!
The accordion sketch book was really cool!!
Your hair looks super cute! And your sweater too 🥰
Your HOODIE!!!! Love it!
Love this idea of touring art stores! I wanted to go through all the stores in Newcastle. We have quite a few good ones here in the North East if you're wanting to go further a field!
It feels so weird seeing my local hobby craft here. I love going, unless we are picking up something big we always walk down and then sneak into Haskins to look at all the animal outdoor ornaments (my favourite part) I have so many good memories of going to hobby craft, especially with my nan. I used to adore the dolls houses they used to have, it’s not as much as a thing as is it was 20 years ago though :( I wish I could buy everything in store!
I can tell you really wanted that piñata since you carried it around so long. 😊
Loved this video - you should totally have a dinosaur party with Tom!
Loved this video! Such a cool idea, touring different art shops. I really hope you're going to do The Works, they're super cool. Also The Range have a really good arts and crafts section in case you didn't know :) x

The Works is cool and cheap! You can find any canvas at a very good price and they are decent!
just did my own hobby craft shop spent £30 on paint and it wasn't even a lot of paint. on a side note I love your videos and art its all so cute, you've also inspired me to paint more of the things I love! :D
I love Hobbycraft! I don't have one too close to me, but whenever I go in one I always end up leaving with a lot of craft supplies that I didn't intend on buying when I went in, but couldn't resist 😅

I went in just after my birthday for 2 posca pens. Left after spending £50 on some alcohol markers I wanted to try (alas, I don’t like them, they’re not my style), more than 2 posca pens, sketchbook, new pencil, sharpener, washi tape etc 😅
So cool!
Now I need my own dinosaurs party!! 💜
I was certain you wouldn't be able to resist the 'Sew your own Cow' kit. Maybe next time? 😉 The thing about lollies and badgers made me chuckle. I get badgers on my garden. I have a camera trap and I've got some videos of them which I can put on my channel - I've got foxes and hedgehogs on there at the minute if you want to have a look. 😊 I look forward to seeing what you create on that lovely big canvas. 😊
Love your videos!
I love the fact that I buy the same paints as you do, it means I'm doing something right 😅🥲 I love going to Hobbycraft but every time I go, I want to buy everything 😩 It's like paradise for my ideas 💡 Every corner I walk I'm like "oh I could do this, I could do that, I wish I could do this too" and so on. Unfortunately my local one does not have a lab like yours 😪
Last time i was in hobbycraft I got followed by security... But I have 2 of the acordian sketchbooks! I use one for a line challenge which is fun and totally worth doing!
I love in Oklahoma, USA. We have Micheal's and Hobby Lobby. For art supplies. I have fond memories of going to Hobby Lobby with my grandma when I was a kid.
I haven't been to Hobbycraft in an age (mostly coz we don't have one round here!) Looks like they're still fun, though still somewhat pricey but, at least they still have stuff for sale which is always a bonus!
This is so cute and cool!! Since I myself work at a main chain fabric and craft store in the US it makes me curious if the items in other countries also come from countries like China, Thailand, or Pakistan. We get some specific art supplies from European countries but not like the other ones.
I do love a little bimble around Hobbycraft. They can be a bit expensive sometimes but you can get some good bargains too. To be honest I thought £50 for all that you got was pretty decent. Especially since everything is going up at the moment. Can’t wait to see what you paint. 💕💕

Tell me about it! Everything is so expensive, even my rabbits food has gone up £1something per bag. I cry in student poor 😂
My local hobbybraft is two stories high. I love hobbycraft! I force my mum to go on outings to hobbycraft 😂 you know when dogs jump up with excitement to go for a walk. That me when I’m going to hobbycraft.

I am the same haha, you need a car to go to mine but I can’t afford one yet. When I hear my mum has gone to a shop near hobby craft I look at her with utter betrayal 😂

Two stories!!!! I need to go to your one!
Oooh I always thought garden centres were plant nurseries where they only sold plants/trees/bushes/flowers 😅 well I’ve learned something new!
those jellyfish that were hanging from the ceiling look like theyre crochet! its MUCH easier than knitting in my opinion. could be a fun crafty project to make a little jellyfish :) i learned crochet from a few youtube vids its really fun
Omg I think this is the hobby craft near my house! 😱❤️
That was such a good haul! I need to do an art hall. i realized a ton of my paints are dried up! Im so sad!
I like Hobby craft. I wish they sold oil paint that is really fluorescent. With a Hobby craft club card, you can get a small percentage off. I can't wait to see more from this series.

I have a hobby craft board but don’t think I have ever got money off…
Jamie do you have advice for getting into painting? Tips you thinky would make the process easier for a begginers sort of, "things i wish i knew" ?
You are very correct in regards to the prices going up T^T. I only go now when things are on sale. Discounts are life.
I love you're videos
Hope you've been feeling well recently jamie!

Has she been unwell? I've been missing some of her uploads the past several months and I watched this and was kinda shocked at her appearance. Please understand I am just worried for her. I don't ever wanna say anything rude, or upsetting, because she is so sweet, and I'm scared people will be hateful.

@@hanana7167 thanks, 👍 I'm so glad you were nice about it.
If you like hobby craft and garden centers there is a hobby craft in a garden center in Wychbold called webbs. Also cass art in Birmingham City center is expensive but does a good selection of art supplies.
That sketchbook would be cool to do a continuous painting until you reach end (portraits or something)
What paint do you recommend for painting on canvas and paper if not ready mix paint?
WOOT!
Which we had a Hobby craft in Norway. Our hobby stores are boring :( Btw, love your jacket ♥️ Where did you get it if I may ask :)
I use paint from the company you like for my stained glass. They do make a good product.
Hi Jamie Jo! Thanks so much for showing your subscribers your local Hobbycraft. Hope to see you back again soon! - Tom
Here in switzerland getting all of this for 50 franks would be luckyyyy! i hope you have a lovely dino party!!

Dino party :D :D :D
I’m British and my favourite shop is hobbycraft ❤❤
This is such a cool series
I think I recognised the car park and outside of that hobbycraft. I think my ex lived round the corner.
I could see someone doing one very long artwork in that accordion sketchbook.
I got so confused as to who was filming when you said my wedding not our wedding 😂
❤
Hobby craft generally have the most range but is one of the more expensive places for art supplies sadly. Sometimes the small discount/cheap shops will have the odd bits and pieces for arts and crafts too that are sometimes looking in especially if they are on your door step such as Home bargains which usually focuses on home ware but does have occasionally bits and pieces such as canvases which they sell regularly but don't tend to have too much of a variety of sizes depending on what they have in stock, the range stores usually have a designated spot for arts and crafts and also specialise in affordable home ware and decorations and some party stuff and a lot more variety of cheap frames than hobby craft. Even pound stores/shops have a range of cheap acrylic paints and canvases sometimes so really good to check out the ones nearest to you. Sometimes it's the cheap sort of stores that aren't commercial that surprise you the most depending on what they sell. Equally with some of the cheap shops that specialise in home ware there's nothing stopping you for getting creative like Wilko is also good for that. Even in pound land at one point they were selling UHU El pegamento universal in which is a all purpose adhesive glue in which one of my technicians at my university were telling students to buy for their card craft projects to do with illustration and animation because it was really reasonable/ I think they may have been selling it cheaper than most places and is really good for those kind of projects. And hi I like watching your videos because I think you have a really lovely style plus I love Disney and all the ideas that you come up with. I also live in the UK. :)
Hobby craft is a great store, but I find they lack in card craft supplies. So I tend to either shop on the Create and craft shopping channel, or direct from company websites.

They used to have more, I think they do change a bit with trends.
So much jar 🫙.
Hobby Craft is almost the same as Hobby Lobby. I could stay there for hours!
I wish we had a something similar in Malaysia..Most of the art products are imported hence the hefty price.."sigh"
Prices have gone up on everything, everywhere, globally. A lot is due to rise in gas/petrol prices which naturally affects transportation of goods.
Unfortunately that looks right for $50 (Quid), Art life is expensive! I think it would be helpful to sew yourself an apron for when you're painting. I'm working on a cross-back apron (found the super simple pattern online, only 5 pieces including the pockets) for when I start my art classes. 😁
I wonder if Hobby Craft is affiliated with Hobby Lobby in the US. They both have the same stuff.
i can never find what i am looking for at the nearest hobbycraft, not that shop there that often since they can be expensive
Not as good as USA art shops of which I'm completely jealous. Unless there's a sale ( they sell pebeo paint Hella cheap a lot usually goes down to £2 during a sale).. I don't buy there I look online instead. But the pebeo paint sales are hard to ignore sometimes lol
From your older videos and now you look like you have an eating issue. Of course, I'm not bashing you seen like a sweet individual. Hope you get to feeling better

i agree...i thought maybe she was always that thin but i watched videos from 6 yrs. ago and she looked healthier/more feminine. she now seems quite sickly. i hope its not something serious and she can get help...i hope her living situation is ok...
Hobbycraft also sell aprons
Jamie if you need some crocheted animals I can make you some just let me know!!!

Fairly certain comments are deleted. 400k subs. 15k average video views and on average only 90-100 comments? Of which are all complimentary (not that that is really a bad thing lol)
Hi just found out about you
hahahaha
I think you should face paint Tom.
Honey, ur not looking well these days :,( are u okay? Please take care of yourself, it's okay to be nice to yourself
This just looks like Hobby Lobby in the US. I prefer Michaels, personally. But, to be real, I mainly use trash for crafts. One man's trash and all that.
I could spend hours in Hobby Craft and spend more money than I would like lol
Why is some of the audio a voice over, but then some of it sounds like audio replacement that sounds off/wrong, but doesn't sound the same as the voice overs... It's very strange.
i love watching you honey but please speak up your older fans cant hear your sweet little voice very well
