I often wondered how the well known miniature portrait painters did their work. The right tools make the difference. Your small canvas paintings were beautiful. I need a detail brush!! Loved the miniature art you created. All turned out much more detailed than I thought possible. The rose in the tiny book was fantastic. You did really well holding those teeny pencils, think my hands would have cramped up.

Those mini items are SO cute, even if they are somewhat impractical or just not functional at all. Crayons are already a vit less accurate than pencils so I think getting a good sharp result from the tiny colouring pages was always going to be challenging. The art works you made on the canvases and in the tiny watercolour book were all awesome though! My favourite is the sunset pier one.

Woohoo and happy day! Minis have arrived! It’s all so cute!! That trolley looks like my art cart, luv it!! And the mini m&ms look GIANT! I didn’t know JB had a mini book! Lovely watercolors and it’s really really easy to over think water color or gauche- a hole I often fall into with my fledgling watercolor ability. You still turned out a nice painting! As soon as I saw the video of the M&Ms, I thought “they just look normal size!” Because they looked SO big compared to everything else 😂

This is just the most adorable art supply collection I've ever seen!!! I'm slowly collecting miniature things to make a doll house true to a specific size. This makes me want to do an art studio as well 😁

You're a girl after my heart! I LOVE miniatures and have actually thought about doing something like this as well. There are actually tutorials showing how to make more of your own miniature art supplies, too. There's an idea for you for a future video (ie creating a mini "masterpiece" completely with your own, homemade, miniature art supplies). 2:36 P.S. I can't believe you actually found an itty bitty self-healing mat!

For years I created nail art. So yeah it is challenging but also makes you simplify what is really needed 😅

Schmincke Horadam watercolors are actually professional grade water colors and are really expensive. Strange that there was no color in them.

Beautiful work! The long bristel brush is called a rigger or liner brush and is made especially for long lines but works great for details too. 😊

This was entirely too much fun! I've always loved miniatures and am so glad that they're really popular right now. My favorite was the mini canvases at the beginning.

I'm thinking these are for people who collect miniatures for shadow boxes or doll houses? But your actually using them was fun to watch!

The mini artworks turned out great for how small they were, AMAZING job!! 😊🩷

One of my local libraries use to (before covid) do a monthly tiny painting class. We use acrylic paint. It was fun, and it was nice to finish a project in 2 hours. I wish the library would start the class back up, but the new director isn't a fan of stuff like that, so he's pretty much not approving any adult art program. I hope he leaves soon...lol.

This is inspiring me to color in my own Johanna Basford coloring books! Normal sized tho haha ♥️ Also love when your cat makes an appearance! He’s so cute! :D

As far as using watercolor on canvas I just did a bit of research on it a few days ago. From what I read you dont normally do it because it lacks the absorption to be able to do things like a wet on wet in the same way that paper allows for. That being said it seems that you are going a bit heavier which it probably fine. I think they came out good. I love Kristies brushes. It looks like you have both sets. I only have one so I am very jealous. Also I think Sarah needs her own doll house where she can decorate a couple studio rooms with all the minis

I’d love to makeover a dollhouse! Totally beyond my skillset, but maybe teaming up with a pro in the future could be fun. The watercolor on canvas makes sense. It felt like an acrylic/watercolor hybrid. Which I didn’t mind.

This would have been a great April Fools video. Use teeny tiny supplies and pretend like everything’s normal.

Sarah, you are completely mad, but your joy is so infectious. I’m a sucker for mini things. My grandkids used my polymer clay to make stacks of mini MacDonalds food items. I mean LOTS! As for the things you bought on Amazon, who even thinks to do those things? Thanks for bringing me some early morning joy.

My daddy made Walgreens sell one to me they only had for display. My mom bought me a mini bouncy house which I let my pet mouse play in

I love watercolor on canvas. But I would recommend getting watercolor canvas if you want to do it again. It has a lot less bumby squares and they are smaller. I use anything from a 3x5 to a 10x10 canvas panel. They are about 5$ for a 5 pack of panels at hobby lobby. I just recommend priming the panel with some water to get the color to absorb right and panels are made with cardboard so make sure to let the back dry, especially if you use a blow drier. Water color will bleed easily if you don't keep the panel fully dry between layers.

Amazing that people have made so many nearly accurate versions. The tiny paint tubes especially. The art all turned out so well, I like the tree a lot cos of the whimsical colours, but the rose is so good too.

Thank you for sharing your process. I think all of your creations look great. I seek my two favorites are the first item that you paint it that look like some sort of a sunset or sunrise and the Rose. I have found larger canvases or paper to be intimidating so I have been cutting my art teeth on smaller paper or in journals. On the few times that I've tried to scale up to a larger size I have found that my capacity to do that right now is not good at all. Thanks for the enjoyable video. Blessings.
