donuts and gravy You are absolutely correct. Art is a skill that can be learned, just like playing the piano. Stating someone is talented disregards all the sweat and tears. Sure, some people are more adept when learning certain skills so learn faster. Casey has worked hard to learn her skill and it’s her hard work that should be applauded.

the church in the field drawing is like… so good???? the amount of empty space gives it this eerie feel, and the heavy contrast and lack of life adds to it. I kinda love it

I never realized it until now but kasey actually does look like her art and her room reminds me of her art aswell, pretty bold flat colors and earthy tones mixed yet very pleasing to look at

Yenna in our school, ( probably not in some other schools) we all get tested in 1st grade to make sure we know the things we should know by the age, even the autistic and special needs kids. The test includes: primary colors, basic math and the alphabet. Recently, (by recently I mean about a year :p) and we all got it right! We knew everything. But we are still getting these things taught to us! The art teacher knew that we knew basic art. That resulted to us learning nothing in 2nd grade and 3rd! Most schools don’t take this test. We just can’t not learn anything for 2 years. Hopefully in 4th grade we will learn something different.(sorry for the long comment)(and my bad grammar)

Dude ant hills are everywhere around here. I like to sit and watch them work sometimes I help make their hill bigger. I have always appreciated their teamwork.

This ant illustration is the most beautiful thing i have ever seen. somehow this is very inspiring to me.

You could have used aphids for the petting zoo, there are some species of ants that keep them as livestock. ;)

youtube revolutionized the way we learn. it's not to say that people weren't able to do cool art before, but kids these days have access to so many resources to learn. And the social media community can help in the sense of people point out the mistakes or which direction to go.

What color do you use for the shadows? Id also love to see how you set up your palettes. How much water you use, do you had a bunch of water then add color to it? Do you just dip into the paint pans until you get the amount you want?? Curious to see all of that in detail. And def wanna know what colors you use for shadowing
