It’s been my favorite things to hang on my wall!
Kasey back then: I like my earthy colors Kasey now: I wanna go bright!

It’s just the nature of crayons and POSCA. 😅 But also… maybe… 😰

@@KaseyTheGolden Oh sorry it wasn't meant in a mean way. I actually find it quite fun seeing you enjoying the brighter colors. It also shows in the art that you're having fun. Whatever "palette" you choose, I'm all for it! 🌟

I wanna do both 😭
my father painted a self portrait back in collage. he used green as an underlayer for his skin, but ended up liking the look and keeping it green. it scared me as a kid, but i have it now.
i think, maybe she's green because the artist used the "verdacchio" technique where u start painting in green so it contrasts with the later skintone (assuming the portrait isnt done)

@@KaseyTheGolden Grisaille is the term i was trying to remember and I finally remembered to look it up! Many grisailles include a slightly wider colour range. Paintings executed in brown are referred to as brunaille, and paintings executed in green are called verdaille.
I lovbedd the green girl . It was fun seeing you drawing something this “moody”

I misread thrift as "theft" and was like Kasey wait a minute now 🤨 🤣😂😭

I would never!!!
I think the deer in a forest painting is definitely similar enough to the original. You have the brown of he deer in the brown on the tree. I love how you took the yellow highlights on the original deer's antlers and used it as the highlight on your deer's antlers. I love it! I love all of them!
Bob Ross would have been very proud of your landscape. Random thought but, honestly I'm always super impressed by people who can create emotive art without a figure in it. I feel like (being a people/creature focused artist myself) having a figure in a piece is like a cheat code to getting an emotional response from the viewer, because humans are so people focused. Abstract and non-figure art that's emotional is like magic to me, lol

I had to do an assignment just like you described in my Fundamentals of Design class. It was to create an abstract piece based on an emotion with a specific color scheme, like complementary, monochromatic, analogous, etc. I created sadness in monochromatic blue. I knew I was successful because everyone who looked at my painting said it made them feel sad. lol. I got an A. Oh and I'm a realistic portrait type of artist, not abstract or emotional at all. It IS difficult to do this kind of art!
I love that green girl painting. Yours and the original. Good job! I wish I knew who drew the original. So interesting
I have to say...I really love the deer drawing. Like, enough I wanna redraw it too. It's just so darn cute! Since I'm very "head empty no thoughts" lately, DTIYS and redraws give me an idea for what to draw. I think adding thrift art redraws could be fun too!
Love how all of these turned out but I also do love the original green woman painting! Your version was a great contrast.
I love the way these turned out! Adding little characters and different colors is what made it your style. I love that you didn't just try to completely redraw the original art, but did it as though you were given a prompt and could come up with the concept yourself!
I much prefer this over painting over someone else's hard work and possibly going over a thousands of dollars worth older painting!
The deer looks like the protector of the night… LOVE IT
I absolutely love this chunkier style when you use posca pens. Your process reminds me of both vector illustrations (flat blocks of color) and screenprint (working one color at a time in layers). I would love to see you talk a little bit about how you think your compositions out for your original work in a future video. Keep up the awesome work!
i believe in greg SUPREMACY. the pieces turned out great kasey
Such a fun and cool idea! I’ve never thought about thrift art! Makes me want to find a few pieces to give a makeover to for my channel! Such a fun video and congrats on the sponsor!
Omg when you recognize the landscape as a Bob Ross painting! :D Prob a redo but still, thats kinda cool!
1. BEST VIDEO TO WAKE UP TO! 2. I like the deer just because of the cute derpy face, plus the colors really pop😁💜 3. The last one you did is sooooo detailed and beautiful 🏞
This is so fun! While I'm not the artist of this specific painting, I have literally painted several portraits of deer in a forest. It's fun for me. I'm that artist 😅
please the way you held it upside down with the first painting it was just amazing defo a great video to watch before i have to work!!
I really love how you spun them into your art style, especially the last one!!

Thank you!! It’s really interesting to see the differences!
Your landscape reminds me a little of Dr Seuss illustrations, especially the trees :)
I love the third piece - it looks so cute! These thrifted paintings are totally something I would paint or recreate so for me it would be a challange to simplify and change it the way you do .... so everyone as their own challanges :3
I adore that she considers animals "characters" in her pieces. As they rightly should.
Omg when you started drawing those tiny black trees at the end of the landscape painting, my mind instantly went to Samurai Jack. I never thought your styles would match, but those trees are so representational of the angled style of Samurai Jack 😄

Samurai Jack has amazing backgrounds, for sure!!
i love how u referenced the deer painiting to a tarot card, it just made me so happy that u know what thoes are
I never thought the day Kasey would rather use purple colors over earthy green and brown would come but there we are. In any case I totally love how everything turned out 😍

As much as I hate purple, I tend to use it a LOT in my POSCA pieces. 😅
I honestly thought, when I heard the whole 'thrift store makeover' theme of the video, that you were going to do what artists like Moriah Elizabeth, NerdEcrafter etc have done. Essentially they go and grab a piece of pottery/wood/ornaments etc from the thrift store and turn it into something else. I honestly thought that you were going to Posca right over the top of Green Girl to make it a Kasey style painting. I like your way better because they can be displayed together and you can see where the inspiration came from. What did you actually paint Green Girl on? Was it a canvas board? I originally thought it was paper but Poscas eat up paper and you didn't seem to be having those issues. I want to find something other than wood that takes Poscas really well.
I’m digging the deer. Kind of reminds me of that one giraffe pokemon.
Also liked the landscape. You made made look soo cute with the black figures

The thumbnail interested me! This is a cool idea!
That last one is very cool! It reminds me of those really stylized posters of national parks.
All three pieces came out cute. My favorite has to be the green self portrait
Those two paintings looked so cool! If i saw those i might have been tempted to get them. There so good! I was surprised seeing a very detailed and beautiful deer! I just watched all the video and wow am i impressed! Kasey’s recreation painting were so creative! Out of all of them i loved the purple deer! I loved how it had this magical feeling to it! I remember when she did that Bunny with the landscape in her using a lot of crayons i loved the background as much as the silly character. So this landscape didn’t miss out of characters for sure!!
I can't get over that the nose of the girl looks like how Casey draws eyes in her style!
The deer!!! I am so here for it 😍💚
When you said tarot card that immediately made me think you should do a video or 2 where you design a deck of tarot cards like one of those challenges you do. I would love to see your style as tarot cards
Love your art style Kasey In the thumbnail you were drawing the statue of liberty

I love Tuna's art!! I just finished watching her latest video! Your take on each painting was so creative and fun! It made me want to try it, too
The landscape is so impressive! Truely inspiring how you simplied that!
wow i love those pieces!!!!! Especially the last one :D thanks for sharing!

I would LOVE A TAROT DECK like a propt thing, just mayor arcana, reading the meaning and doing an illustration
I hope you keep doing this theme! I love the concept so much!
I think the deer one is one of my favorite art you've ever done ! That and the magickal girl pig and goth cinderella !
I love your art so much. It's just so unique.
Beautiful drawing, very realistic, you draw beautifully, I love drawing these too, thanks for sharing!
With the deer having a slight tarot design I imagined it being the Magician Arcana for a deck!
I absolutely love your Posca pen videos. Your style complements it so well!
i just want your art everywhere in my home i love it so much
I love your "cartoony" style *can't really do realism myself..*
OMG!! Now all I can think of is a tarot deck in your style and I can’t stop obsessing over how amazing that would be!!
I simply love your style and I hope my art is always valued, I guess we all do, yes? I have experienced seeing a picture I made removed from a frame that I had made and wondered what happened to the artwork? I believe that you did a wonderful job conceiving these artworks in your own style! I have art I treasure, I do wonder how it will end up after I die! Some of my family have been exposed as un-interested in art that is not a “real” thing, More Bob Ross than Jackson Pollock, well you know what I am saying.
O M G I love your illustrations so much! The thrifted paintings were so super cool but your versions knocked my socks off!! I think the deer was my favorite but they’re all so GOOD! Wow. What a great idea for a project and a video. If you made prints of those I’d buy them in a heartbeat. 😀 🦌 🐈⬛ 🌲 🧟♀️
I love this idea, and the pieces turned out so cool!
I would love to see these pieces as prints in your shop!
Just amazing all of three😍😍😍
When I saw the deer I immediately thought "Nope, It's Chuck Testa"
I think the green girl is persephone. She was goddess of spring growth and the people the souls because she is goddess queen of the underworld.
This was so much fun. Love it!!!!
Kasey is so cool and so are her arts ❤️
The last one is my favorite 😍
I love the green girl. Such a great piece.
This was a fun idea. I love the landscape one!
The dear portrait is definitely my favourite💖🌈
Love this idea!
Amazing as always!
Love when you do these.
It's the green giant's daughter was shocked when everyone bought the green beans and then partied!
man coming back to your videos is always amazing
Love drawings done with posca yours are awesome thank you 🙌🙌🙌
Landscape gave me nostalgia cuz it's high key giving dr.seus vibes
Omg my favourite has to be the deer 🦌😂 love your videos!
I LOVE your STYLEEEEEEEEE
What a clever idea! Great content 👍👏
Brilliant! ✌🏻🎨☕️

I really enjoyed the concept of this video. I think your version is most reminiscent of the original when you focus on pose/positioning and colour choices. Regardless, they all looked great!
Greg is back!!
The green girl painting was really cool. As an artist I feel a little sad when I see some cool art in a thrift store and I may never be able to compliment the artist. 😂
This was so fun!
Cute art as always Kasey
I know you hate doing landscapes but that’s one of my favorite pieces from you like ever that’s so cool I’d love to see you do something similar but not inspired by somebody else’s artwork but I loved seeing these in your style also loved the green girl but yeah I just hope you’ll give this comment a couple thoughts n maybe make something super cool in the future maybe not landscape maybe just a bunch of random stuff idk but love you great job
loved the deer!
Love them all. 💞✌

@@KaseyTheGolden I believe that the art donated to thrift stores and similar stores are from the possessions of persons deceased or moved into a care facility. The art they made or collected is not of value to their children or people cleaning out their homes!
This was so much fun! 😍👍
OMG the last piece reminds me of Samuri Jack....sweet childhood cartoons
That deer is so cute
Woooo, do this but with pieces from the Museum Of Bad Art!
that green braid looked like a green sausage at first lol 😀
When you started sketching out the green girl it looked very South Park to me.
Sounds like Kasey's video editing skills have improved slightly. She was able to add her post-production Sock Kasey voice over the video of her!
Love your vids!
I just "thrifted" (took it from the garbage bin's top, from a box) a unfinished Dragon Ball Z painting that looks pretty good, it's just not finished. I think I'll finish it and put it down near the trash cans where i found it and see if the person who started it will take it back :3
This was fun. Only thing - prob would have put shadow between the mountains.
