TOURING A BMX BICYCLE FACTORY IN TAIWAN W/ GT!! || E-LOG 011

Спорт

Have you ever wondered how those complete bikes get assembled and where and by who? Here's an in-depth look at a reputable bicycle factory in Taiwan that we got to tour while on the road with the GT BMX squad... Complete with hyperbolic test chambers, moving conveyer belts, wheel building machines, and much much more. This shit is pretty nuts, but major shouts to all of the factory workers out there who keep up cruising in the streets! Thank you to Ben Ward and GT for making this happen.

    Shout out to all the Taiwanese people for their hard work. My cult frame still going strong after 2 years

    When I first got my '15 WTP Justice complete bike, I saw "Made in Taiwan" engraved on the frame. I felt kinda sceptical about the quality. However, after watching this video, I feel bad for the workers because most of them are women and they look very hardworking. I should not judge their quality. With this, thank you for making my bike :)

    Cool, but it would be cooler if trade deals didn't make this kind of business unfeasible in western countries. Wouldn't it be cool if the things we purchased were made in the communities they have been purchased within ? The pollution savings alone would be extraordinary.

  • @adamsetia

    @adamsetia

    Marc Ariss what trade deals are you inferring to? Everything is more expensive in western countries from materials to labor. And why is it important for our bmx bikes to be manufactured in western countries anyways?

    Fbm makes frames in the US. So does Standard and S&M. They only run $20-$50 more than your average taiwan made frame and the quality is nicer.

    I remembered when gf was American made. It makes you me think on how many errors are made on a frame to wear if a weld is not done right it’s going to crack and break. Those gts don’t have a like a car does like back in the day. If there was a problem with it you take it back and fixed it and repaired it and you didn’t have to do anything. That’s why when you paid for a 400$ bike you got your money$$$$ worth not like these 800$ bikes.

    Who will build bikes when Taiwanese labor becomes too expensive for American companies?

  • @AmazingChinaToday

    @AmazingChinaToday

    2 жыл бұрын

    The same people, but the bike companies will be Taiwanese instead of American. America gives everything away, and the world will keep taking from America until there is nothing left to take. Giving away knowledge about engineering, manufacturing, and business processes, all has obvious consequences. US politicians are too corrupt, or too stupid, to respond to reality. It's very sad to see. This bike factory is actually less automated than most of the factories in China. There are factories literally filled with robots, like those wheel making machines. They will have 1 or 2 people monitoring 100+ precision robots that never get tired, and never sleep.
