Touratech OEM Crash Bar Reinforcement Bar Install: BMW R1300GS

Find yours www.touratech-usa.com/Store/B...
Note: ALL OEM CRASH BAR BOLTS SHOULD BE TORQUED TO 19NM! Disregard the incorrect note about one needing 55NM
If you have factory BMW crash bars on your R1300GS, you may have noticed the lack of any rearward bracing. Having no rear brace on the crash bar design leaves your 1300's cylinders vulnerable to serious damage during hard drops. Touratech has seen the need and designed a fix for this weakness in the factory bars. This set of reinforcement bars braces the rear of the OEM crash bars directly to the frame of the motorcycle, giving you the peace-of-mind you need when riding rough off-road tracks on your BMW.
Made of strong, 25mm thick electropolished stainless steel tubing, these reinforcements are a perfect match for the stock bars and complement their design nicely. The bars are easy to install and come complete with all the necessary mounting hardware.

Neat, looks good, nice explanation. But I hate that you waste zip ties on this. Single use plastics, boo, bad.

You're not wrong about that. That particular clamp can be difficult to hold in place while you get the bolt threaded in and this method makes that easier. You could accomplish the same thing with a velcro strap or strong tape or just ask for a helper. You certainly don't have to use that zip tie if you don't want to.
