Tour of Yamaha Ginza: Musician's Paradise in Tokyo, Japan
I'm very excited to show you Yamaha's flagship store/music facility in Tokyo Yamaha Ginza. As a musician KZreadr from Japan, this had been one of my dreams since I became a KZreadr.
Yamaha Ginza has 12 floors + 2 basements, each of which is dedicated to different musical purposes. In addition to being able to purchase anything related to music including all kinds of instruments and scores, you can enjoy virtual live music in their café lounge, take lessons in their Yamaha Music Avenue school, and attend concerts in 3 concert venues with different sizes and purposes, all in one cool-looking building! This is a mega music center that's unique in Tokyo, Japan.
During my visit and video recording, I had so much fun and learned a lot more about this building and Yamaha as a company. I hope you enjoy the tour, and one day you can visit this place and see it in person.
*Yamaha is not a sponsor of this video, although they were extremely kind to let me record their stores and facilities, in addition to providing all the assistance I needed.

Mami cameo! The high tech "life performance" was super cool 🤯 Also love the instruments made from reclaimed wood
Thank you for sharing this fantastic tour!
So, is this what heaven is like. As far as the ability to distinguish one piano from another? I’m listening on a cell phone…they all sound the same.

Oh yes, it may sound pretty much same on cell phone speakers. Please try with better speakers when you get a chance. It made a huge difference on my Amazon computer speakers :)

The second piano is much more resonant. Of course you can't tell the difference listening through a potato.
It's sad how many stores are disappearing with many people buying online. I'm trying to purchase more of my stuff at stores instead of online, in order to help them keep their doors open. It's much nicer to look through sheet music and try pianos out in a big store like this, rather than gambling it on an online purchase. I remember we used to have 4 or 5 toy stores here in our relatively small city, and now there's only 1 left. This is the second video I've seen of a huge Japanese store focusing on once concept. Really seems great to spend the day there.

I totally agree. Online shopping is great, but sometimes we just want to actually see the product and choose. The night before this recording, I realized I left a tiny part of my tripod back in America, which made it totally useless. I freaked out, but luckily in Tokyo, there are electronic store versions of this everywhere. So I could stop by one and get a new tripod and use it for this recording. It was so nice to actually see what selection they have, actually touch and try, and get it right there. The store is smaller, but had much better selection of everything than Best Buy in America. I really miss excellent brick and mortal stores they have in Tokyo.
7:32 Sviatoslav Richter would be happy with this one. (CF4) Perhaps next time you could show us the their factory tour in Kakegawa, Shizuoka Prefecture.
wow CF4 sounds so much better than C1!!! Also, very interesting to see the self-playin live people-less band! I would love to see how those things work in detail. Maybe some day. If I ever go to Tokyo, this would definitely be in my must visit list.

Great video!

The CF4 has much more clarity
Yamaha cf4 is so good ❤
thanks. I have visited the super store in 2017. A pity that you did not show the fantastic acoustic Yamaha guitar collection, something I would be interested in, too much piano stuff, which I don´t care about. Amazing building!

They do have fantastic collection of all instruments, but I couldn't fit all of it in a video. I'm a pianist myself, so I can't help being piano-focused :)

Hi Akira! Is that a place where you can actually buy or just a show room? Thank you for the tour!

Thank you. I'm slowly editing all the videos I shot in Japan. There is something that's slowing down my production right now, which you will find out in a future video, but I'll get back to making more videos in the future. Thank you for your patience!

My Piano Is YAMAHA
8:27 "And you discuss business here"っていう英訳は文脈に合わないかと思います。B2Bのような表現じゃないですか。This is a meeting space for Yamaha sales staff and customers who are interested in purchasing a piano..などで良いじゃないですか

They are saying the same thing, except your suggestion sounds more academic. For this video, I translated original English into Japanese subtitle, and my Japanese is rusty, so it can be unnatural to Japanese audience. But I hope the point is conveyed. That's the most important thing.

Sure, if that makes you feel better :)
From my experience, music stores in Japan do not like it when non-Japanese enter.

At least from my experience interviewing people here, this place seemed to encourage everyone to experience what they offer. They also had English and Chinese speaking staff members. It seemed like there were as many foreigners as Japanese people in Ginza during my visit, so business landscape may be different here.
