Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Tyler and I recently renovated a Vintage Scamp Trailer. This trailer is a 13ft. beaut we decided to name Bernadette. In this video I give you a tour of the trailer and talk about the decisions we made to maximize space in the trailer as well as make it as efficient and livable as possible. Hope you enjoy and find something useful!

Scamp should make their beds like you have created yours. I absolutely adore your scamp! It’s beautiful!
My dad is retired from Scamp. He started in 1973 making the shells in the factory up in Backus, MN. Your renovation made his day. Truly one of the nicest ones we’ve seen. You’ve got a real gem there. Enjoy!

That’s amazing to hear thank you so much!
WOW, I am truly amazed at what you've done with such a tiny space... The sliding bathroom door and a real closet! !!! Someone has a designer touch as well, you have INSPIRED me...
I am obsessed with tiny trailers. I have watched every make over video and saved hundreds of pics on my pinterest page and THIS one is my FAVORITE inspiration trailer. LOVE IT!!
Looks great. Very sharp looking finish.
This is adorable, thanks for sharing
I have been wanting to buy a scamp but haven't liked the way they have been designed on the inside. Now I have seen a design I like. This is the best designed Scamp for my preference.

Hey I'm glad you were able to find the video! We couldn't find a premed Scamp with this design either so decided to go ahead and do it ourselves haha, maybe that's your best plan of action!
So cute! Just paint the wood around the fan, it will blend in. No stove, only thing missing! The bed slide is pretty cool. Great job kids! Happy camping.
Awesome! 👍🏼

Did I miss the shower? Like how you have organised the space you have. Have to disagree on the toilet (see Slim Potatohead vids), and the no fridge. But you will road test the little Scamp and see how everything works. Did I miss the cooking setup? Good luck with your road trip plans
Great reno!! The bathroom and closet are good ideas. Nice use of space.
That is the best layout for a scamp that I've seen...terrific job on that
Wow great renovation!!! Love scamps. Such an awesome looking camper. You did a really nice job on this.

haha thank you we saw those lawn chairs and had to pick them up it was too perfect!
@Chris Burrow This is quite literally THE BEST designed and looking 13' Scamp renovation that I have come across so far. The decision to keep the bathroom in the camper -- was extremely-wise -- and -- the design-conversion of the table-bed into that of an Ikea-like sectional-styled sleeper -- was really nothing short of brilliant. Also -- I just love the use of the light color theme and of the curtains for reasons of both decor and practicality. You two did a fabulous job. Kudos to you both. Subscribed and will also -- like, share and recommend. .

Love the bathroom idea! I just bought an abandoned late 1970s Scamp for $300 that needs a full renovation. I think I would make a toilet / shower combo.
You all did a beautiful job! So light and airy! Looks like home!💜God bless you both! Happy Travels and stay safe!🙏🏾🎉🎊

I really want to learn to do all this myself. All I can find are videos showing what wonderful things you did. And yours is the MOST beautiful. How did you learn how to install the water pump, for example? Or the grey and fresh water tanks? Is there a book or something? LOL I feel like there’s a secret society and I can’t find it.
Great work man -! And the backyard looks familiar 😏😏

The frame for the roof fan does not have to look great, practicality and performance is much more important. Roof panels are totally ace, you did a great job on the design guys, well done, greetings from Scotland :))

WOW. Great creativity. Nice "diy" job too. I think Scampi and Armadillo Campers could benefit from your ideas, and build customizable campers similar to yours. I refer particularly, to the toilet and closet additions. Also, to each his own, but I would perfer a fridge ... solar could keep the batteries charged. And they make them the size of coolers too.
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
We looked at the fridge and electric, wasn't quite sure how much the fridge would pull and drain, so we decided to simply get a cooler. In retrospect three panels would easily handle the additional need from a fridge

I know folks usually think lawn chairs . . . BUT if you carefully scour $General stores, those round saucer chairs have been creeping back into them😅
LOVE the actual bathroom, idk if ive ever seen a build that didnt have the toilet in the middle of the kitchen.

Great work in just four months. I've been working for over two years on my 1977 Trillium..... I would have kept the original closet to the right of the door, as that provides structural strength for the door strike plate. Good work with the water too.

I notice those things in so many boat snd ‘vintage’ camper redux- the structural dependencies of bulkheads and cabinets are often ignored.
Amazing work, wow!!! So light and airy. I recently picked up a 1977 13’ Scamp and need to replace all the old ensolite walls and ceilings. Its very shredded up currently. I saw below that you put up vinyl. Did you add additional insulation as a moisture barrier? Any tips and tricks on your process would be so appreciated. I’m trying to figure out best solutions to the bare fiberglass once I remove what’s there. Adhesive, insulation, the final “skin.” Thank you so much for any help and well done. So psyched for you :) David

We did add a thin layer of foam before the vinyl finish. As far as putting it up, cutting into triangles seemed to help us move throughout the cabin better!

Suggestion for that wonky wood slide for the bed. Coat the edges with bees wax. The wood on wood will slide better.
This looks so good! I noticed you had a roof fan where the regular hatch would be. How did you make that work since the hatch is wider than the fan?
GREAT job! Did you have to replace any windows? I am having a hard time finding windows for mine.
Cool camper🌻what amp hour(ah) is your battery? And bravo for setting up plenty of solar🌼
Nice job. Pretty sure it's a Boler though.
Very Well Done! Lots of Fun in the Future with this little house. Why id you not put your collection of grey water t the front of the trailer with the battery so you could store double the fresh water? Just wondering if it was a strategic placement for some reason so I know if I choose to reno a trailer.

Hey Thank you! We were just hoping to keep the water under the sink as it's more complicated to do plumbing into the front
So cool camper! You really seem to have put your heart and soul into the renovation ... but I wonder ... Do you have a small movable dining table?
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
We bought a portable desk that we use for work and dining! It folds flat than when pulled out we can rest it on the cushions over our lap!
Looks fantastic. Good work! Which tongue box is that? I’ve been having a hard time finding the right size/fit for our 13’ Scamp.
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
Hey thank you! So we went to Ace hardware for our tongue box I believe we got the largest they had and although it isn't a perfect fit we made it work by securing it with U bolts to the tongue!
where you hiding the washer and dryer? and the shower...lol....just kidding, what an awesome renovation

Hey Bill! Thank you for the compliment! We used vinyl, cutting it into triangular pieces to shape and glue around the inside. After that, we caulked in the spaces between the vinyl, waited for it to dry, then painted!

Any issues with frame support? I've seen some other folks mention that if you take out the original closet and dinette supports, you'll need to add some sort of support mechanism so the fiberglass frame remains structurally sound.
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Oren, Zero issues, we added the wall for the closet and bath and made sure that would be support enough!
How much is the finished weight after the reno? What year is it? How did you get such a smooth interior ceiling? Did you fiberglass the interior and then repaint it? Seems like the ones I’ve seen recently have lots of ceiling stuff that you could hit your head on.
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
Hey as far as the weight I'm unsure. The interior ceiling we used a smooth fabric, and then caulked in the space in between.
Where did you get that gold/black swivel light? Looks great, nice job!
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
Hey! I believe we bought that from CB2 and refit the wiring to be compatible with AC
Who's idea was it to cut the factory closet in half? I like it but I'm pretty sure that was a support for the roof.
Curious, some of the mods have taken out some cabinets and the vertical iron pieces. I heard removing these could create problems with integrity of the whole shell. Thoughts?
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
So we reinforced the shell as well as slats and extra fiberglass along the sides and top
Awesome build. Bathroom was a surprise. Is it possible to waterproof and convert to a toilet+shower space?
@chrisburrow4724
3 жыл бұрын
So we looked into that, It would be pretty difficult, and if you did want to store additional shower water in the camper, plumbing would get drastically more complicated. As well, the water itself would be an additional weight.
Looks great! How do you cook? No propane tank?
