The area where you come in is called a courtyard. A very good price at just $300.00/month.

This was really insightful, for $300 in the states you couldn’t even rent out a bathroom for 2 days 😂, so Egypt is looking really affordable! Thanks Akh!

I’m in new cairo too. I have a basement apartment though so we get all the outside space private for just us which is nice. I think 9000 for the size you have is way over priced. Mines 6500 for 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and way bigger rooms. The trick is to get someone who speaks Egyptian to get you a place. You do pay more for furniture though but still that’s a lot. Absolutely love that roof space though!

Dryers are not common in the middle East at least from what I know from living in the UAE and being American Egyptian. Mostly its because 1 most people dry their clothes on a drying rack outside or if they live in a small apartment they use a clothing line and pins out on the balcony to dry their clothes in the sun.

How long did you had to learn Arabic in order to speak with the locals? Because if you move to Egypt, not everyone can speak English so I wonder how long it took you to learn the language

He said if yall dont have 2 washrags yall dirty😂😂 So what about bills? water bills, light bills, internet? Whats the average prices for those. And whats the process for getting them turned on? Do you pay the landowner or have to go somewhere to get it turned on like we do in the States? Thanks for the tour!

  • @authenticallyab

Lol. The water bill is a set price every month normally. The electricity varies, they have a new system now where you have a meter and a card that you reload money on to of which you insert into the meter to pay you electricity which seem to be more expensive in my opinion. Other than that, you'll just receive a bill each month that you have to pay when the electricity poeple come to your building. Hope this was helpful

Don't leave the country until at least you finish your hifz and get at least 1 ijazah. And make sure your lugha is upto at least قطر الندى level. All the best in your studies.

95% of the world does not have a clothes dryer. Only Americans. Why? Because it is incredibly expensive in energy cost to just dry your clothes. If you put the clothes on a rack, they dry naturally for free. Closets? Almost all U.S. house construction is wood frame. Even wealthy people. In the rest of the world, it is concrete. The material/labor cost to pour a closet in a room (in concrete) is maybe 20% extra? It also introduces ventilation and electrical problems. Easier to just make the room square (in concrete) and let the resident finish it with a closet/wardrobe.
