Tour Lake Chapala

Many Americans moving to Lake Chapala have asked me, “Can you make a video that is a tour of Lake Chapala?” Or they have asked, “Can you make a video about what to do in Lake Chapala?” Or they have asked, “How about if you make a video tour of Lake Chapala?”
This video delivers the answers to those questions.
If you are thinking about moving to Lake Chapala, this video tour of Lake Chapala will give you a bit of an insight of what the city, or town you may say, is like. If you are interested in exploring Lake Chapala, this Video, “Walking through Lake Chapala,” will give you an idea of what it's like here.
If you are wondering, “What to do in Lake Chapala?” then this review of Lake Chapala might help you out.
Many people have said that Lake Chapala is the safest place in Mexico for Americans to live in. Maybe this Video Tour of Lake Chapala will give you more information.
This video also includes nice walks in Lake Chapala and tennis in Lake Chapala..
We hope you enjoy our video tour of Lake Chapala.

    Hi Bill, great tour video, thanks! I'm watching your other ones as well. I enjoyed the history & really liked the drone footage. The year round temperate climate around Lake Chapala is the biggest draw for me, and being near nature too. I'm still a long ways from retirement, but already planning, since my area is expensive. Going to start looking into making money online so I can maybe relocate to a more affordable area sooner. Quick question - what's the mosquito/ flying bug situation there? Also, I saw from another comment that you might be ok with answering some more specific questions via email? Could I ask you a few as well? Thanks alot! Happy New Year. : )

    Hi Bill, I have been watching your videos for about 2-3 months. They are very well done, informative, and you are very personable. I am 70, semi-retired (writer) and want to retire outside of the United States on a budget so I can save a little and do some traveling. After researching the globe for about a year I had narrowed it down to Portugal and Mexico, for different reasons. My 3 adult sons live in Los Angeles and San Diego, so I am leaning toward Mexico to be a short air flight away from them. At first I thought I liked Puerto Vallarta, but now I am leaning more towards the Lake Chapala area. I still like Portugal and Europe, but I hope I can be swayed to land in Mexico. If Covid ever lifts, I plan on a trip to Mexico this winter or next spring, and plan on visiting the Lake Chapala area. Thanks for your videos. They really help… Johnny

    Howdy John, thanks for your compliments. We try to do a good job. Everywhere in Mexico is a little bit different, but I love it all. I guess it depends on what you are looking for in life. Puerto Vallarta is very active and on the beach, but very hot in the summer. Chapala is a great climate, but no beach. The more I live here in Mexico, the more that I learn there is a lot to experiance. I can only suggest that you find a spot down here for a while, and then travel around while you are here. Hope that helps a little. Best, Bill

We never eat any fish from the lake and we understand that the lake is terrible. They had a great fish in the lake at one time, it was called, "White fish." White fish vanished. Chapala and the surrounding areas are beautiful. We eat ocean shrimp, ocean fish, and sometimes, King Crap Legs. Stay well, Bill the Geek

  • @BillDallasLewis

    @BillDallasLewis

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi there, thanks for the message. Taking the bus from Chapala to and from Ajijic. Those buses are running all of the time. You don't have to go to the bus station to get one of those, you can get one on the street, and the cost is below 10 pesos. I prefer to take a taxi when going from Chapala to Ajijic and back, that will cost you 100 pesos or $5.00US. With the virus, many times the buses are packed and some people do not wear mask. If you want to go to Guadalajara, you want to go to the bus station and take the bus that is called, "Direct." When buying your ticket, you want to make sure that you say, "Guadalajara Direct." That means, your bus goes direct to Guadalajara and makes no stops. Plus, the direct bus is much nicer than the regular buses. If you don't say direct, you will make super many stops. That bus, last time we took was about 80 pesos or $4 US, that's a 1 hour ride. Personally, many times I will pay Uber to take me to Guadalajara. That will cost you between 300 to 600 pesos depending on what time of day you travel. Uber works well because the Guadalajara airport is only 20 minutes from Chapala, so many times, Uber drivers are hanging out at the airport and they can come and pick you up. Hope that helps, Bill the Geek

    Hi Jim, Welcome, I hope you enjoy your stay. We have a car. Nuevo Chapala is fine, but it's a bit out of the way. I have neighbors with no car, they take taxis everywhere, or walk. To walk in the middle of Chapala is about 13 minutes, not really that far. But now that I have a car, I'm a little lazy though we walk 4 or 5 mile s every morning. I like pedestrian traffic. A place like Ajijic or downtown Chapala would be great, but we live in Nuevo Chapala, which is fine, it's a trade off. It's really peaceful here. And, we have full time security. Hi Autumn, That is a very good question!!!! I've been here in Chapala for 3 years now and I am very happy. Some people say that Chapala has the best climate in the world. But,,,,,, when I went to Vallarta a couple of months ago, I feel in love with Vallarta again. It has everything. The only draw back I see is the summer months. It's really hot and humid, But if you can deal with that, Vallarta is a super place. The more places I visit in Mexico, the more I fall in love with them all. As I stay here and travel more, who knows where I will end up. Mexico is super. Best, Bill

    Hi Rosa, Go to Facebook and do a search for Expat Group Chapala, or Expat Groups Ajijic, and just make a posting of what you want to pay and what you want. I did that about 2 months ago. I said in my post that I only wanted to pay $500 US per month and I got a lot of responses. You can pay 500 US or much much more. I would say you can find a nice place for $500 to $700 per month. Best, Bill
