Tour de France 2006 - stage 19 (time trial) - Floyd Landis vs Óscar Pereiro for the yellow jersey

Спорт

Tour de France 2006 - stage 19 (time trial) - d. 22 July 2006 - Le Creusot to Montceau-les-Mines, 57 km.
This was the last chance for Floyd Landis to take back the yellow jersey from Oscar Pereiro Sio, who still had the lead by 30 seconds to Landis. Landis was the better time trilist but Pererio was not going down without a fight.
2end placed Carlos Sastre was struggling to defend his podium place, while 4th place holder Andreas Kloden was doing his best to get a podium spot.
Danish commentary.

Very, very few guys here not juiced. Pretty sure Carlos Sastre was clean. Cadel Evans was probably clean. I think both would have beaten a clean Landis, but you never know. Then, you have to look pretty deep into the results to find someone. Kloden, Menchov, Schleck, Rasmussen, Moreau, Cunego, Leipheimer, Boogard, etc. most of the others were either busted, or pretty directly connected to doping at some or most points in their careers. (Sorry, Oscar, don't think you were clean, but it sucks you didn't get the glory with the win)

@@PhilAndersonOutside Sastre clean? He was working with Bjarne Riis and, prior to that Tour, he was prepared to be the domestique for Ivan Basso....

@@jorgeeduardozamoraacosta8627 Yes. I realize that. Also Schleck was a teammate and friend, and he doped. But nearly all his teammates, and the media, said he was clean. Riis once asked, suggested to him about microdosing, and according to Riis it pissed Sastre off. Also, Sastre's big wins were all rather boring, and in races when most of the dopers were banned, or forced to microdose if they could due to very high scrutiny at the time. I have a hard time trusting any of these guys. And it's quite possible many of the cleaner riders turned blind eyes to various "treatments". I got the impression Jalabert was like that. Alex Zulle made similar comments when his career was over. Trust the doctors, and don't ask. That's why I said "pretty sure" on Sastre and Evans. Always got the impression at the very least Evans tried his best to race clean, even if he wasn't 100% clean the whole time.
