I should really tell myself it’s ok to cut out the last empty papers for later loose leaf use 😭😭 all my sketchbooks by the end of it I’ve improved so much I don’t wanna do good art at the last page while the rest of it is bad in my eyes, but also can’t let myself move on to a new sketchbook without finishing the old so I end up not drawing in a sketchbook for months till I just force myself to scribble something at the end 😅

Sometimes it’s really great to know what you’ve learned. A thing you could do with those last few pages is journal! Reflect about what you’ve learned about the materials or get feedback from a friend and record that there! I love mixing writing and sketches together because it feels more like my brain🤪

I very much agree … mostly because my sketchbooks are a jumble of scramble, and almost never get finished because I move on. But it’s ok because I have no interest in setting limits for myself

Awesome! And absolutely. The most important thing is for you to feel good, creative, and that you’re supporting your own learning journey. Whatever that looks like for you!

so fair! but having that set of rules or questions you ask in a particular sketchbook can really help you keep coming back to eventually finish! Hope that helps!

Wow, now I thought about it, it really does not make sense to use up all the left-over pages in a book just to "use them up". If you feel the book is finished, it's finished 🤔 the pages are just material for your art I was thinking, if I knit a sweater and I have like 27g of wool left after the sweater is finished, I don't keep on knitting just to use up the wool. I don't need three arms 😅 Or if you have clay left after making something out of clay, you don't add the left-over clay to use it up.

EXACTLY!!!! on another comment earlier I suggested something that im definitely going to start doing in the future, which is using those last pages to reflect on what ive learned. Happy sketch booking!

That’s ok! I think a big question for me for a long time was what is more important, recognition or freedom! And with sketchbooks, they are yours. It’s your decision to guide your learning at any pace that feels right. But I often feel driven to the recognition to rush something and have it be done. Our lives as artists are long and the path is meandering. If you’re stoked about a new inspiring place don’t fear it! Especially if you’re starting a new chapter of your work or life.

I get this so much & thanks for watching! I'm neurodivergent too but I had to slowly seam rip the shame I had around not finishing sketchbooks! And honestly the even bigger shame I felt not doing them at all... see if the prompt system helps you with keeping you inspired and knowing when the project or problem you were trying to solve is resolved!

For me it’s easier to just keep one Sketchbook bc I don’t have that much time to Draw anyway and it’s really demotivating if I don’t See my Sketchbook slowly filling up but I Really Like the way you do it Sounds fun :D Also Imma sunscribe bc u give off a nice vibe we gotta support :3
