Best title screen so far

Is it just me or does this OST feel a bit more serious than other OSTs like UFO's? For example, it was a great surprise that the first stage theme felt so deep in contrast to other jolly-sounding Stage 1 themes, such as At the end of spring. This not a complaint in any shape of form, ZUN's music never ceases to make me smile and feel so many things at once when listening to it, and this OST really felt different when compared to other games' soundtracks, but different in a good way :)

ZUN himself said this is one of the darker stories in the franchise, so yeah, I'd imagine that serious note is intentional

Some of the older games had more melancholy and introspective Stage 1 themes, mainly Touhou 2, 7 & 8

Well, the girls go down to hell, possessed by animal spirits to stop a war between them and a creator god, not to mention the spirits that shows on the way (first boss being a stillborn spirit). When Zun said this game had a darker tone, he wasn't kidding. i think the ost is the lightest and happiest thing in this game.

probably one of my favorite soundtracks out of any touhou game

Best stage theme: "The Lamentations Known Only by Jizo" Best boss theme: "Entrusting this World to Idols ~ Idolatrize World" and "Prince Shoutoku's Pegasus ~ Dark Pegasus" are equally epic.

I swear I'm like half of the Electric Heritage replays because thats my favorite song out of the whole ost. All the songs rule but that one just goes so hard. Establishing Keiki's leitmotif and also. GEETAR.

i honestly forgot that this game existed, still haven't 1cc'd it either, i think it's finally time

Stage 3 theme is really nice, woulda been a classic if it was in the older games

The stage themes from Wily Beast and Wicked Creature may be my favourite. Everlasting Red Spider Lily and Electric Heritage in particular but all of them are among the most memorable of the series, in my opinion.

11:49 is so weird without the sounds of those goddamn balls flying around

Just 1CC'd this game on Normal today, playing Youmu Otter. That stage 6 is one of the best in the entire series by visual presentation and music alone. Lotsa people dislike the newer stuff, but I love this OST's darker tone and almost "rock-like" vibe. The metal guitar here is even more distinctive than in IN or DDC (which is where I remember hearing those crunchy metal guitars the most). The tone is dark, but it's not not sombre and operatic like LoLK, but almost kind of... edgy? "Chuunibyou"? Honestly super unique, I enjoy it a lot.

It starts to get serious from 31:25 >=o

Wait a minute. I just realized. Keiki, Yachie, and Saki's boss themes also has the ~ thing in it! No other bosses has ~ in their stage nor boss themes
