+IA Vocaloid I think so too. The first card's stars is static in Hard and Lunatic, but purely random in Normal, makes it much more difficult to clear. Up till now I still can't clear the card on Normal even after almost 100+ tries, but I managed to clear it in Hard in less than 20 tries...

Dony HP Pretty sure the card is static in normal, but the stars don't have a set pattern.Try to stay near the left laser (I'm not sure what to call it) and away from the right part of the screen if the moon isn't there.

Wow, and I thought this stage was insane... The second spell is harder on Normal. You have to weave through a few waves of stars (fired like her nonspells) before the next lasers show up. It's terrifying. I always thought the "puzzle" laser card was really hard because the lasers move in weird ways. To each their own, I guess.

And somehow, this is NOT the final boss

You can practically see the joy in him when he zig zagged at the end.

Holy shit, I got anxiety just watching this. I feel maybe Lunatic is "easier" than Normal because you can graze more for life pieces.

The first spell card of Clownpiece in normal is not really normal. a randomized star patterns is very hard to dodge. that's why on clownpiece level., its a "normal is insanely hard, Lunatic is suprisingly easy"

I think you got affected by Clownpiece, because only an insane person can do this! _im sorry_

Ah well, I was hoping for some advice and strategies for making Junko easier, but I guess micrododging rings of bullets don't have much of a mystery anyways. Specially knowing that the hitboxes are fucked up, that unmotivates a lot. Congratulations on this one though, had no idea how to do the 3rd spell, I'll try doing that.

I didn't see any problems in the hitboxes in Junko's fight. In fact, I found them to be perfectly accurate with their size. Also, none of Junko's attacks are pixel perfect. The margin of error is small but still aknowledgeable, even on Lunatic.

I guess you could say Jaimers thought stage 6 was...*Junk*o. YEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

1:21 I get so excited everytime she (Clownpiece, she’s a Touhou Project™ legend) says the line. “It’s Lunatic time”. I am even shaking right now while writing this. I can not contain myself. My digestive system gets a temporary boost, I immediately shoot up from my seat , point my finger at the screen and shout SHE SAID IT! This has happened for 317 times now (everytime i play the stage). My parents have disowned me but I am happy as long as I get to hear the line. I love Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom!

I used to be a crazy fan of Clownpiece, and because of that i remember her whole theme.

Wow. Clownpiece's first spell actually looks EASIER on Lunatic than it is on Normal, if only because the stars aren't shot in seemingly random patterns. Also, what if you settled for a bit less for Stage 6? Like a perfect Hard mode clear, rather than Lunatic? Then again, it's bullshit even on Normal, especially the third spell which outright and inevitably walls you unless the RNG is feeling merciful.

@@thatonepersonnoonecaresabo3163 It's definitely possible. I almost did it a few times without using bombs. I was in PointDevice mode, so it was without getting hit either. I ended up getting frustated and used a bomb, but I was like 2 seconds away from doing it

I feel like the first survival and second spell are much harder on normal than lunatic, in the first one stars are completely random and the second one the tiny-stars have a bigger hitbox and grazing them before the laser hits you is horrifying. As for stage 6... well it's made for pointdevice although I think Zun could have balanced her a bit for legacy players.

The second one I find it easier on Normal because the tiny stars usually leave a small path in the middle that you can follow, and they're also concentrated in a smaller area, so it's easier to see the whole thing, while the bigger stars in hard and lunatic are all over the screen, and I don't have the time to see where's a path I can use to dodge them.

The one problem I have with this games is how the point squares(I can't remember their name!) float down *slowly* when grazing. when the screen is covered in them, it's hard to tell what's going on...

And I thought clownpiece on lunatic would be stupidly insane, turns out she was actually easier than in normal, maybe because the lasers disappear faster, kinda disappointed.

I just noticed that Clownpiece makes the Earth on top look distorted. It’s probably cuz of her ability :o

The first spell card in normal is kinda harder than the lunatic one, in normal star is spawned randomly that sometime it can force you into a dead end...

Now all we need is some crazy mofo to do this in a no bomb, no miss, pacifism mode.

Stage 6 being rubbish is probably something can all agree on, but how are you doing with the final spell in stage 6 itself? I have managed to NMNB the stage up to the very end of the survival spell already so i'd say that the perfect should be very doable if you can just handle that way too difficult final spell. --- Stage 5... yeah its alright. Really wish ZUN didn't make the star hitboxes so absurdly large though. Those non-spells are annoying.

I don't mind clownpiece being complete insanity, in fact that is her goal, to make you insane, but anyhow. I like her theme I like her design, I like the fact that clownpiece actually has the intelligence of an average person, and then there is the obvious 'Murica joke, but I love clownpiece more than most other characters (besides Marisa and sagume). And this is coming from a guy than can't get past her first spell card unless I spam bombs like no tomorrow, on NORMAL.

Not doing stage 6 eh? Understandable. Maybe it would be possible if your hitbox was as small as mushihimesama futari's hitbox

One of clownpiece's spell cards reminds me of Keepers Core boss fight from Gradius V.

The first spellcard actually seems harder on normal. The star bullets are random on normal rather than the nice static pattern you have here. Could be wrong though. I'm not very good at normal never mind lunatic.

So at some point the battle grows so intense that in order to dodge the fairy's attacks the witch must fly at relativistic speeds and use the moon's orbit as cover? How strong exactly are 2hus supposed to be?

weird, i dont find much difficulties difference between normal and lunatic other than different bullets, especially second spellcard. i guess the criticism is valid i guess

HTFCirno2000 Yes. Getting a sharp 720p picture at 60fps from a game with high contrast, fast-moving pictures after going through whatever encoding you use to record and also whatever re-encoding KZread shoves it through, is basically impossible.

lately touhou games are much easier: youmu, sakuya,rin even sanae in lunatic are another thing.

Easiest stage in the game imo. Not only is it extremely fun, but i find that it has significantly less bullshit in it compared the the other 6 _(looking at you stage 3)_ . Maybe its the most fair stage instead of the most easy because of how straightforward it is..

Is this the first and only stage 5 fary because that says a ton about clownpeices power ... also my favorite fary desine

Jezz ZUN whats happen? Lunatic is not so different from normal difficulty. All spellcards look similar, I miss when you put new patterns and spell cards in hard and lunatic (th6~th8) .

I think ZUN's mistake was developing the 6th Stage while taking out his trash.

Clownpiece is so weird difficulty wise, Last Spell is actually the stage 2 kind of easy, Her Second one is Phantasm Boss kind of hard. "No I'm not doing stage 6 because it's absolute garbage." Well, I'm not glad you think so, but okay I guess, it's better for your health I guess?

I didn't mean to imply I was talking about you. I was talking about how Jaimers is deciding not to do something simply because it's "bullshit." (read, too hard) People say "practice makes perfect" for a reason, and there are plenty of people (myself included) who think patterns Jaimers has cleared are bullshit simply because they cannot complete them without dying a bunch of times.

Isaac Cook It's... not the difficulty. The fight is just badly designed regardless. It's not as hard as say EMS AbEx (which Jaimers cleared) or RMI AbEx (which he _nearly_ cleared), probably.

Isaac Cook Junko as very simple, uninteresting spell cards that aren't all that fun to play. Same goes for the stage, really. Only ghosts and PK Starstorm/the Midi File/whatever you want to call that survival segment. I'm sure he's not intimidated by the difficulty, he just thinks the stage is not worth his time.

According to Sanae the fairies are generating an atmosphere that can sustain life because Junko purified their life force... I think. Something like that. Sanae freaks out when Clownpiece looks like she's about to go to sleep (she might actually mean die) because she'll suffocate if Clownpiece does so

Hey Jaimers, sorry for calling you a stupid gamer. But you're opinion on stage 6 is really too exaggerated. I will repost someone's comment to help you be contented with the stage 6. Please don't mark as spam. Reply if necessary. So here it goes: Alright. I know that I'm late to the party, but I feel that this needs to be said. I want to shoot down some of the arguments I've been seeing against Junko and her design. 1. "Her theme sucks." Opinion. Doesn't mean fact. If you don't like it, I can respect that. But come on, you alone aren't to decide what is good music or bad music from an objective point of view. At least this theme tries to reflect the sheer amounts of anger and rage that is in Junko. 2. "Her attacks are extremely bland but utterly rage-inducing." I can somewhat agree, but they're supposed to be like that. Junko's power is to purify anything. Her attacks have to reflect that power; they have to be simple but extremely difficult. It provides an accurate manifestation of Junko's abilities in danmaku form. 3. "Even if Junko is supposed to be 'pure,' she's still boring. She shouldn't have been designed like this in the first place." I disagree. Purity is a recurring theme throughout LoLK. Seiran tries to purify you. So does Ringo. Doremy removes your nightmares. The Lunar Capital in Stage 4 is purified. Clownpiece is made of pure life force, nothing else. Therefore, in my eyes, it would be very fitting to have the final boss be purity itself, the "climax" to all the purity from before. Now, some people might still be thinking, "I still hate Junko!" and I will respect that, because it is your opinion, which you are entitled to. However, I just want people not to take things at face value and make misguided, uninformed judgements from that. Dig a little deeper, it wouldn't hurt.

Because you haven't actually tried it on lunatic difficulty. I can tell you without a doubt that it is harder on Lunatic difficulty than it is on any other difficulty setting. It may be more fair because of the organized bullets, but it's definitely not easier. The gaps between the red bullets are much smaller and faster moving, and that's the real threat. It's a lot harder to keep up with than it looks.
