Absolutely. If he took his wife's name as an adult does that really qualify as part of his middle name? Generally in Western culture formal names are bestowed at birth by parents. "Nick names" are acquired later in life but they are not considered formal.

REALLY!!! It seems to change exponentially, as well. If I had to write in the names of the countries on a globe of the world outlining ALL the present day countries, I would FAIL miserably. I know there's 7 continents but the countries and all the cities there in, are so vastly different from what we learned in the 60s... I'm grateful for the library of knowledge my brain contains; sadly though (sort of), I'm highly selective of what I add to it. Too much unnecessary clutter! Superfluous jibber don't you think

Good quiz ... I scored 92/100 ... 4 wrong in each half. a few clarifications: question 59 - The Arabian Desert is actually larger than the Gobi Desert but is considered part of the Sahara, hence the Gobi is considered the largest desert in Asia. question 81 - Big Ben refers to the bell inside the tower, which is called The Elizabeth Tower
@johntatum1951
4 ай бұрын
The Question was for the largest in Asia...so Gobi is correct.
@jimmeade2976
4 ай бұрын
@@johntatum1951 I agree that Gobi is the correct answer. I am just pointing out that some people say the Arabian Desert is the correct answer. Geography experts consider the Arabian Desert, which is in Asia, (mostly in Saudi Arabia) and larger than the Gobi, to be a part of the Sahara Desert, not a desert in its own right, and therefore Gobi is considered the largest. FYI, Gobi in Mongolian means desert, so to say Gobi Desert is redundant.

Ja Fritz, sehr gut! Ich hatte das auch gesehen. He also pronounced Iago's name wrong (said Lago!) And a couple of Norwegian words incorrectly (I had trouble with them, also) However, x=9 was his biggest mistake and catching that shows you know the right answer. Bottom line-- 95 out of 100 questions & answers read correctly in succession earns an A- in my opinion UND, Fritz, du hast auch sehr gut gemacht!

Exactly.. the crash was very late in 1929, October I believe. The depression began in the 30's in fact more toward the middle of it. Lotta people don't know the cause but it was because 90% margin buying was allowed with no other restrictions. Joe Kennedy made a fortune in the market he shorted everything. Quiz Time, just a free Spanish lesson here re. Q about Mexico's currency: choice #1 is KATE-sahl, named after a beautiful wild parrot down there. In 14, blood doesn't clot normally. Re. 17, 'nh' in Portuguese (choice 1) is equal to the "en-yay' in pina colada, and 'gn' in Italian and French. In reference to #38, if I remember correctly from one of my favorite old movies, Leonidas was the Greek general in the Battle of Thermopilae. In #64, you said #9, but gave the correct answer of 8. In #97, the front part of a boat/ship rhymes with 'now', and in 98, #3 is BRIZ-b'n, rather than 'bane'. I guess it depends on what you classify as "great", as I got only 78 right.
