Touching Peace | An Evening with Thich Nhat Hanh

A lovely public talk by Thay offered in Berkeley, California, in the late 1980's, introduced by poet and environmental activist Joanna Macy.

It was a great gift to know him through his books, through his talks, and through simply watching him walk on the earth. He is as present now as he was when he inhabited his body. 💛🙏🏻🌻

@@anneboland4575 Thay will never die. His teachings will always help many people to cope with suffering and daily problems. Unfortunatelly, I only got to know Thay for one year ago. But since then I've been blessed a lot with his wisdom and precepts. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! 🙏

It’s hard to believe, but he actually wasn’t that young here. If the talk was given in the late 80’s he would have been around 70 here. That’s hard for me to believe! He lived to almost 100!

@anneboland4575 he's still more present than half the people walking around out there, distracted and fractured by their own thoughts and their phones

Wow this is one of the best talks I've seen him do and I've watched quite a few. Timeless wisdom. Lots of overlap with modern western psychology. However this obviously came first. Habit energy is called 'patterns of relating' in psychodynamic therapy.

such a good teaching - I can see many points in myself and in my son... still difficult for me to forgive everything when my son hurts me and is disrespectful to me... :-( I am mindful and would be there for him but he refuses... So I still don’t know what to do... I still hope my meditation will help me... Such a great teaching - one of my fav 🙏🏻 and I saw hundreds from TNH ❤️

Teaching Myself That I Am.. The Cancerous Tower Destroying Myself.. The Innocent New Sprung Blade Of Grass, Both Being Of The Same Parentage.. is not helping. Can we hate it here so much.. In the injustice of this age, or be relentlessly tormented and tortured for doing the right thing ? I believe, in ignoring this.. as we may have to, in our fake joy, we shall die EVERY DAY, Like The Dead, Already Do. Im sorry, that is my understanding of the saddest of all truths, in the age of this existence. Turn the films off, this is our reality. 😢
