DJ and producer here and I actually find this interesting as a creative tool for music production. Also, the fact that it can also do other things is great. The price tho, I think it's just a bit too high. If only it was a little cheaper, I would consider buying one of these.

@@ThatFilmisGnarly Well, sure. But it's like the difference between drawing notes on a piano roll and playing on a real keyboard. Sometimes it's just faster and better to use the piano roll, but sometimes, when you are looking for some sort of creativity, playing on a keyboard is just better. And I feel it's the same thing here. Sure I can do all the stuff with automations, but playing with something like this might help to be more creative. That's also why I said I would consider buying it only if it was cheaper.

The tunes in this video are super smooth.

i LOVE this. I want one with all the bits. a tiny bit of feedback would top it off. The idea that this can save heaps of different gizmos into one pad with some rubber mats is awesome.

Goes to show how well Linus is able to translate the team’s research into short and concise vids. If they wanted they could hire a couple of experts and take a big chunk of that sweet delicious online music gear review pie and instantly become one of the bigger players. Thing is that smaller KZreadrs who currently do these reviews aren’t able to go head to head with bigger companies and in turn take their sponsorships and give great reviews to make money. LTT wouldn’t have this problem as I’m sure they, as a company, have a higher revenue than most synth companies for example. If they would branch out into this market it would be something unheard of at that scale and might change the market for good. Buuuutttt unless this video is meant as a resume to music companies, not going to happen..

@@djhokage1 Because hardware configurations play a HUGE part in low DPC latencies. Nvidia drivers "CAN" play HAVOC with REAL-TIME playback. AMD graphics tends to do bettter. So does Windows optimizations and hardware selections. The more plug ins loaded simultaneously and low DPC latencies the better. Select your hardware wisely on an audio workstation. GearSlutz.com is a good starter. Especially in the 'today, we build our DAW" thread. It's full of trial and error posts.

I am so jealous and happy you have done this review! I am an old Microsoft Certified Engineer on Win2K but went back to school in 2018 for Audio Engineering in Toronto. I have been into Music Production since before MIDI spec 1.0 and was cutting edge DJ with P.A. setup in High School. Anyway I would have loved to do this review! THANK YOU and SENSEL. I was thinking about whether to get ROLI gear but your review made me rethink the coolness factor and ease of use. Awesome to see music gear reviewed on this channel! Also super weird to see Teenage Engineering's stuff in the B-roll.

So I've been straight up binge watching all the content you folks put out. Because of your shows I've taken apart my ps3 (it's all I got), cleaned the fan and heat sink and cleaned and applied new thermal compound. It totally made the system run way better. I've also taken apart the three very very outdated laptops we have and done the same thing as the ps3 with them, all having amazing results!! I hope that one of your staff see this comment because I really want to thank you guys and gals!!! I would also love it if during your episode about music hardware and software if you could show a way somebody could manage to get a good result spending little to no money using the hardware they already have, like maybe an old Dell inspiron with an i3, maybe???? I know I know, 2 core and 4 thread ain't much. I'm still without work because of covid and I'd love to record and compose music to pass the time and not feel like I'm doing nothing. Thanks again to all of you at LTT!!!! You've given me some much needed inspiration!!

Loving the varity of content lately. I think audio and midi are two very interesting subjects that i would love to see more content about.

I remember wanting one of these when the Kickstarter first started. The cool thing about having overlays (they're just silicone, right?) is that you could actually implement physical knobs, or other physical gadgets, that then work the magic of the touchpad; like a massively 3D overlay that actually turns this from a touchpad with a silicone cover into a touchpad that actually represents what it's trying to be, such as a mixer board with physical slides and knobs, rather than silicone bumps. Another example of this is the keyboard, you could theoretically adapt a full mechanical key, minus it's electrical switch, and adapt it to a nub that interfaces with the touchpad, and have an actual mechanical keyboard on this, though this would also require a frame and plates to make it a proper keyboard; rather than the silicone bumps that probably have nothing more than a membrane dome in them. I want Sensel to refocus their product as a drawing tablet at it's core, then develop from that. It doesn't make sense that the core product of the Morph isn't a drawing tablet, the blank canvas should be for what most people are going to use the blank canvas for, a drawing tablet. Every other selling point of this is within the overlays, of which are really nothing special themselves. Not making the core product as useful as possible is only selling the product short of expectations. Maybe the next generation of this, or the product line successor, or a future spiritual successor, will be made as a proper tablet, as it should be.

Little dissapointed the drawing tablet function was only mentioned, would've loved to hear more about that. Great review, still very helpful either way :)

As a music and synth enthusiast and a huge fan of the channel, I'm hyped to see a Sensel Morph review. Also, can't wait for the music production pc video.

The only time i see this useful is for making beat or make an edit for track on the go or something i mean arturia keylab 49 mk2 is around the same price on promo

Wow I wasn't expecting this channel to talk about FL, Ableton, MPE midi and so on ... AND a video coming on music production PC, YES PLEASE ! =D

As a musician, I haven't related to an LTT video this much since I built my computer a year ago. It would be amazing to see more electronic music tools being covered within LMG. And I for one, would watch religiously.
