Werent to happy about us buying a player who scored over 20 goals in the dutch league at ngh on 40ml.....especially as we had loaned Parrot to a lower dutch league team and has similar numbers with goals.

Alcaraz is highly rated in Argentina, and in 2023, he was called up to the Argentinian squad for two World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Puru. I'm guessing he comes highly recommended by Cuti 🙂

I'm not calling anyone a liar, but what happened to all the early business touted by those close to the club including Ange himself? I just get the feeling we don't have enough people at the top of their profession within this club and it's very frustrating.

@@andrewpettett3376 1. This was known to all of us ahead of time and notwithstanding the murmurings were still that we'd get business done early so I can't really get on board with that one. If we had identified players and were dead set on them we could have wrapped everything up before commencement of the tourneys and then allowed them to focus all their energies on their national teams knowing their futures were sorted. 2. There are clubs who have had dealings even with these tourneys going on. It just seems like much of our transfer strategy counted on other clubs not being competent enough to sort out their ffp and psr issues and being forced to sell us their best talent at discounted figures. When that fell through we now seem to be back at the drawing board. To be fair most of this 'analysis' stems from frustration as opposed to any real and verifiable information about anyone inside the club, but that's mostly what being a fan is anyway 🤣. Let's just see how it all shakes out in the end.

big up Sean, always told you in December that your hopes then that by the summer (now) all these clubs will be in trouble for ffp , history shows that football clubs always have ways of diverting and ducking rules. We are now in July and you can see clear how the clubs have ganged up to save each other. Wheres our ffp advantage now?

Maybe someone at Spurs was talking about the tennis and how good Carlos Alcarez was and someone overheard only part of it and looked up fbref and put his name forward as a target?

I have 2-3 thoughts. The first is being hopeful and the lack of clear links suggest we are keeping our real targets off the radar or at least covering them with other noise. Secondly the 'cheaper option' players did pretty well last season - I hadn't heard of Vic or VDV before they were close to done. Finally if we're only looking at foreign players in the main the academy has to be used in Europe and that could be a good thing. That's the optimistic side. The other is the window is slipping a bit. I guess we still need to wait as most bigger players are at tournaments so there won't be any deals for the next few weeks.

Everywhere else saying that any Gimenez deal is dead in the water!!

We spent the Kane money, we did £128m NET in the transfer dealings, which was the 4th most in world football.

Sean, mate. So many transfer rumour contradictions. One minute we're in for a player, and the next minute it's reported that we are not. It's hard to know what to believe. Just how much of this is smoke-and-mirrors, remains to be seen. Perhaps, its a deliberate ploy to put the media off the scent.

Good update as ever . Seems to be getting more confusing by the day . Think the Euro's / Copa being on is not helping with the clarity . All the links to top signing seem to be disappearing which is not really a surprise as we do not have the pulling power to attract or the financial clout . Tottenham really needs a top forward who's reliable. Thats it. Everybody else can be an up and coming player with potential to be molded into Ange's system. The starting 11 is good and needs to stay fit. Proper rotation. Dragusin, Troy Parrott, and even Timo Werner are good as backups and for rotation.

Never caught up on the channel’s evaluation of Veliz…some past highlights were impressive but most clips don’t show if a player can produce in the caldron which is the EPL.

Plenty of players you don't know Sean. Alcaraz is really good, certainly better than Biss, Hobby and Loco. He is settled in the UK, knows the football and language and can score from outside the area often. I'm with you on Edwards though, we need a squad and he would be perfect for our homegrown quota. Problem is that some fans want 22 'first team quality' players and no team, not even RM and Barca have that.

Personally prefer us not to panic buy for the sake of it. Give one of our youngsters a chance if we can’t get our top targets in a particular position this summer. Get the top targets in other positions instead that improves us.

When it comes to Bergvall I think that was a impulsive buying I think. It would be better to sign Nusa this summer. He has more experience likes of scoring goals in Champions League. Just my opinion

Sean! I watched Giminez for Mexico 🇲🇽 against Jamaica in the Cupa tournament and I am not convinced he will be what we want for the Prem.

I saw him when Southampton were playing in the Premier League. All hustle and bustle but no end product. I find it interesting that Juventus are not trying to make the deal permanent.

Honestly, If we was to get 1 player from Palace, id want Mark Guehi, He for his age is outstanding, and hes been our best player for England. Also he is at the age where he wouldnt mind working for a bit to get into the team, Also i feel with the CB's we have we should be looking at a back 3 and Guehi fits that position very well too. Eze im not sure about yet, Him and Olise had that Kane/Son subconcious mind link. Its rare that a person in this situation moves on and is good when the parnership is broken Like Son, or will he be like Kane and just carry on the same. Im not sure. As in life some people relish doing stuff by themselves and some people shine when they find someone they bounce off.

I think there is a dual recruitment strategies( 1st team and youth players) Incomings of 2 or 3 youth players per transfer period. My only challenge with all this youth players is that we are not giving them minutes and i think when it comes to youth players Spurs should focus on British players....

Taking that wild long odds bet that our trailled original targets may not happen. That is like being a senior Tory advisor betting on the date of the General Election. Nevermind there are other good players out there and if recruit like we did VdV, Porro etc I will be happy. And a Palace style buy from the Championship would be good. We need a striker.

Everyone's just reporting mixed messages. This is proving to be a waste of my time and data... I really hate this period of the season. One minute we're close to signing Gimenez and at the same time do.ein else reports that we are not interested in him.
