Sadly, there is not a way to do that. Currently Only TOTO Washlet+ compatible S550e seats can be paired with TOTO Washlet+ compatible toilets.

Is there a way to have the bowl light stay on while going #1? My light goes on momentarily when the seat goes up, but then it turns itself right off.

There is not currently a way. We've reached out to TOTO a few times about changing this into an adjustable feature, and hope that one day it will be.

If you have a washlet+ setup, and it's one that supports auto flush, you just need the auto flush kit! It costs 100 dollars. If you want to email us your order number, or the sku of what you currently have, we can look it up for you.

I bought a 550e WASHLET+ And Autoflush back in 2021 for a bathroom we were renovating, but due to some laziness/stalling of the project, only just got it all set up 2 days ago. Unfortunately, within that time, I appear to have lost the buttons for the top of the remote to replace the default one to allow me to access the autoflush options functionality on the remote. Is there any reliable source to get replacement buttons? I've tried scouring google as well as what I believe TOTO's official site is, and I can only find "random" sites that have no pictures of what I'd be purchasing, and TOTO has nothing for the buttons. From what I can tell, the part number is EITHER "THU6391" or "THU6393". I'm not sure which one I'd need, but my toilet definitely has 2 different flushes (I can push the handle forward or backward, and depending on which way I push/pull determines the strength of the flush). As it stands, the toilet still autoflushes, so its not too terribly big of a deal, but still, I'd like to be able to access the options on the remote.

You not only need a TOTO toilet, but BOTH the toilet and the S550e seat need to be the washlet+ version of the seat.

I have a Toto SW3056 #1. I just mounted my remote like the one in this video Horizontally across the top of the paper roll dispenser with the magnetic bracket and it won't work in this position, mounted or not. Turn it vertically, and it works fine. Is this some kind of undocumented feature and if so, how do you turn it off so I don't have to remove it from the rack to use it?

This is not necessarily an undocumented feature but infrared remote signals can behave differently based on the environment. They need the signal from the remote to be able to bounce to the seat and in some bathrooms space, wall color, hanging towels, ect can all play a role in how well the signal gets to the seat. The S550e remote is designed to be installed vertically so that the icons are upright and not sideways. Some seats like the Ultra Nova have radio frequency remotes that have very reliable signals compared to IR remotes.

Our auto flush works if we don’t put the seat up. If we put the seat up the auto flush THU767 servo motor activates in the wrong direction. Does auto flush only work if the seat isn’t raised?

I have a Toto SW3056AT40. How is that different from the S550 e? Older? Newer? My bidet is from the floor up, not a seat conversion which may be the answer to my first question. When my plumber installed the unit it leaked from the joint between the actual toilet and the pipe unit that connected to the donut which was held in place by a frame screwed to the floor. Ever run into this problem? The leak caused a hole in the kitchen ceiling below.

Sounds like something wasn't level, either the toilet or the flange on the floor. Either that, or there were something blocking the seal/misshapen, some debris. Leaks happen, hopefully you got it sealed for good.

Which version of the S550e Toto bidet is best for an American Standard toilet? I gather that the auto-flush is not an option but is there anything else to know? Also, we have a really small bathroom and the sink is super close to the toilet. Would the S550e seat automatically open even if we are just near it, like if we are just brushing our teeth or washing our hands at the sink?

The S550e will work fine on most American Standard toilets, but in a small bathroom, it will auto open every time you walk into the bathroom. If your bathroom is really small, you may also find issue with remote connectivity, as the TOTO line of products uses IR signals. If you think this might be a problem, we recommend something like the Eco Nova bidet seat: www.manybidets.com/product/eco-nova-bidet-seat/ with uses RF, and thus will never have an issue regardless of the size of the bathroom.

Very patient and thorough. Kid at the end super cute. We have a Carlyle CST874 and our Toto SW834R with an S550e If we added a THU767 does that have auto flush when finished or just push button flush on the remote? Also, since our bathroom is very small and there’s a lot of movement, we have push-button opening of the seat. Is is OK to manually open and close the lid? Or will that damage the unit? Thank you!

Understand that will have to modify male-female connection to fill tube. That won’t be a major hurdle, just looking at the other functionality. The Carlyle was a good fit because of the 10” offset due to a radiator running behind the toilet (it’s an old house that originally didn’t have a bathroom, the room is an add-on).

Thanks for the kind words! You can lower/raise the seat by hand as needed. You should be able to add an autoflush kit no issue but the kit is different for the 1.0 or 1.28 gpf units so you will want to confirm which you have (Should be stamped on the inside of the tank) 1.28 gpf toilet takes this kit: THU767 1.0 gpf toilet takes this kit: THU766

@@ManyBidets You did all the work! Thanks for letting us know that the lid can be opened/closed manually without damaging the 550e. I think the Carlyle I (CST874) is a 1.6 gpf which makes me curious how the auto-flush would work and if anyone has tried it. I think the toilet was from about 2010, so getting old but still working pretty well.

@@ManyBidets Following up: THU767 does indeed work on Carlyle I, 1.6 GPF Had to: - modify tube opening with a shim (just used thin plastic from plastic bottle tops and E6000 glue) - bend manual flush arm (just removed, put in vise, bent 30 degrees, moved a couple inches and 30 degrees back to get the arm out of the way of the auto flush so that the arm was running along the front edge of the tank, but not scratching the wall - the electronic cable passes through the gap under the back of the fill tank lid but there's no hole in the toilet to run through, I just ran it along the side along with the water and electric supply. Worked great even before doing the programming, no issues. Thanks for your help and the great video!

My SW3056 550e auto open lid works fine, but when I press the seat button to lift the seat to go #1 nothing happens. Is there a way to fix this?

@@ManyBidets oh thanks so much for the reply your videos have been absolutely great. Yes I’ve read that section, I’m wondering if the button just doesn’t work or something weird. The auto lid seat combo works but the manual remote lifting the seat don’t. Okay thank you

I have the EK 2.0 which stopped working. Couldn't find my way around it. Any helpful tips? :)

I've never heard of that brand, so sadly I have very little feedback. I'd recommend trying to unplug it, letting it sit for an hour, and plugging it back in. If this does not work, I'd reach out to the manufacturer.

There is not currently. It's something we have put on TOTO's radar. You can turn the auto close down to 25 seconds, but the longest you can adjust the auto flush out is 15 seconds. We are hoping that one day TOTO changes that.

My remote stopped working today😢. I changed the batteries but it won’t respond to any buttons and only lights up all of them from time to time. Is there a trick to make it work again?

If you've pressed and held the power button on the back of the remote for 3 seconds, and the problem continues, you'll likely need a new remote.

How long did the remote last for?

I have a SW3056AT40 which is the washlet+ version of the S550e as I read in your comments. Can I buy a "TOTO THU6391 Auto Flush Replacement Button for Dual Flush S550e Washlet Remote" to gain auto flush capability? It didn't come with it. Anything else do I need to order? Thank you in advance.

I can not answer that question without knowing the exact sku of your toilet. The SW3056AT40 only offers autoflush with a handful of toilets.

The auto flush kit is around 100 dollars, but is not compatible with all washlet+ S550e seats, just a heads up. and it's more than just the button, you have to install the hardware that makes the button work.
