TOTK Solves the Zelda Timeline

Ойындар

Oh welcome to the description,
Totk is really the first game in the series to potentially overlap with other entries in the series, and I believe it does so with intention.
What are the odds I'm wrong? Eh? Come on tell me! Who could imagine it so?
Enjoy the video.

Just want to add that Zelda lending Rauru power is what tips Ganondorf off on the secret stones. Without Zelda there, Ganondorf doesn’t get obsessed with the stones and pursues the Triforce instead. Zelda being in the timeline is why the Triforce goes unmentioned in TOTK. In the original timeline, GD probably just killed the King and Queen and went after Zelda

I think my favorite theory I’ve heard so far is that all of Totk happens in the time between the previous games and BotW. The only assumptions you need to make is that Hyrule was re-founded by Rauru and Sonia and that the name Ganondorf could be reused by the Gerudo :) Not sure if you’ve already heard of this theory, but here you go! It’s my favorite anyways :)

My working theory is that Terrako is actually Ocarina of Time in it's first appearence, and involved in creating the ONE, true timeline split: the 100 years gap between Calamity lost and Calamity prevented in Age of Calamity, which is then the true nature of downfall Imprisoning war. Either of these timelines is split into an event where Hylian mother escaped the Hyrule civil war through a magical warp, where Golden Goddesses created a new world and left behind the Triforce. Causing Link to survive in Kokiri Forest and "battle Ganondorf" as opposed to falling by the DEFAULT fact that OoT is never played. This battle, is the event that gets reorganized as BOTH Adult and Child timeline in a world separately created FOR those timelines, and ultimately to sink child timeline into Twilight and fade away. Adult timeline, will be refashioned into lifting old Hyrule from under the sea and turning into the Dark world in ALttP. I haven't straightened out the deatils, but if there's a dragon break happening, THIS would be the cleanest place to put it, where Spirit Tracks follows into ALttP exactly BY moving out and INTO that timeline. Sage Rauru I think is the design basis of all Kings of hyrule and Gaepora, so I believe he WAS a person who died by eating a Secret Stone. There IS no Zonai race. KING Rauru is a dragon who was restored by Sonia, and Mineru as well, but his SPIRIT remained a ghost to guard the Sacred Realm. Mineru is different for having the Spirit transfer ability, and THAT IS WHY she has that ability. To be the spiritual originator of Hyrulean citizens whose wisdom is passed on, and picked up by the Sheikah.

TotK is a closed time loop, it can't change the past. We know this because the Zelda that goes back is from the same timeline that we play in, Ganondorf recognized her before she went back. Zelda coming from an altered future to change the past to become that future would be a paradox.

If this video taught me anything, it’s that Ocarina’s Zelda absolutely does not deserve the Triforce of Wisdom. Literally every idea she ever had made the world worse: “Let’s get the master sword before Ganondorf gets the Triforce!” Literally is how Ganondorf gets the Triforce as we let him in the Sacred Realm when we claim the sword. “Let me send you back to your childhood!” Shatters the Triforce of courage and leaves the world without a Hero.

This common criticism never made any sense. 1. The Master Sword is the only possible weapon that can kill Ganondorf, and Ganondorf was already on his way to collect the Spiritual Stones prior to Link and Zelda even meeting. If Zelda didn't choose to act first then Ganondorf would have gotten access to the Triforce without Link getting the Master Sword at all, pretty much spelling doom for all of Hyrule. By making sure that Link at least gets the Master Sword before Ganondorf enters the Sacred Realm, Zelda makes possible the only chance any of the Heroes have of ever stopping Ganondorf at all. 2. Nobody, not even Ganondorf himself, ever expected that Link would go missing for 7 years after pulling the Master Sword. Rauru did this to protect Link from getting killed by Ganondorf and because he wasn't mentally mature enough to use the sword yet. So none of that was Zelda's fault at all. 3. Nothing would have changed in the Adult Timeline if Link stayed there at the end of Ocarina, because Link would have already died of old age long ago by the time Ganondorf breaks his seal, same with Zelda. By the time Ganondorf broke free, a new King of Hyrule was in charge of the Country with no indication that OoT Zelda was still alive by then. So the Adult Timeline was doomed no matter what. By choosing to send Link back into his childhood at the end of Ocarina, Zelda created a Timeline/Reality where Ganondorf never enters the Sacred Realm and takes over Hyrule, which is a net positive in the long run since in the Child Timeline Hyrule isn't flooded and destroyed (Adult era), nor is the Sacred Realm turned into the Dark World (Downfall era). So in the end, OoT Zelda made the right decisions for basically everything, and that takes true wisdom.

@@lukejones7164 1: The Master Sword is the only weapon that can kill Ganon, the incarnation of the Demon King that Ganondorf becomes after claiming the Triforce of Power. Before this, he is still simply a Gerudo sorcerer who could have simply been imprisoned until the day that he could be safely executed, with or without the Master Sword. We know this is possible because this is exactly what happens in the Child Timeline Ending. Every single time we’ve seen Ganondorf utilize his demon king powers to survive, it’s been with the Triforce of Power, which he did not have at this time. And don’t say the King wouldn’t just take her word for it, because that’s the exact plot of the Child timeline ending: Zelda tells her father of what Ganondorf will do, and he’s imprisoned, because the women of the royal family are known to have visions of the future. 2: it doesn’t matter if anyone knew he would be sealed. The plan from the beginning was awful: send a 10 year old child whom you just met, with next to no sword combat experience, to attempt to claim a legendary sword, hoping he is able to even draw it, and then face off against a powerful Gerudo sorcerer 1 on 1? It’s “the Sword that Seals the Darkness”, not “The Sword that makes you an immortal expert swordsman instantly”. We know this is a terrible idea because OOT is literally the only game in the timeline in which the Hero has a chance of dying. It’s such a bad plan that Ganondorf actually wins in 1 out of 3 outcomes. 3: It doesn’t matter that Link himself is missing in the Adult timeline. It matters that the Triforce of Courage is shattered and the Spirit of the Hero is gone. New Heros can arise from the spirit, but with it gone, there is no one who rises to oppose Ganondorf. In the direct canonical sequel to the adult timeline, Windwaker, Link is not the hero, he does not possess the Spirit and does not hold the Triforce of Courage; he is just some kid for got caught up in something way bigger than himself. The Wind Waker Link has to force the hands of the goddesses to make him the hero. Wisdom is not about knowing exactly what is going to happen. It’s about weighing the possibilities against their outcomes; you do not need to know that it’s going to rain in order to understand that dark clouds portent a storm. what risks are you willing to take? Which ones will be worth it in the end? It’s clear she gave no consideration for a world without the Triforce of Courage, and no consideration for whether the Master Sword was actually necessary to oppose the pre-Triforce Ganondorf or whether or not sending a 10 year old to claim this legendary weapon was the best plan.

Also there’s a line from Rauru where he’s like “you come from a time where you didn’t com back and help us” and we have no reason to believe he’s right about that, but the fact that he said it raises my eyebrows a little. Like why does he say something so obviously wrong? Is totk not actually a direct sequel to BOtW? That can’t be but what if? This time travel stuff is getting too funky

As a note. The necklace that TotK Rauru wears is an owl specifically. In the Zonai armor and in the Ancient Hero Aspect armor you can see this owl as well as a dragon and a boar. The Creating a Champion book explains that the Zonai use boars, owls, and dragons to represent the Triforce rather than the classic three-triangle design. The owl serves both as areference to Rauru's Ocarina of time lore with showing up as Kaepora Gaebora and it also connects to how the Royal family/the Royal Princess, Zelda tends to be most associated with the triforce of wisdom. A further interesting note on this trail is that each of the labyrinth quests in TotK is given by different mysterious voices that provide their title as "the Ruler of Boars", "the Ruler of Dragons", and the "Ruler of Owls". Each Ruler for a different maze.

Yet amazingly Link, the aspect of courage, or Dragons in the case of the Zonai is the only character out of the three not to turn into a dragon in TotK. One suggestion for a sequel I would really like to see is how the Farore dragon got associated with electricity, which coincidentally is also what the Gerudo wield. It even makes sense looking back at OoT how the Gerudo took over from Mineru and switched from ''Electricity'' to ''Spirit''

The Idea that the Downfall Timeline happens because Zelda went back in time and prevented Link from becoming an orphan is just wild. I do hope that this is what Nintendo was planning for as it cover a lot of bases.

If the past events are just an alternate version of Ocarina of Time, then I have several questions. Firstly, why in the past do Sonia and Rauru never mention that their own daughter is named Zelda? Upon Zelda telling them that's her name, that would be their first reaction, no? Unless they somehow had a daughter during the memories (which we would definitely see if this is what the developers intended) then it's therefore impossible. Either they would note that the stranger's name and their daughter's name is the same, or the Royal bloodline wouldn't have continued. Since their daughter would've had to been born before and named Zelda since it had to have happened before the point of the timeline splitting from Ocarina, then what gives? Additionally, one of the stone tablets written by Sidon by Zora's Domain mentions Princess Ruto. According to him, she fought alongside "The Princess of Hyrule and the Hero of Legend". We could assume the Zora Sage is Ruto and that the Princess of Hyrule is referring to TotK's time-traveling Zelda; but which Hero? During the events of the memories, a hero of legend is not present. Additionally, unless the events of the memories take place over the course of 7 years, Ruto would still be a child, not an adult like we see in the memories. Additionally, if the splitting point is Zelda going back in time, then where are the Secret Stones during Ocarina of Time? Even just one turned Ganondorf into the Demon King; are we believe that in Ocarina he just... didn't care about it? Likewise, it seems a little unusual that no one would mention that the King was not a Hylian; and that Mineru, the King's sister, is completely absent. If your theory is that the Hyrulean Civil War ended earlier, then that would just give Ganondorf even more time to learn about the Secret Stones. If the theory is that he *did* take both Sonia's and Rauru's, then why did Rauru as the Sage of Light not direct Link to the Forgotten Temple so that they could recover the other five Secret Stones? I also think that the difference between Kotake and Konume can't be chalked up solely to design changes. In TotK, they are portrayed as very young; about the same age as any of the other Gerudo, whereas in OoT them being extremely old--four hundred years if their dialogue is to be believed--is something they mention at least once. You can't really look at the ones in TotK and tell me they are several hundred years old. The Hyrule Castle we see in TotK is also very clearly using Zonai architecture. We know ancient Hylian architecture is in the game, most notably in the Lanayru Promenade; so why didn't they use that style for the buildings in the ancient memories? It would match much more closely with the Ocarina style. Not to mention, the Temple of Time seen in the ancient memories and the Temple of Time in Ocarina are completely different structures, but both right next to the Hyrule Castle of their time. I don't think it's impossible that TotK is a bookend to the Downfall Timeline and the memories a parallel to Ocarina; however, the split would have to be waaaay earlier than Ocarina of Time, back around Skyward Sword or Minish Cap. There are simply too many inconsistencies between Ocarina and the TotK memories's for them to be depicting essentially the same events.

Agree with all your points, it’s much more likely that the BotW era is SO FAR in the future that even their ancient past is way further down the timeline than the last entry pre-BotW. Especially since in that game we learn that the first calamity appeared 10000 years ago and the calamity specifically only appeared because Ganondorf was sealed for such a long time in TotK. Not being able to reincarnate every 100 years made Demise’s curse/malice build up like a sediment, eventually forming the calamity. This lines up because TotK Ganondorf is not aware of the Calamity Ganon events. You can conclude that if Ganon was sealed for that long for the Calamity to form and from the first time the Calamity was taken down to the second time it appeared was ~9900 years, it would mean that at a bare minimum TotK Ganondorf was sealed ~19800 years ago and even THAT was long after the last entry in the timeline pre-BotW.

All fair questions. So point by point, here's what I think: We don't know the time between zelda first appearing in the past, and the rest of the cutscenes. It's possible though we have no reason to assume either way, that Sonia and Rauru have a child after meeting zelda and name it after her. As far as the age difference, again if Zelda's involvement brought an early end to the hyrulean civil war as I propose, that child might only be a few years old by the time Ganondorf concedes to the Hylians, as opposed to like 10 years old in Ocarina. Totally possible. The Ruto thing? Yeah that doesn't work. I don't really have a meaningful explanation for it, it clearly indicates that the events of Ocarina do happen as we see them in the original. So, my interpretation doesn't align with that detail as far as we know. Good catch. As for references to this stuff in Ocarina, I mean we all know that none of this was planned for Ocarina. Like I mention, this would be them rewriting the story around the existing canon, it's not going to line up perfectly, it never has in any consistent timeline theory. But also, the exclusion of details does not indicate the nonexistence of them. Why doesn't anyone mention the king isn't a hylian, it never comes up. Why doesn't Rauru tell Link to get the secret stones? Well the secret stones can't kill ganondorf, we see that in this game. Maybe in the seven years where Link is in stasis, Rauru runs the calculations and determines only Link with the Master Sword stands a chance, so let's not even bother sending him off the N64 map for another maguffin. For Kotake and Koume, they do have a kind of a reputation for presenting as a much younger woman. That's their whole boss fight. I think this is a moot point. For Hyrule Castle, that castle was made to seal Ganondorf beneath it. The original castle made before that sealing process would have probably been somewhere else, possibly on the Great Plateau right next to the Ocarina style Temple of Time. That could explain a difference in architecture styles or whatever. As for the 2 temples, I don't know. It's weird they have 2 temples of time. I don't have an explanation for it. I'm not under the misconception that this 100 percent ends any speculation on what kind of canon they're trying to present to us, and while there are definitely some counterpoints I can't meaningfully dismiss, I don't think that certain things not lining up perfectly means that the entire thesis is completely unacceptable. Thanks for this comment though, it was a good head scratcher.

@@wazoomo Thanks for the reply! Yes, Ocarina wasn't written with any of the sequels in mind; but if TotK is meant to take place during an only slightly altered version of Ocarina, then the developers of TotK would presumably make sure it lines up more than it currently does. Even something like mentioning that Rauru and Sonia have a daughter called Zelda would be very easy to put in, and would definitely strengthen the theory. I think, had this been the intention, it would be in there, maybe even just mentioned in the ancient texts on the floating islands. And I think it's a similar situation with the greatly different Temple of Time and Hyrule Castle; they really don't look anything like the Temple of Time and Hyrule Castle in Ocarina. Even though ruins greatly resembling the OoT Temple of Time are actually in the game, they're not present in the memories. Also, the memories show that the ancient Hyrule Castle and Temple of Time are on the Great Plateau; it does also mean that the Temple of Time we see in Ocarina hasn't been constructed yet, or at least isn't visible on the surface where it is in the present day. That means the scene where Ganondorf swears fealty happens on the Great Plateau, inside the old Hyrule Castle. I will admit, though, that given your theory it seems possible that maybe the Zonai Hyrule Castle and Temple of Time were destroyed in the Hyrulean Civil War and rebuilt into what we see in Ocarina. I definitely think you are onto something with TotK having such strong parallels to Ocarina. But whether it's actually meant to be an alternate version of the events of Ocarina (either from a timeline split from Zelda like you suggest or from the time travel in Skyward Sword) or simply meant to represent history repeating in the Zelda series, I don't know. It's interesting food for thought, either way.

  • @clark5317

@@ShinyNumber1 That is definitely possible. I think the main three possibilities are: - Either by time travel in Skyward Sword or in TotK, the Downfall Timeline is created. BotW and TotK take place at the end of it. - BotW and TotK take place so far in the future that the ancient memories are a re-founding of Hyrule that takes place after all the other games. At some point before, there was a timeline convergence. - The ancient memories take place between Skyward Sword and Minish Cap, and the original Ganondorf's body was inactive and reincarnated as OoT Ganondorf. My personal interpretation is that Rauru and Sonia were alive in a time so far into the future of other games that the previous Hyrule didn't exist anymore. As such, when Rauru said he was founding Hyrule, it was basically a new dynasty, a new Hyrule (not New Hyrule). That would put BotW and TotK even further into the future.

GENIUS!!! BRAVO!!! This was fun... thanks for making this so much "clearer".😂 I played Zelda for the first time on my Nintendo Entertainment System. I was 20 years old and a newlywed. My husband and I played together every night after work. Playing The Legend of Zelda changed game nights. It was a single player game so we had to take turns. Times were simple back then. I was addicted to playing Zelda and Mario. Here I am, 38 years later, and I'm still addicted to Zelda. I played Breath of the wild so much that my family hid my Switch from me. Now, here I am playing Tears of the Kingdom with my 10 year old great-nephew. We play for hours. He on his switch and me on mine we play and talk about the game... life is good. Anyway, I went of for a moment, sorry. Thanks for the timeline and art. This is really a fun video. ❤

Alright after watching this, i do like the theory but it still brings heavy retcons, namely into OOT as far as architecture and cultural norms go. Like the temple of time, hyrule guards, the position of the castle, the mention of "zonai", that being said i am def willing to accept its more an artistic reimagining of OOT in those instances but is still meant to be OOT. Though that being said it wouldve been SICK if they actually used remastered versions of the original hyrule from oot in order to tell the story, it would breathe so much more life into the story but would admittedly be less artistically interesting so i understand the retcons.

This is a pretty good theory I like it a lot, but there are a few things I want to bring up. There is a glaring hole in tear of the kingdoms story so important that it has to be filled either in a DLC or a third game in this series. Where are Sonia and Rauru's children? At no point do we see or hear anything about them at all which wouldn't be the weirdest thing on its own but they couldn't have been born after Zelda showed up Sonia and Rauru are for all intents are purposes dead before Zelda turns into a dragon. Either we are going to go back again and see these children/child or we have a massive paradox on our hands. so in what I expect we would see in a DLC is the actual imprisoning war, not quite to the scale of future calamity events but serious enough to require a full on war to stop since the events of the flashbacks hardly constitute a "war". I suspect that the gloom/malice started leaking out of ganondorf shortly after Zelda turns into a dragon which is going to be the prompting for building Hyrule Castle to further imprison his power. It would cause many monsters to spawn around the world and then reason for the monsters we see into the modern era and the blood moon mechanic's origin. However if that DLC doesn't at least mention the wearabouts of Sonia and Rauru's child/children we will end up with another game in this series where we are setting the timeline straight which would likely be the cause of the timeline merger in some capacity.

  • @wazoomo

    @wazoomo

My theory is that it’s ocarina Zelda but if the dlc shows their kid and it’s someone else, that would dismantle a lot of this theory. Maybe the girls look more hylian and the boys look more zonai, explaining the weird endgame armor dog man. As for the kid being born before Zelda came back, we don’t really know how long Zelda was there before Sonia got rear ended. It’s possible she landed there, they became fast friends, the couple had a baby and named it after their new future time daughter in a song of storms esque paradox.

@@wazoomo Depends on what happens in the DLC I suppose but that's half the fun of theory crafting lol. Sonia adds such a fun wrinkles to the theories. For instance most people I'm guessing assume Sonia is a hylia descendant but I don't think that's true, Hylia to my knowledge doesn't really do time magic. She seems to me to have married into the royal line rather than being born into it. I think that makes Rauru the descendant of hylia or perhaps Zelda hasn't become a part of the royal bloodline yet in the sense a descendant of skyward sword Zelda hasn't married into the royal line yet. If the later is true I think it happens earlier in the timeline that you are suggesting, I'd say shortly after skyward sword but long before Ocarina of Time. That would make the ganondorf of in Ocarina a sort of manifestation of tears Ganondorf's escaping powers but still inheriting the spirit of demise. Weird as it sounds we know it's possible for 2 incarnations of the same spirit can coexist at the same time because we see twilight link and ocarina link in the form of a stalthos oddly similar to mummy ganondorf

there's a small detail you missed when arguing that oot Rauru is plausibly the king of hyrule; and that is that a king of hyrule was already shown in the ending to alttp... and he's a big, white-haired bearded man, just like every future king of hyrule. That means that it's likely that Rauru was always meant to be a king of hyrule, if not the current one. Another thing: the master sword being already made by oot's time period isn't a retcon, it's the result of alttp's manual being mistranslated into english

Regarding the Rito question, we know that texture wasn't intentional through direct comments by the artist working on it. He added it in as a reference to a story he had in his head that he'd like to happen and wasn't asked to change it. You could interpret that as the devs accepting the possibility of the Rito but it seems more like an accident than anything intentional.

This was a great video, and I ended up way more convinced of the possibility of this interpretation than I thought I would! The only thing I'm still really hung up on is that, if Rauru and Sonia are really the parents of OoT Zelda, why did they not react at all when hearing BoTW Zelda's name for the first time? If I'm remembering correctly, Rauru even seems a bit surprised when Sonia says she senses a blood connection between them and Zelda. Though, this is a small enough detail that I could see how some people wouldn't have a problem overlooking it, but I just think that if this was really the intention of the devs then they would have done that moment a little differently. So I personally think that the least messy place to put TotK's memories is long after all the timelines, in an era where the old Hyrule has long fallen for some reason and needed to be refounded. Though your video did make me think that it would be cool if the next 2D Zelda (if they ever make one at all lol) was set after Zelda II and featured a fully revived Ganondorf for us to kill!

Here's my take, her not going back in time leads to all the games, including all 3 timelines. But when she goes back in time, it makes The events happened differently, and Ganon is imprisoned versus defeated. This creates yet another timeline. But since the present game is the convergence of all timelines, It immediately gets merged with all the timelines present in that game.

A new incarnation could easily fit into the series, it just might not be the OOT version according to this videos take. Also, I COULD see ganondorf return in the adult timeline, maybe somebody salvaged a “weird looking statue” and brings it back to new hyrule, then a competition could be held (ala King Arthur) for somebody to pull the sword out of the statue. Old hyrule was washed away along with its history, so it’s not out of the question that they forgot about ganondorf. Anyways, this new link would pull the master sword out of the statue, unsealing ganondorf on accident, then ganondorf does ganondorf things and link beats this incarnation (hopefully) for good

This is very similar to the theory I've been considering. I like your theory a lot. The difference is that I think SS created a new timeline, where the humans came down from the sky in a different timeframe, and Hyrule isn't formed by humans exclusively, and not until after the minish cap would have taken place. In TotK, we get both the skyward sword, and the master sword as separate swords, and the skyward sword is treated as unique because you can't purchase duplicates from the bargainer statue. It felt really intentional. Also, Gannondorf recognizes Zelda, and references Rauru's closing line before Zelda time travels. It comes across as more of a destiny loop, like the song of storms paradox. I think it made a difference, but I doubt it's what caused the split.

I like this take of on the timeline you've thought of. Personally, I think it was always Nintendo's plan to leave certain connecting elements in all the games vague but give enough recurring themes that fans CAN draw their own conclusions like this and most of the time it will work because there's not a whole lot of definitive evidence that makes anything in the series 100% concrete. They probably also do this with the Zelda series so that they CAN focus on gameplay first and leave enough vague hints to past games so that fans can connect the story themselves and Nintendo doesn't have to worry about it too much. But I think that IS what makes The Legend of Zelda so special. Theorizing and trying to connect it all thus allowing everyone to craft their own legends. Or simply just view them all as separate legends. Everyone is allowed to enjoy the series in the way they like. And it's always refreshing to see alternate takes on how it could all connect together like yours. Truly a well made video and I enjoy your take on it could make a lot of other things make more sense with the downfall timeline.

So... your theory was interesting enough that I had to take pen and paper to make sense of the time travel 😆 and pray that you're right, because your theory really makes sense in the context of how these games are made and what the writers tell us at face value. After all, we can spin it in a million ways, but the game does tell you that Rauru and Sonia lived at the beginning of the kingdom. So, please, hear me out, because I don't think your theory works with the time travel, but there might be something I've overlooked! The problem I see is that Tears of the Kingdom shows a time loop. Let's not think about the implications of time travel too deeply, because otherwise nothing in these games makes sense, so let's approach it the way Nintendo does it. You're saying that Zelda's actions create the 'Classic' timeline, meaning that without her intervention events would've proceeded into an Ocarina of Time-esque scenario that would've created the Child and Adult split, meaning that the Ocarina of Time-esque scenario is the regular one, the one not tampered with, the regular flow of time. Which means Zelda should've come from either the Child or Adult timeline. But she doesn't, she comes from an era in which she finds Ganondorf imprisoned underground by Rauru, so she already comes from the Classic timeline, and goes back in time to cause the events she's already in, meaning a time loop. Ocarina of Time doesn't work like that, instead it sees Link go back in time at the end, to create a parallel universe through time split, which is a radically different interpretation of time travel mechanics. In order for your theory to work, Zelda would have to come from her own time, change the future and create a parallel universe that we would call the 'Mummy Ganondorf' split or whatever other nonsense, while her own time goes on in a different direction. But that's not what the game shows. Zelda comes from her own time, which is a result of her own actions, in an infinite loop. In other words, there was no scenario in which she wasn't there, despite what Rauru says. It would still make sense, but it would be entirely divorced from the other two timelines, not even its own parallel universe, but just its own story. Which is pretty much what the official timeline says. What do you think? Have I overlooked something? I hope you prove me wrong 😆

The Oracle games came out in 2001, a year AFTER Majora's Mask, NOT before! Also, OoT Rauru and TotK Rauru are NOT the same Rauru! Just because they have the same name and events in both their time play out similarly to each other, that does NOT mean that they're the same person or that the events are same either. We've literally seen history repeat itself multiple times throughout the entire timeline. I mean one single type of event literally happens twice in the Downfall Timeline! TotK's "Imprisoning War" and ALttP's "Imprisoning War" both have completely different names in Japanese. Canonically, TotK's war is actually the Exile War, while ALttP's war is actually the Sealing War. They are both completely different wars. If they were, then that would put TotK into a completely different timeline because there was no Zelda native to TotK's past era. Otherwise, TotK completely retcons OoT by removing Daphnes from canon, inserting Rauru as the king, making Rauru into a furry, BotW/TotK's Zelda exists instead of OoT Zelda, and OoT Link is completely removed from canon as there was no Link in that time period at all, unless the royal family just didn't ever meet Link in that timeline. But Link in that time period still wouldn't be the same as in OoT. And also, finally, please STOP ignoring the Old Maps treasure quests from TotK! We know that TotK's past is far removed from Old Traditional Hyrule lore because when TotK Rauru seals Ganon, Ganondorf literally states that he's seen that all play out before, implying that since become the Demon King again, he's recalled being sealed and possibly even killed multiple times before. Proving that BotW/TotK's Hyrule is NOT the Same Hyrule we know from OoT, but a brand new Hyrule altogether, existing far after the destruction of the old one. Hence why TotK Rauru and Sonia have no memory or knowledge of any Hyrule existing prior or any of the Links and Zeldas from that Hyrule's age.

Daphnes is not the King of Hyrule in Ocarina. He's not in that game at all; he came into power later, in the Adult timeline. Not sure where you got that from. What line does Ganondorf state he's seen it all before? I don't remember that, but maybe I am wrong. But if he did actually remember everything, then he would know Link's name.

@@clark5317 There's literally a painting in Hyrule castle featuring the ancestors of Tetra and her pirates. Tetra's ancestor specifically is OoT Zelda, whom of which is literally confirmed to be Daphnes' daughter! Ganondorf broke free not long after OoT because he had the Triforce of Power in his possession. He literally states this at the end of OoT that he will break free and go after the descendants of Link, Zelda, and the sages, so long as he has the Triforce of Power. The sages sealed Ganon, failing to realize that with the Triforce of Power, he could easily break free. As soon as OoT Link leaves and Hyrule had a moment of peace, Ganon broke free and sought his revenge. The OoT were already dead, so new sages were chosen. That being Fado and Laruto. However, without OoT Link, Hyrule's efforts were not enough, thus the land was flooded. Not sure which official source you're getting this information that Dapnes is not the King of Hyrule in OoT from, but it's not any of the older games like OoT or WW. And if it's from Zelda Encyclopedia, it's automatically false because Zelda Encyclopedia is factually and canonically wrong according to the games! And finally, there's absolutely NO way that OoT's king already lived for thousands of years before getting OoT Zelda's mother pregnant. And all while the War of the Bound Chest, Minish Cap, and Four Swords all took place. Two events of which were time periods when Hyrule was ruled by different kings. Where was Rauru when those happened? OoT Rauru can NOT be the king in OoT's time period because he's way too old and ancient to be the king by that time since OoT Rauru himself specifically stated that he and the ancient sages built the Temple of Time, which was thousands of years before OoT! Unless Hyrule Historia, OoT, MC, and WW are somehow wrong, you're wrong!

@@PJCVita92 How is the ancestor depicted OoT Zelda? Assuming the picture was taken before the Great Flood, that means at least decades had passed since Ocarina. She would be an old lady. If the Ocarina Sages are dead like you said and Ganondorf's returned happened in years, then Zelda as a Sage would be dead too. Which makes no sense. Also, the King of Hyrule is very clearly dead in Ocarina. Like, he never shows up. He's not a prisoner anywhere, he's not a refugee in Kakariko Village, he's not traveling with Zelda. Like, come on. He is obviously dead. Whereas King Daphnes is said to have been the King during the Great Flood. What is your source that he is the King during Ocarina? You're the one making the assertion, therefore the burden of evidence is solely on you. The video proposes the idea that Hyrule was founded about a decade before Ocarina, so no, Rauru would not be thousands of years old. However, Rauru mentioning he built the Temple of Time a long time ago is a good point that I didn't catch when I was watching it.

What helps Minish Cap’s placement. Is a video I saw that fits all the Zelda games maps into BOTW. I feel like Hyrule could exist before Rauru and Sonia’s founding, but as a lesser kingdom, sorta a refounding.
