The Zelda in Twilight Princess was honestly very epic on her own right. Probably the first canon Zelda to carry a sword. The one in Spirit Tracks was a very delicate flower who was afraid of everything, but she's also the Zelda who does the most in her game, actively being a playable character and hard-carrying plenty.
@calebgoodman3028
Жыл бұрын
She carries a lot of burdens. Most of the time she sets things in motion to allow Link to even start his quest like with splitting the Triforce, telepathy, generally getting him where he needs to go while she handles things behind the scenes. Also The Wind Waker is the first time we see her with a sword (the Master Sword no less) and even before then as Tetra she carried a dagger and saved Link’s life. Ocarina of Time is a little hard to tell probably due to the limitations but Sheik is shown with a knife fighting alongside Link in official artwork and the skills he does have suggests a lot of combat training under Impa.

In regards to the Curse. It's never actually stated but it's implied that the details of demise's curse were lost to time. A really really long time passes between Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time countless generations pass. Most people don't even remember that Zelda is the reincarnation of the Goddess much less that there's a huge generational curse. And even if they did remember there's a good possibility that that information was lost when Ganondorf wiped out the royal family in the adult and downfall timelines. Demise is never really brought up ever again even in Link Between Worlds and Breath of the Wild which were released after Skyward sword first brought him up, even though there are still other references to that game.
@Rafaelrgm
Жыл бұрын
Truth be told only Link, who isn't the best at talkin, was an witness to the curse. And thanks to how things went in Skyward sword nobody in his time suffered thanks to demise and as such, probably not taking it that seriously. Not to mention that most of the games have such a huge timegap between that they are just legends.
To be fair the sealing bad guys into swords happens over 100s of generations. Like it works for a VEEEERY long time.
The Master Swords got a sword in the stone thing going on. On the worthy can pull it and it deflects evil so there's basically no risk in leaving it around. In fact one time it straight up regenerated from being left in it's pedestal. Also the didn't explain this well but the master sword IS more than capable of killing evil, Demise is actually killed in Skyward Sword he remains being slowly destroyed from within the master sword, but it kind of doesn't matter because reincarnation ensures that evil will rise again. The curse is less of a "haha because I have cursed you you're aways going to have a version of me after you" and more "so long as hatred exists in this world, in any form, I'm coming for that ass, and you just gotta deal with it". Seal or no Seal some form of evil will exist.
I mean, it does make sense that they won’t guard the master sword that much… because they would kinda want it to be stolen, since if you’re ABLE to grab hold of and steal it, that means you’re literally destined to save the entire kingdom

"There are so many goddesses-" he repeats over and over. By this point four have been named. Four. Three created the world and entrusted the Triforce to the fourth, Hylia. @Chris-gx1ei

I dunno, there are for sure other types of deities. We have the Three Creator Goddesses , one Patreon Goddess and a bunch of other Gods like the God of Wind and God of Storms in Wind Waker or the Dragons of Skyward Sword or the Light Spirits in Twilight Princess, or the Great Deku Tree and so on which are worshipped as powerful Spirits or as minor Gods at least. And then we have the opposing Demon Tribe which is made of Monsters and Minor Demons trying to bring Darkness into the world. These demons are usually under the comand of "Master-Demons" which are Demons on a very high power-level that they could actually challenge the Gods or even be titled as Dark Gods, like Demise for Example, even the Lynels, which are in BotW the most powerful Non-Boss-Enemy, these are referred in the Manual of the first Zelda game as Mountaib Deities. If you look at Hyrule's Pantheon and count every type of minor or major type supernatural being, it's quiet impressive how many Deities this Pantheon has and that it isnt just made out of Big Gods but made out of Whole Tribes

There's also the fifth, unnamed goddess of time referenced in SS, OoT and MM. Hylia made the Goddess Sword, but SS Link had to imbue it with the power of the goddess of time in her temple to turn it into the Master Sword. The Temple of Time and Ocarina of Time both borrow the goddess's power to allow time travel; in OoT, the Master Sword lets Link travel 7 years into the past/future, and in MM, the Ocarina takes him back to the morning he first arrived in Clock Town.

A few notes: Leaving the Master Sword unattended is fine because it's enchanted in such a way that evil can never touch it. Four Sword and Four Sword Adventure were multiplayer games. Link separated into four parts, which could then be controlled by four different players. The Deku Tree is sentient spirit, not just a tree. Wolf Link. Normally, human cannot enter the Twilight; those that do become formless spirits. Because TP!Link had the Trifoce of Courage, though, he became a beast instead. Link became trapped in the dream of the Windfish, which was being besieged by Nightmares (which may or may not have been yet another incarnation of Demise's hatred). He had to wake it to escape. The trailer for BOTW shows the mummified corpse of Ganondorff's human form moving. Whether he's actually being revived or someone/something else is simply puppeting his body we don't know yet.
For Botw 2, the reason Ganon returns is because the being they killed was Calamity Ganon, the beast, and considered not to be the actual Ganon itself, you know, the one with intelligence. Botw is popularly theorized to take place so far into the future that it’s impossible to distinguish which timeline is true or which legend is accurate anymore. Here, they’re all technically true. Which begs to reason that no matter which timeline, Botw will always be the end result.
You don't see it in these summaries but Zelda carries more often than not. A lot of Zelda game plots can be summed up as "Zelda is busy fighting on the front line waiting on Link to get his shit together to give her some backup."
1:24 Actually, the way I understand it, if you value one trait above all others, the Triforce responds to that. Say you have someone who prefers brains over brawn touch the Triforce, all they will be left with is the Triforce of Wisdom. Whereas you have someone who's brave as hell and tries to balance both brains and brawn touch it, they may gain the full Triforce.
The Zelda timeline is a perfect example of “the overarching plot doesn’t matter as long as the individual games are great”
As I huge zelda fan, I love watching this reaction. Haha, if only he knew it was actually waaaaay more complicated than this when you get into the knitty gritty

I remember watching a reaction to the BoTW sequel trailer once (I think it was DeeBeeGeek?) and he basically said he'd avoided watching the trailer because he hadn't beaten BoTW yet and didn't want to be spoiled. Not surprising, when the first games were made I doubt they thought it would go this far or need a story, you couldn't really tell a good one with the limitations of the hardware at the time so they didn't put much effort into it. Now that it's pretty much required to have a big story they had to retroactively connect some plot points that just don't make sense. Personally I think they've done a decent job of fitting them together.
i imagine having a baby with all ganondorfs memories would be terrifying > Dr "Mrs Johnson Congratulation, hes a boy." > Hands baby to mom > Mrs Johnson "I want to name him after your late grandfather dear, he meant so much to you." > Mr Johnson "Ahh, I love you so much, thank you. > Baby "You Will Name Me Ganondorf" *EVERYONE TURNS TO LOOK AT THE BABY IN SILENCE*

One small correction: Zelda in OoT didn't return the Master Sword to the temple because it was sent back with Link, so the sword and spirit of the reincarnating hero no longer exists. They instead build a new master sword powered by 2 sages praying instead of being permanently embued with the goddess's power, and they desperately look for Link's reincarnates not knowing none exist, but they get lucky with a random kid being a fitting replacement who does a frontflip stabbing Ganondorf in the face, where he gets stoned

Going on a tangent here, the Gerudo rely on finding boyfriends with the Hylians in neighboring lands to reproduce... which I believe is just the series way of saying these warrior women rely on prostitution to survive. They even have a religion that forbids men (besides their king) from entering their lands unless they have permission.

Subnoodle just sits there...menacingly
So I don't know how popular this fan theory is, but there is a fan Theory that Hyrule Warriors is where the timelines merged to possibly create Breath of the Wild's Hyrule. However, since Hyrule Warriors was made by Koei Tecmo, Team Ninja, and Omega Force instead of Nintendo, it is not officially considered Canon to the Zelda timeline.
From my limited understanding, the Master Sword is supposed to consume away the evil that is sealed within it. Which might also be the reason why the Master Sword weakens over time, hence why it needs to be charged in some of the titles. Ganon(dorf) having the triforce of power probably prolongs it just a tiny bit.
Love how Patterz can think of the knowledge of the curse being lost through thousands and thousands of years

The Zelda series is by far my favorite video game series. 12:06 never underestimate the power of the Lost Woods.
"wish to the curse to be broken" brother most links and zeldas don't know the curse even exists
Majora’s mask as really good “filler” is so accurate 😂
24:29 link did not know there was a curse 🐵🐵🐵
Ngl watching this reaction video was pretty cool but very confusing but yeah great patterz video Hope you have a great day
11:55 I think it's worth mentioning that when HoT went back to the child timeline he took the triforce of courage with him. Or rather it stayed but for some reason broke into pieces like in windwaker (Adult timeline) but he still had it as a child because "bringing it with him" caused the triforce in the past to automatically scatter to their chosen bearers so it's not even in the sacred realm. This is What we see in Twilight Princess when they try to execute Ganondorf and he randomly gets the triforce of power (Child timeline)
"What dictates Wisdom?" ...the Goddesses, obviously. "Oooohhhhh! THIS Zelda came from the original Zelda whose actually a Goddess!" Yeah, it's called "Reincarnation." Each Zelda, Link, and Ganon are reincarnations of The Goddess who took on a mortal form, The first Hero, and The Demon King.
My guy assumes link and zelda even know about the curse in the first place.
Oh man, LoZ OoAges is my first Zelda too! I loved it so much I bugged my mom for Seasons too. They still are my favorite ones.
Nintendo NEVER could have imagined or planned that they would still make "The Legend of Zelda" entries to this day, so the "complete timeline", characters and events obviously cant make sense in every way, ! BUT ! the "complete history" spans over thousands, ten thousands, maybe hundred thousands of years, and like in our real world history, some informtion about specific happenings just got lost to time or were passed down in a slightly exaggerated or wrong way, and this kinda is what makes the "complete timeline" so intriguing. there is a great sense of mystery JUST BECAUSE you cant explain everything! but of course, its so much fun and so interessting, trying to wrap your head around on what and how things happened in this universe.
Sir, first KH, then Kirby, and now this..... You now have an enthusiastic sub lol I know it's probably been said to you, but there's only 4 Goddesses in Total. The 3 Golden Goddesses: Din of Power, Nayru of Wisdom, and Farore of Courage. And then Hylia, who is the Goddess of Time (usually.) Hylia creates the Goddess Sword, and then chooses to be reborn as a Hylian (Human) to be able to use the Triforces power. (Edit) The king's name is Daphnes. Not Daftness. But, y'know, captions...
The timeline is actually very easy to understand if you play the games
Ok, tbf about termina. Link goes to some woods, a couple of fairies steal his ocarina, he then jumps inside a tree and basically Alice in wonderland happens.
2:12 what is showed in the game is the bare minimum of what we are told. every towns in the games have like 5 to 20 people living there, but in reality they are hundreds of people. same for most video games actually. skyrim, for exemple. you go to what is supposed to be the capital of the country, but there's only a few houses. in the lore they are thousands of people living in that city
Gorons are indeed a force of nature
Zelda didn't put him in the shrine of resurrection Purah did
I’ve never heard someone call it gah-nohn-dorf
Link turns into a pink bunny when he enters the Sacred Realm because entering the Realm causes people to assume a form that reflects what's in their hearts. Since most people who enter the Realm are either greedy or power hungry seeking the triforce for selfish gains they end up as monsters. The Triforce might be able to break the curse if someone wished for it but that would require the wielder to actually know the curse is in place. Sealing actually works pretty well, when your enemies constantly reincarnate sealing them away is more effective than just killing them. That's why they only had to deal with Ganon a few times per timeline rathe than every few decades.
can't wait to seal an evil demon king in a sword again
Finally someone did an reaction of this video
Still easier to understand than Kingdom Hearts.

Everyone: GAN-on-dorf Patterrz: Ga-NON-dorf
It's actually been confirmed that breath of the wild is the last in the time-line so far and connects all three routes.

While yes it's confirmed that BOTW is at the end, it's not confirmed that it links everything.
There’s a running theory that the Zelda timeline can only end if Zelda dies, thus ending Demise’s curse. The only reason Ganondorf keeps returning is because of Demise’s hatred for Zelda/the Goddess’ Bloodline still persisting. If she’s killed however, then Ganondorf wouldn’t be fueled by his ancestor’s desires, and the perpetual cycle of misery that Hyrule faces should end. BoTW2 might explore that concept, as there’s apparently been interviews with Nintendo, stating they want to make BoTW2 pretty dark, almost like Majora’s Mask. What’s darker than the titular princess being killed with no future heir in her bloodline, (since BoTW Zelda’s life was put on pause for a century, after anyone she would’ve been proposed with marrying had died out by the Calamity)? No one who shares her blood destroys any incentive for Ganon/Ganondorf to come back to kill them.

This theory doesn't make any sense
My dad was working at walmart and he met a guy named gannondorf the guy's dad was a zelda fan (when my dad said it i thought: crap
Dude has pissed off the entire Zelda community by saying ganondorf as gaunundorf
Now u need to see the solving the zelda timeline on polygon. It's a great video
I forgot how confusing it was lmao I guess you get used to it after a couple years though. But the thing im interested in is how AOC fits into the timeline. If botw 2 mentions that the Sidon, Teba, Riju and Yunobo went back 100 years then my brain will be fried 😅
So my theory as to where BotW falls on the timeline is that it's in a 4th timeline created from the Ocarina of Time ending where you defeat Ganondorf, but in this 4th timeline Zelda doesn't send Link back into the past instead he ends up staying and living his life in the adult timeline as the Hero of Time. This could potentially explain why all the references to the downfall and adult timeline are, but also why the kingdom hasn't outright fallen apart.
you should watch chase kips videos about different timelines, they're very good, like for example the pokemon timeline one
"there's a lot of goddesses running around." no, there are four in existence, and zero fully active ones. also, you kept saying that "why don't they just break the curse?" and the answer is very simple: they don't know they're cursed. the curse just makes them reincarnate with the same characteristics, not the same memories.
To be fair sealing them has the better chance of working than just offing them.
Makes me wonder how many people in these timelines named their kids link just trying to make it seem like their kid would be the chosen one lmfaoo
I knkw this video is 8 months old my man but i can explain it in an esy way also i love your voice haha
I love how she anticipated that people would ask if fashiontopia was really or canon 😂
Also Link has never been and adult, the oldest he's technically ever gotten is 17 or 117 if you count botw's 100 years. Also most Zelda games start with Link sleeping.
There would be no seven year timeloop because in Ocarina of Time, Link basically did not exist for seven years. After he gets sent back to live life as a child, he immediately tells the king that Ganondorf is evil and uses the Triforce of Courage to prove his trustworthiness Edit: also Skyward Sword Link decided to conveniently forget about the curse as soon as he heard it
