Solar Eclipse is a major disturbance to the gravitational force between Sun and Earth. Earth has magma in its core, and so does the Sun. Therefore, earthquakes are more prominent around the Moon, Earth and Sun's alignments. The same goes for earthquakes when the Sun's spots are the most visible, as the Sun's poles are parallel with the plane where Earth orbits. Earthquakes of the highest magnitudes were recorded then. This phenomenon comes in cycles, every 11 years. These days this is primary school knowledge. Knowledge is Power. :)

Honestly I love sun, its punctual every day, takes no sick leaves, without him, even if he decides to disappear for 24hrs, entire human species and animal kingdom will collapse, just in 24hrs. *We wouldn't exist, our loved ones wouldn't exist. So cheering for an eclipse on sun just doesn't feel right in my heart regardless of all myths.* Eclipse does look beautiful but that is the nature of darkness, its always alluring and draws people towards it. Whereas we keep taking shining sun for granted. We owe our lives to the sun but people only see it as something that would give them a sunbath. *When was the last time you ever thanked sun?* I am a Hindu and I believe in giving arghya(offering of water) to Surya (Sun) everyday out of gratitude for nourishing my soul throughout so many lifetimes. And it truly changed my perspective. Om Surya Devay Namah🙏🏻

You forgot to mention the 7th century myth that a warlord cut moon into two pieces to prove prophethood . I believe this omission was deliberate since you want your head to remain on your shoulders

I living in the Caribbean and i saw nothing. The sun was very bright and hot, we waited from about 6am till after 3pm and saw nothing, i don't know for other parts of the Caribbean but for where i am we saw nothing. Sun remained bright all day!
